Amazing coat, very warm! I love that it has a built in scarf and gloves. It is comfortable as well. I love a coat with many pockets and this coat has them warm. The only downfall is the feathers that come out. Otherwise I'd recommend it to everyone.

Bulky, looked like a snowman! Grabs under arms at armholes, I am thin, 5'7" 110lbs, medium was small at armholes. Returned got another NF same look and armholes normal, artic II

Love this jacket , i have long arms and the length is just right! I'm usually a Medium ( need for length in arms) in jackets but the small fits nicely but no complaints here!

Bought this coat after comparing coats everywhere! We are in CA and daughter going to school in Boston, needed something warm, waterproof, windproof yet stylish. This North Face Outer Borough's Parka fits the bill! She loves it! I am thinking of getting one for me so I have something to wear when I visit her!

This is by far the most comfortable & warmest jacket I've owned. It got me through a cold, rainy football game which is a plus. That being said, it is snug on the chest (this is with a lightweight Patagonia jacket underneather it). I considered going up a size but since the jacket fit perfectly everywhere else, I stuck with my normal sizing. Very happy with it.

Comparable in warmth and quality to Canada Goose but at less than half the price, plus the luxe faux fur is animal-friendly (while Canada Goose uses coyote fur). A competitor’s jacket that we saw in the mall for about the same retail price but marked down 50% on Black Friday had much less down in the shoulder areas! This coat is super-warm and can handle the Northeast winters! Cute silhouette, with flattering waist-cinching belt in the back. This coat is a really good deal.

I'm a dog walker so winters can be harsh. This coat keeps me warm comfy and is very stylish. You can't go wrong with this purchase. Simply the best. I love it.

This Jacket is great....if you are on the fence get it....I am approx 160lbs and 5ft 2inches and the medium fits only wish there was a tad more room in the chest area....but I understand the cut...everywhere else fits perfectly...and the sleeves are the best....not too bulky not too slim....Jacket is well made, navy blue is a rich color....i tried canada goose and this fits better.....this jacket is very fashionable and slimming....love my Jacket!

I love this coat so far upon trying it on. It was a Christmas gift, so it has to stay in the box wrapped for the next month. However, I used the fit per the northface website, which fitted me as a small. I'm 5'4", 120lbs of somewhat athletic/skinny build (bra size 32D), and found that the length was appropriate everywhere. However, after trying on with both a tshirt, and a crewneck sweatshirt, I felt like I was unable to raise my arms enough to put both hands on the steering wheel. The chest and shoulder area was too tight. I exchanged for a medium and now am able to lift my hands above my head without any issues. I also was unable to wear a scarf or hat with the small size, as the hood was too tight. I do not have this problem with the medium. Can't wait to unwrap at Christmas and really give it a good go.

I have owned many TNF parkas over the years. This was the year to get a new one, but sadly the fit is lacking. It seemed great in the store, but now that cold weather is here, I am starting to be frustrated with my new purchase every day. I prefer my last TNF jacket. I have always worn XS and this year it is like it was large design but just sewn smaller. There are many things wrong on this design. - Unlike others, I find the fit in the upper chest/neck area too bulky - I always have a draft there if I don't have a scarf on. - The sleeves are too long and I don't understand why TNF can't incorporate the thumb hole on the inner cuff like many other brands - which makes it like a fingerless mitt. I will never use the fold over cuffs - too restrictive and useless for everyday activities. Previous years have had a fold over outer cuff that looked nice but this year is plain and too long. - The two collars with the attached hood is nice but hard to zip up because it is bulky and cumbersome. It might have been better to have the internal collar zip be separate from the hood collar so you can sip up one collar without having to also put up the hood. - The lower zip pockets are useless as they are far too low on the jacket to comfortably use (they are at mid thigh level, which means you have to bend over to use them) - The zipper is poor quality and after only using it for less than a month is already showing wear (plastic at start of zipper) at the bottom. The overall look of the jacket is nice and stylish but the functionality of the design is poor. I regret purchasing this jacket and at $550 it isn't something I can easily replace.

Honestly, this is the best winter coat I have ever had. I used to live in Scandinavia and purchased a great and warm coat there - but after buying this The North Face parka, it easily got the first prize for the most awesome winter essential! If I needed to say one con about it I'd mention that I often get really sweaty in it - even when I'm outside in the serious minuses. I guess it is because it protects in every weather circumstances, so it makes sense that the material does not breath.

I have to agree with several other reviewers- the sizing in this parka is very strange. I own a couple of North Face products including a long down coat and wear a size small. The small in this coat was way off- couldn't even get my arms down the sleeve openings! In a size medium, the body of the coat was too big. I'm very disappointed because it's a substantial parka that I believe if sized correctly would be perfect.

Beautiful nice fitting coat. It weighs a ton. To heavy for traveling.

I wanted to love this coat, but the sizing is strange. I wear a Large in most everything I own, including a couple of North Face jackets. But, the large in this was so tight in the chest that I could barely zip it. When I moved up to the XL, it fit better but the arms were so long that they covered half my hands. No thanks! Looks sloppy for such as expensive coat due to the strange sizing.

I loved this coat from the photos, but it didn't work out for me. I am 5'4" and 160, with a straight build and a large chest - 40C/D. I typically wear extra-large tops due to wide shoulders and large bust. This coat did just fit over a henley shirt without being uncomfortable, but I wouldn't be able to wear anything more than a light layer under it. However, the bottom was like a bell for me, way too wide, which made for a weird and unflattering fit. The second thing I did not like about this coat was that it was quite bulky and heavy. The third thing I didn't like was that the outer fabric seemed like it would attract lint. On the positive side, the coat was very very warm, great cuffs and hood, and made you feel snug. I am sure it would be warm in any temps (I am from Wisconsin). But the fit was not right. This particular model may not be the best if you have cup size over B.

As someone who rarely leaves reviews, I just wanted to say thank you for the perfect winter coat. Winters in MN that drop to -40F leave me dreading to walk down the street to the store, not to mention spend prolonged periods with the dog, etc. This coat is a perfect cocoon and is easy to move in, plus ALL the pockets for gloves, phones, keys... The fit in the chest/shoulders is a little more snug than what I am used to, but I still preferred an XS to a S, just remember it it a fitted parka when sizing.

Some specs: 5'3" Bostonian who shops a lot at the Gap and generally wears a 4/6 in pants and dresses, or S/sometimes M in shirts and sweaters. When ordering jackets I always consider going up a size because of layering clothes underneath, but went with the small due to length, since I'm on the shorter side. It fits so perfectly and is so, so warm. We have just had our first burst of winter in New England and I have so appreciated the fluff and warmth this jack provides. The mittens are great, too. When initially researching this coat I thought I read a review that said you couldn't take the fur hood off, but you can actually zip the fur lining off and the hood remains on the jacket. The fur was a lot for me, so that was handy. It reaches in the back to about the back of my knees, and just above my knees in the front. When I sit down it feels like I'm sitting on a pillow. The dual zipper is handy so that your legs aren't trapped as you try and walk. I love all of the pockets. In addition to being functional, it also looks really cute and not so bulky as some other jackets tend to do. Would highly recommend.

I am extremely pleased with this jacket! I initially ordered the (off) white in aclarge online. I'm 5'5 160 lb. I knowwwww... but I thought I would want extra room to layer up. I picked it up in store. &It was a little too big for me, BUT extremely warm and comfortable. I tried it on with a short sleeve shirt & was CLOSE TO A SWEAT. The clerk brought me the exact style jacket in the new taupe green, in a medium however & then I FELL IN LOVE. So cozy, so warm, so flattering, so stylish. I walked my dog in 35 degree weather for 2 miles the night I bought it & felt AMAZING. Worth the pretty penny.

This is my first North Face parka. I had been looking at this for about a month online before I went to the store about bought it. I am so glad I did! I got the green color and it looks great. This will definitely keep me warm for our long, cold Alaskan winter.

I moved to Chicago a couple of years ago and the process of finding a sufficiently warm coat has been frustrating. I saw this one online and then looked went into NF to try it out and I am nothing but happy. I wore it a couple of days ago in mid 20s temps and high wind during my commute and it was wonderful! I am a powerlifter and have fairly broad shoulders and I did find that I had to size up to have enough room in the shoulder and back, which means the waist and leg area looks larger than I would like - this was predicted by the FitFinder so I recommend that using that if ordering online. I bought the Olive color and it is really chic in person, I have gotten a complements already and its only November!

Walking around downtown Chicago in 30F weather, the zipper finally gave out on my 15 yr old puffy down coat. So I made my way to the NF store and bit the bullet to drop this kind of cash on a coat. I couldn't be happier! With a howling wind, the hood and fur lining blocked it ALL. I was amazed. It got so warm walking around outside that I ended up unzipping the coat to stay cool! This coat is going to be awesome for cold Chicago winters. Well worth the money. I love the deep hood and extra sleeve mitten details. So clever! I'm 5'11", size 10/12 and I bought an XL. The large fit ok, but it would have been tight with a bulky sweater on underneath, so I opted for a little extra room.

I wanted this coat last year. Bought it yesterday on sale in Black. Love it! Super warm for those Northern Canada winters. Love how long it is.

I own several North Face products- jackets and coats. I ALWAYS wear a Size Small. In this parka, the small was awkwardly undersized. I could barely get my arms in the sleeves AND they were too short! I also ordered the medium which was awkwardly oversized. My arms fit the sleeves but they were too long. The coat is heavy, very warm and appears to be water repellant but I had to send it back, unfortunately. I'm very disappointed. At this price point I expected a lot more.

The fit was way off! I own another North Face parka in small which fits perfectly- this one I couldn’t even get my arms in the sleeves! Cut awkwardly small in body, shoulders and sleeves.
