I purchased this jacket because I live in Minnesota and need warmth. It definitely serves its purpose. I wasn't sure if it would be warm enough and it hasn't let me down! Absolutely loving it! #ThankYouTNF

Great Jacket. It keeps really warm and has plenty of good placed pockets.

I love everything about this jacket & really hope it lasts me the next few years!! The fit is wonderful - and although a bit heavy, I knew what I was getting myself into when I bought this. It is very, very warm & I especially love the 'puffed up' neck area that almost acts like a built-in scarf - so I don't need to wear an actual scarf. The front zipper works well, I just find it a little hard to zip sometimes because of the bulk of the jacket (again - I knew what I was getting myself into). GAME CHANGER: The 'convertible storm cuffs' were literally the decision maker between this jacket and another one & let me tell you, it's so worth it! I'm very happy with my jacket & I just pray that it holds up, because I would expect North Face to be the kind of brand that does hold up! Note: The only reason I'm giving this jacket 4 stars vs. 5 is because my bottom pocket zipper was either broken when I purchased it (and I didn't notice) or broke shortly after getting it - and my co-worker bought the same jacket and hers got a hole in the interior armpit after about 4 weeks of wear. Our local retail location did a great job of helping us get new jackets - and so far, so good. It was just disappointing to spend that kind of money on a jacket & have it break/rip.

I bought this coat because I was going to be outside a lot in the winter in the city and near the water; I've begun commuting by ferry and walking to where ever I need to go. I wanted something really warm - and I got it. I feel very cozy in the jacket. I like the length, as it provides some warmth below the waist, and it seems very well made. It's a bit bulky, but that seems a fair trade-off for the warmth. It's water-proof and it protects me from the wind, so it has it all.

I've been looking for a parka for a long time and this is just a thing I wanted. I ordered small, new taupe green color. It fits me very well and I love this color. It was raining on the day I tried this parka for the first time, and I was able to see that it's a good waterproof parka. It's really warm and stylish. Love this parka!

I bought this coat because I was in need of a no joke winter coat this for the next couple of years. While it is a little pricey, so far, it is worth the investment. The built in mittens come in handy very often!! I truly am warm whenever I wear this coat, I love it!

I'm a lunch & recess supervisor at my kids' school and have to be outdoors from 10:30-2:00 in weather that feels like 5 degrees or warmer. This jacket keeps me so incredibly warm and yet, it does not make me sweat! It's also light enough for me to comfortably move around in it. I especially like the adjustable hood, adjustable side straps, and hidden mittens...it allows me to make modifications based on my needs. The BIGGEST complaint I have is the inner lining. Whoa, it sheds A LOT! We are a TNF family and have never had this much shedding. My dark colored top is consistently covered in white feathers- too much to just pick off or brush off. I will be returning this for another in hopes I just received a defective item. I love this coat so much, I hope I don't have a problem with the new one.

I love this coat! It's stylish and extremely warm. It's a tad snug around the hip area, so if you have wider hips than I do (I'm 5'7, 120lbs, pear shaped) I might recommend sizing up. It also has a ton of pockets, and these awesome little fleece additions to the sleeves to keep hands warm. 10/10!!

This jacket is really really warm. We live in Canada, so of course it has to be! You can use this in milder weather with the jacket unzipped, and colder weather all bundled up. However the front pockets are odd. They ripped in the first few days of use. I think the weird placement of the pocket is what caused it to happen because when I put my hands into the snap-button pocket, one would want to make their arms horizontal, and so the outer side seams are completely torn. Not to worry I'll stitch it back, but north face should have thought of the pocket placement more carefully. At least make the pocket higher so I can put my hands into the side pockets... All in all its a great jacket though.

Was looking for a staple very warm winter coat that I could use for years, however the fabric and fur simply looked cheap when I recieved it in the mail, something I didn't expect for over $400. It also didn't feel nearly as warm as a parka this expensive should. As a thinner, athletic body type, it also was unflattering on my figure, which again, for $400 and something I plan to wear as mainstay for years, I wasn't happy with.

I previously had a similar Marmot jacket for 10 years that I loved and it was time to replace it. Unfortunately, there was one issue with the hood on the new Marmot. This was very similar and it's been a couple of months into our Minnesota winter and so far so good. The color has a nice fleece lining which feels great against your neck. The hood is spacious, but not too big. There are two small things that I don't love about it. The zipper goes quite low and I know some people really like that, but I have to bed way over to zip it up. A zipper that starts a little higher gives you more room to move in the legs when you're walking and sitting. This feels a little restrictive when I'm sitting although technically it's a two way zipper and you could unzip it part way from the bottom. I don't want to put strain on the zipper that way so I'm not doing that but it does require a bit of shuffling around especially when I get in the car. Also, the pockets on this jacket are quite low. I do not have short arms and I feel I almost have to bend over to put my hands in the side pockets. It doesn't feel natural. Other than those two things, the coat has been wore and feels comfortable.

This is my first time in NY, and I had to survive for the winter. After a long benchmark and asking advises around, this North Face Jacket was the most valuable choice! I am so glad to have bought it! I am wearing a size S and it fits perfectly, I highly recommend this model if you are afraid as much as me of the winter. The BIG PLUS of this jacket is that you can hide your hands from breeze (I discovered that after 2 weeks haha)

I couldn't find any North Face jackets in store so I decided to just order this one without even trying it on. I'm 5'1 105lbs and ordered a S so I could layer on colder days. This jacket is heavy but so warm.

I love this jacket, definitely worth the price! It was between this one and a different one which was $100 less but the other jacket had reviews about the filling being on their clothes, so I decided to take the risk and go with this one since then reviews were much better, definitely made the right choice, best investment of my life,I get cold easily and def kept me warm in the city, I was literally sweating in this jacket and I only had 1 sweater on. It has cool mits that you can flip over at the end of the sleeve which is awesome.

I bought this coat for my daughter to replace her old puffer coat. This one is perfect for colder, windy weather. She loves it. She normally wears a medium 34C however she needed to size up in this coat as it was right across the chest. Great coat!

This coat is very warm and stylish I got a size XL, I have another coat from a different brand and my XL coat gave me some Xtra room, however this coat fits snug and doesn't give me much room under it to layer up. Still a very nice coat and I would recommend. I live in Boston so the winters can be harass and it's kept me warm and dry so this this season and last season.

Well I was super conflicted about whether or not to keep this coat. I bought it in my usual M and got the L too just in case. Neither size fit me correctly. I am 5'4 and 150 Lbs with wide hips and a small upper body. With a medium to medium heavy weight sweater, the medium was perfect in all but the shoulder width..which was too tight..even with just a t-shirt. I was swimming in the large coat. It looked like a bag on me...so for that price it had to go back. It was a super bummer too because the copious pockets were perfect...the lined ones were especially cozy. I loved the hand covers too. I had to remove the faux fur around the hood also because it drooped into my eyes. Why do people not put an adjustment strap on hood in a coat this expensive?

When I bought my NF OUTER BORO PKA coat 3 weeks ago, I was super excited I thought even was expensive for a coat, it was worthly, but after few weeks of used the coat, I notice the feathers come out so easy, and all my sueters are full of feathers, seems like I sleep with chickens in a henhouse. I can handle with it, I will return to the store. Made me sad because I love the others parts of the coat. BUT THE LINING IS VERY POOR QUALITY.

Not sure why the low ratings considering the info in the ratings--sounds more like personal preference issues. I find this to be a very well-made/designed parka. I love the fit! Being of more "average" sized (?) in general I find the upper body fits well and allows movement, the collar eliminates my need for a scarf, the fold over mitts will come in great handy when mittens or gloves are forgotten or for quick in/outs. I don't think they are meant to be fully functional as mittens so missing a thumb hole is not a big deal--I love that it has these! As far as a ton of down feathers escaping, I have not had that issue at all in the week or so I've been wearing it. I would think it normal to have a few when your talking feathers and breathable material however I am definitely no expert. At any rate it has been very minimal. Overall I am happy with my investment and certain this parka will work well for me for years to come. I am a person who doesn't mind paying a bit of a premium for quality and won't lie--I was almost hoping I wouldn't like it as much as I did so I could return it for something less expensive lol...not happening!
