I needed a bigger longer coat to fit more layers underneath for an outdoor NFL game (Go Chiefs!) and just colder weather in general. I put 2 layers underneath it and still had room. The jacket is really comfortable and easy to take on and off. The pockets are lined with fleece which is nice if you end up taking your gloves off. The hood is roomy and actually covers your head. I have a larger head and it was nice when I pulled the hood up over a hat to provide extra warmth. This jacket will last me for years and I am so glad I made the investment. One side note-- don't expect a lot of storage in the jacket. One inner pocket and then the hand pockets.

Ok this is the first review I've written on a product -ever! I hate looking like I'm wearing a comforter wrapped around my body all winter, so I really bought this for the style. I ADORE this coat. I am 6'1", weight 140 lbs and bought the medium which is long enough for my arms but also fitted and looks stylish in that it's not too bulky and is semi fitted at waist which I like. Crazy warm, love the fur along the hood, also like the black cuffs around the wrists - these don't really show up that well in the photos but I really like them, simply an awesome jacket.

Great jacket! I wanted a coat that was not bulky and was nice enough to wear to work while still being warm. This jacket checks all the boxes! I’m 5’5”, 128 lbs, 34C chest and the small fits like a glove.

I'm 5'5', chest 36C, size 14, 194lbs, and the XL is a perfect fit. The coat is slim in the chest area, with just enough room for the bottom area without appearing bulky. The coat is very flattering.

I wore this for an entire Minnesota winter and couldn't be happier to have it to pull out again for a second winter. It's warm, looks as stylish as a parka can be, and held up well. I ordered my regular size and a size up and ended up keeping the regular size. It looked and felt better, but this is a slim cut coat so if you want some room to move, order a size up.

I was NOT going to keep this coat....but alas, the coat has proven it’s worth. I ordered this because a friend of mine has it in black. She said it’s super warm, and she looks adorable in it. Uh...me...not so much. I ordered it in vintage white, which is a creamy off-white...sometimes looking like it has a hint of yellow. When it’s not next to anything white, it’s looks white tho. The fit was good. It’s a little snug at the waist, but not tight. It really helps to make the coat more tailored looking. It’s also light, for a beast of a coat. My problem is the stiffness. I really felt it was stiff and uncomfortable. Having had said that, as I’m wearing the coat it is loosening up. I also am not a fan of a double zipper, because it can be difficult, but it serves its purpose for a longer coat, and this one is sturdy. Now...onto why I’m keeping it....I bought this coat for cold Michigan winters, and the winter here was mild until recently. My first go was at an ice festival. Hmmmm....warm! But it was my second go that really sold me. I was out shoveling snow with my hasband on a windy day in the teens. This coat was unbelieveably warm! I could move easily (hence it losing a bit of its stiffness) and I was toasty warm, but not sweating. The wind and cold had nothing on this beast of a coat! The arms are cuffed, so no air gets in, and the outer shell is water resistant, so the blowing snow was no problem. The coat zipped all the way up, covering my neck, and the hood was warm and a great fit. It did block my peripheral vision a bit, but no wind! I will say, the bottom of the coat wasn’t as warm. If you look at the pic, there’s a bottom few inches that looks like it’s just the design of the coat. I think that part isn’t filled with down, because my legs were a bit chilly right in that area. So...I’m keeping the coat. It won’t be my running around town coat, nor my shopping and out to lunch coat, but it WILL be my outdoor event coat, which is necessary if you want to get through the dreadful winters here in Michigan!

This is a beautiful yet uncomfortable coat. Just the right length and convincing faux fur. The Urban Navy is a true, deep navy with matching color TNF logos. The black is slick looking, but unfortunately has white TNF logos. I am 5'4", ~125 pounds, 34B (35 inch chest) and ordered small and a medium sized coats. I'm usually 4/6 in clothing and have a size small TNF soft shell jacket. The medium in the Arctic Parka was huge in the bust/hips, and was heavy enough that it was causing me back pain (back it went!). I ordered a size small and although it fit in the bust/hips with a medium weight sweater, the shoulders/arm holes were way too small. I had a hard time raising my arms in the coat and I imagine that it would be very difficult to shovel snow. The most disappointing part was how cold the coat felt in the arms at ~10-20F temps with wind (this coat is suppose to be windproof). I also found that the size small had significantly less down fill than the medium, which I'm not sure is to be expected.

This coat is heavy and bulky. I felt enormous in it and like it was hard to move. Also, the zipper was broken. Returning it.

MY BF bought this for me as a gift. I wore this for 12 hours in NYC with it only being 15 degrees out and super windy. I was not cold once. I am a person that is cold ALL the time even if it's like 70 degrees out. I got a little hot when I went into stores. I have 36DDD chest and I'm only 5'1. I had to get the XL to fit my chest otherwise a L would have fit. At first it felt a little long because I'm so short but it's not. I absolutely love this coat. It is so comfortable. You can't see much of your curves but that would defeat the purpose of a parka. I absolutely love it !

This coat is perfect (for me!). I'm 5'2", 130lbs and the small fits great. I'm over the puffer coat/sleeping bag look and was looking for something a bit more mature. This coat is exactly that. It's sleek and fits to the body so you know there's a woman underneath. The gray color is very pretty, almost like heather gray. And even though it's not puffy and thick, I can tell this is going to be a very warm coat even on the coldest day here in the Northeast. I originally tried the Northface Crestmont Parka but sent it back.

I'm 5'11 and always have problems finding jackets with sleeves that are long enough. This coat is perfect because it has a lining in the sleeves that goes past my wrists. I usually wear a medium to large coat and purchased a large. It feels great. Without many layers underneath it's very roomy. When I have layers on it's a bit tight in the shoulders but nothing that's unexpected. The length comes halfway to knee. I live in upstate New York and this coat keeps me very warm. I really wanted the gray but it was sold out and ended up with the navy which I do like. My only con would be that the hood is pretty small and fits just over my head. If I'm wearing a hat I can't pull the hood over comfortably. Overall I would recommend this coat and would purchase again.

I love this coat. I wore it in -4 degree temperatures, and it kept me warm. I love The North Face, their products never disappoint me.

This is a beautiful jacket - it was exactly what I was looking for, and I couldn’t wait to receive and wear it BUT, unfortunately, the first one was a small (I’m 5’5” and 120 lbs) and while it felt like the right size, the arms felt tight across so I re ordered a medium which was way too big. I ended up ordering the Eddie Bauer 3 in 1 Mountain Town parka. Oh well....

I received this jacket just in time for the first blast of real cold in MN (single digits with below zero windchills) and it kept me so warm. The fit is better than expected. I have long arms, am broad across the back and 36D chest and don’t feel restricted. I am 5’9, 162lbs and ordered a large. Others mentioned a cheap zipper and they must have fixed that since my zipper is sturdy and works beautifully. A softer area around the chin would be nice but it is better than expected based on reviews. I really love the jacket and know I will enjoy winter even more because I will be warm!

SO warm and stylish. I used this all winter in Chicago (including -50 wind chills during the polar vortex) and it kept me very warm. You can dry clean it (despite the tag) and I don’t recommend machine washing because of the down. It’s easy to remove the fur (you can hand wash and lay flat to dry, then fluff with a hair dryer on no heat/cold shot.). I like to take the fur off, zip it up and rinse the outside off in the shower once a week or so to remove dirt/salt marks.

I'm 5'9", wear a size 12/14 and weigh 179. I purchased an XL so that I could have some extra room under the coat to layer up as I live in Chicago and it gets super cold here. The coat shipped really quickly which was great! This is my first time purchasing a winter coat from a company that specializes in outerwear--I'm sold already and won't go back to those fashion coats again. I love the length of the coat itself, goes down to just above me knees and I love the arm length. I have really long arms and finding a coat with long arms is difficult. The coat itself is really warm -- I could immediately tell the difference between the North Face and my old coat (not North Face). The only thing I wish was different on the coat would be the zipper -- it feels really light and I wish it felt heavier/sturdier. Other than that the coat has been amazing (worn it about a week now).

I love this parka. I'm very sensitive to cold weather and this coat kept me warm through LOTS of walking around in below freezing temperatures in Germany and Austria last January. I keep wishing I'd invested in it before because now I can still be comfortable in cold weather. Anywhere the coat covers, I'm warm. It's also not TOO hot when changing temperatures. (I could wear it going from museum to museum and didn't feel like I was burning up when I was indoors.) It's not extremely form-fitting but it's still pretty flattering given its warmth. The hood is also really nice for when it snows or just from covering my head/ears when it gets a bit too windy and chilly.

Holy feathers, Batman. This is a stellar coat. I needed a new one for winter and for a trip to NYC. This coat kept me warm and comfortable without weighing me down. The length is great too, and the removable hoodie is an added bonus. The con is the feathers. Feathers all over my clothes and wherever I’ve been. I am told this gets better over time, but I have to keep a lint roller nearby wherever I end up. Sometimes it reminds me of Joe Pesci form Home Alone.

I love the look of the coat. It is really warm. What really sucks about this coat is the zipper. I’m still wondering if I should send it back. For a $300 coat from North Face, I expected better. I’m not sure I want to fight with this zipper forever.

Received this jacket two weeks ago and fell in love! However this evening was at a friends outdoor bonfire wearing the coat. We noticed a funny smell, realized the coat's arm had completely melted!! I am so thankful that I wasn't not burned, but the coat is completely ruined. I want to be clear that while I was near the fire, I was certainly not in it at any point. Same spot as my friends who were wearing jackets as well were standing. This is a serious safety concern.

Worth every penny! This is the perfect coat for snowy, cold Chicago winters. I wanted a longer coat that is warm and also waterproof--and I've found it! This is a really cozy coat that is super stylish and also very functional. I love the hood in particular because it fits snugly and when the coat is zipped up all the way, both the hood and the coat cover my neck and half of my face, so hat and scarf really aren't needed. I am 5'9" and ordered a small. It's long enough for me. It fits perfectly and isn't too loose, but there isn't a whole lot of room for layering, though I honestly haven't needed it because this coat keeps me warm (just tested it out last week when we had temperatures in the single digits--I walk about an hour to work and was fine the whole way!).

I am 5'7" 130 lbs, slim build, and I bought the black in Medium. I love it- it fits perfectly! I can still fit a decent sized sweater underneath the zipped coat and it fits/zips comfortably. The neck is a tighter fit than I would expect but I really enjoy that feature since I have to walk a decent distance from my car to work in our cold Missouri mornings. The hood detaches easily with button snaps and the pockets are fleece lined- which I never knew I needed until I bought this coat! Would highly recommend this coat to anyone living in windy Midwest winters.

I like the style of this jacket, the navy color, and the material. It is a beautiful jacket, but it feels tight once you have your hands on the driver's wheel. I feel restricted around the front shoulders while driving and the sleeves are noticeably shorter by a little more than an inch. I'm petite 5'1" and the jacket appears a little too long for me in the back and the waist, which I'm used to this so that is not a deal breaker. Final thought is I love everything about the jacket except the short arms which make it hard to keep warm in the Michigan winters so I'll have to return it.

Very strange fit. Size large and snug in the shoulders and chest area. Going back.
