I really loved this jacket I ordered it in the an extra small ( it's regular fit, not a slim fit) as I am very petite 5'1, 105 lbs, 32c and currently 3 months pregnant (but I am not showing at all.) The sleeves are perfect but the mittens are too small. Also, when I try to zip it up it won't zip up all the way. Lastly the zipper quality just sucks! I ordered a size up (small) and that's just too big I look like I'm swimming in it. As much as I loved the comfortability, feel and look I just had to return both of them. I may try the Gotham next.

After spending so much money, I am disappointed that the down feathers poke out of the interior lining as it is not well made. It is a hassle when I want to wear dark colored sweaters. I think for the price of this coat, feathers should not be poking out.

I ordered this parka in a small and medium. The medium was a little big for me. I am 5'5 and 130 lbs. The length on the medium was too long and the torso part of the coat was too bulky (for my liking). I don't like to wear heavy tops underneath a super warm coat because It causes me to sweat when I'm indoors walking around doing errands. So I ordered the small to compare them both. With a long sleeve jersey underneath it fits perfect. It would definitely be too tight if I were to put a sweatshirt underneath but as I mentioned I don't. So for reference I went with the small. The length was slightly higher but still covers my legs as a parka should and the sleeves were perfect, the medium they were too long. I get more shape in the small then I did with the medium it just looked much too big on me.

Very warm and comfortable! I love all the big pockets, and this is the first winter coat with a hood that isn't constantly slipping off.

Living in Vermont where the winters are filled with mostly sub 10 degree days (and typically negative wind chills). This coat is incredibly warm. A bit stiff at first and needs some breaking in to get more comfortable. Hood is a bit large (noticeable when sitting in a car, etc.) but keeps the neck and head super warm walking around!

Bought early in fall due to Farmer's Almanac and am so grateful I did. Warm, cute and really well made. A joy! You totally get what you pay for in this perfect parka. It makes me happy just wearing it. The longer sleeves do come in handy for extra hand warmth. I love this item!

I got it as a Christmas present, I live in Montana, and I never take it off! It's great in 40 degree weather or -20 degrees. Incredibly comfortable, and I love how there are fleece wrist warmers that extend beyond the sleeve of the coat. The only drawback is that I cannot keep the parka hood on when I drive, as my neck movements are restricted. But that's a pretty minute problem. ( I just wear a hat underneath, which I do anyway)

I have been wearing this Parka everyday as it has been very cold this winter. I was tired of being cold when I went shopping, or going to my kids games-from the car to the gym, and scraping the windshield. Problem solved-super warm and comfy!

I deal with Scandinavian Winters, so I have been looking for a very warm midpriced parka for some time, and I am extremely happy with my purchase of this Boroughs Parka as it meets all of my needs perfectly. It is very warm (I only use it on days that are below freezing) and the perfect thickness for protection from the cold but not too bulky that you feel like a snow man walking around. The length is perfect on me as it reaches a bit above the knee. The best part about the coat is that is has a quite elegant look so although it is an effective parka it is also nice to wear around the city and for going to and from any events or work without looking as if I am about to go on a big treck (although it is good for that as well). I am 5'8" and have a full chest so I decided to go with an XL. It fits just tight enough to not let any air in but still leaves room to layer without feeling too tight to move. I am super happy with my this coat!

Perfect coat for walking with the dogs, a night out or sideline wear. Last North Face coat lasted over 15 years and the construction on this one is great too! Looking forward to many years of warmth!

After a week in the frigid Midwest, this parka has proven to be warmer than anything I've had before. The variety of pockets all prove to be very useful and the little hand mitts are great when you forget your gloves (although don't plan on straightening out your fingers inside of them). I would definitely recommend sizing up if you have broader shoulders and think you'll be layering under. I always wear a small in North Face but ended up exchanging it For a medium. The only flaw with this jacket is the hood - it's insulated which I was so excited about but...it's just really lacking depth. If you wear your hair in a bun in the hood or have a hat with a puff on top, the front of the hood won't even reach your forehead. And unlike many parkas, the fur can't be flipped forward to add more depth to the hood. It's definjtely still wearable and by sinching it down and avoiding certain hairstyles, it works and is very warm!

This parka is extremely warm, great for New England winter weather!
I ordered L and XL and had to return the XL one.
It is a fitted winter jacket, so it does restrict movement a little bit. This is why I bought the XL afterwards, but returned that size anyway.
This parka has great pockets and super warm hoodie.
Definitely highly recommended!

This coat is perfect...I've warn it in Minnesota (very dry and very cold, down to -30s) and in Alaska (Southeast, cold and damp), it has kept me very warm through it all. The built in mittens, the wind collar, the long length and trim fit hugs your body's warmth and keeps you very toasty and dry. I don't think I'll ever buy another winter coat!

I bought this right before the crazy cold snap on the east coast in early Jan. This coat kept me super warm despite walking at least 5 miles each day in the (feels like) -4F weather. The pockets are big and amazing (there are 7, including an inside pocket) and the hood is so warm and perfect that I didn't even need a hat. The sleeve lining that turns into emergency mittens is such a thoughtful detail and kept cold air from seeping in. Zipping it all the way up to cover my face was a little uncomfortable, so I wore a wool buff that I could pull up to keep my nose warm. No scarf needed.
I'm a size 14/16 and bought the XXL (I'm 5'11" and about 210lb for reference) and it fit well. I carry most of my weight in my butt/hips (L in tops, XL/XXL in bottoms), so it's a smidge tight at the bottom and large around the waist, but it's probably the best-fitting down coat I'll ever find for my body shape (it is notoriously difficult for bottom-heavy ladies to find down coats, which are usually cut straight up and down, that don't look like frumpy puffy sacks). It hits me about 6 inches above my knees, so I wish it was a bit longer.
It's expensive, yes, but I'm very glad I splurged on it. It's warm, cute, fits a girl with a big booty, and has lots of thoughtful and practical details. I highly recommend it.

Coat just came. It is beautifully made, worth the money. Temp is up to 65 today so cant assess its performance in cold, but I'm sure its fine. This coat doesn't fit me. 5', and 175 pounds, classic hour glass at 40/36/44. The shoulders are tight, the sleeves are so tight at the upper arm, and the coat is tight at the hip. I was afraid I'd split the zipper. New Taupe is a horrible Army brown/olive. The hood is huge and there is no way to adjust width or height. No velcro tabs as on the LLBean jackets. But the high baclava neck is wonderful and if you want a hood that falls over you and hides your face from blizzards, this is it. The coat is very heavy. Im 70 now, so its a little too much for me to carry around and lift. But if you are young and strong, no problem. This coat wants a slim figure and some height. It was so tight that it felt good to take it off! Too bad because this is the quality I was looking for. Windproof and water proof!

The temps in the NE dropped below zero & I bought this coat for my daughter. She liked it so much that I bought one for myself. This coat is very warm and looks cute on. This is an extreme cold weather coat that's completely waterproof, so it is a little restrictive. That said, it's lighter weight and slimming than I expected. My daughter and I both got it in a small. The coat has a tight fit, but does not feel too small. The neck of the coat is down and is so warm and comfy. Also, the hood is lined and snug and very warm. Again, the coat is waterproof which is great.

Love the look of the coat. same as many reviews, this coat was not made with a woman's body in mind. Very tight in the chest and hip areas, perfect everywhere else. I originally purchased a medium, which was a little snug, then tried a large, which was huge in the arms and had no shape.

I wish I could make this coat work for me because I truly love the style and it's very warm, but the fit is not for an adult woman with hips. I wear a large in all the coats and jackets I own, and this coat is too tight around certain areas, especially hips. I went ahead and purchased the x-large but after bringing it home realized it looks enormous on me, and just does not fit nicely. It's like I'm in between size large and x-large which does not exist. This is a women's coat but not made for a woman...so very disappointed since I wanted this coat so badly! I've noticed this with many of NF clothing, just not made with women bodies in mind.

I am between a XL and 2X, slightly broad in the shoulders, w/ a full bust. The jacket runs a little narrow at the top and restricts arm movement. At the same time, it's a has more room in the mid section. I use the adjustable straps on the sides to take in the extra room in the mid section. So I purchased the 2X. I tried on the jackets with a hoody and that's how I made my final decision on the bigger size. Not made like the Artica Parka which is generally a bigger fitting jacket.

This is a solid coat and I stand by all my NF gear, this was a gift for the wife while she stands on a train platform in NYC's Outer Boroughs. Coat looks great, the comments on the sizing are good to pay attention to, and it is warm. My (15%) haircut to perfection is that the coat requires that you do still layer up under it.
This last Snow Storm in NYC with single digit wind chills beat the coat. Nonetheless, I would still buy this coat again.
