Very nice coat. Has been very useful for me, as we live in a mountain area. Very warm! I love that it doesn't have the hand extensions out of the sleeve (I hate those things and this is one of the main reasons I chose this coat). I do wish the front was a little longer (back is longer than the front) and it is a little bulky. Runs a little bit larger than other Columbia coats/jackets I have, but this is actually nice in that I can wear sweaters/sweat shirts under it comfortably. Does not lay well to wear unzipped, but it's pretty uncommon you'd be wearing this type of coat open. I have gotten a lot of compliments on it and I would recommend it!

Love this new coat. It have been looking for a nice and wqrm cost for awhile but the ones I looked at were too expensive. This coat kept me warm yesterday when it was only 15 degrees out and very windy. Nothing to complain about this coat.

Bought this for Iceland's windy, wet, cold, damp weather. We had some this winter and the coat kept me very comfortable. (I get chilled easily). I especially like the length in the back. I can sit on a concrete step and keep my tush from freezing. Pockets are all lined. Only thing that annoys me is the flare of the coat at the bottom when it is not all closed up. I normally wear a medium but wanted something to wear over a sweater. This may be a little tight if it is bulky. I'm 5'9" 148 lbs

The coat is very warm and great utility wise, the size was too snug, you don't have room to layer up if needed. I am 5'6" and 140 pounds, I have other Columbia coats that are XS or S, but the S in this one is just about right, even if I put on a few pounds of holiday weight I won't fit in. Also can't layer it even with a thin sweater. So size up would be my recommendation.

I was looking for something warm that I could layer with. By itself, it's pretty warm but not the warmest jacket. But layered with a sweater it's very warm. I wish the hood was a little bigger, but other than that a pretty solid winter coat.

I've had this coat for about a month and so far am very happy with it. Seems well made and warm. It does look a little bulky in front, so if you are looking for a slimming silhouette, this is not it - but if you are more concerned with staying warm and dry this is worth a look.

Great jacket. Multiple zip pockets on the outside. Only one inside. Only issue is I've been seeing a lot of feathers leaking out...

This coat was purchased specifically for travel to the arctic in winter. While we have yet to make that trip, the jacket looks like it'll be comfortable for the planned outdoor activities. The jacket arrived compacted for shipping, but puffed up nicely after a short time. While not bulky (as other reviews have stated), it does seem to offer plenty of insulation. The jacket fits as expected, although the arms seem a bit long. I love the knit cuffs, which will keep cold air from coming up my sleeves. The body of the jacket has the silver reflective "omniheat" layer, while the sleeves are lined in quilted material, which makes getting them on a smooth operation. The jacket length on me is about halfway down my thighs. There are cinches on both sides at the bottom of the jacket. I appreciate the 5 pockets: flap pockets on either side for carrying things, zippered pockets for hands or for securing smaller items, and an inside zipped pocket (which I will use to keep extra camera batteries and cellphone warm). The adjustable half-belt is a bit high in the back for me, but it is a nice detail. Zippers are all nylon and YKK brand. The hood has cinches on either side to adjust its size, and a removable faux fur trim. The fur isn't as lush as I'd have liked, but it adds textural contrast to the jacket's outside fabric. The fabric on mine is a nice neutral tan-grey. While it's unlikely I'd have paid the full list price for this coat, its selling price was a bargain, in my opinion. I'd definitely buy it again.

Love this jacket! It's very warm and the heat dots mean its warm immediately. The pockets are great especially the hand warming pockets. Only thing thats kind of a bummer is that it runs small. Luckily I didn't need to exchange sizes but I can't wear a sweatshirt underneath like I would normally with coats

This coat suits for weather here. It keeps me warm. However, the behind belt was got off after machine washing. I have to sew it. Besides that, I'm satisfied with this one.

This is the warmest jacket. For me it was a little tight around the bust.. That is why I rated it a 4 instead of five. I do highly recommend it as well as the other Columbia jackets I have bought.

I am a Large on everything. large coat/jacket, shirts, pants, underwear. So, i bought a large on this jacket as well. Oddly enough, hip width too tight. i have to have the bottom zipper a little higher so it wont look tight on me. Zipper is also not the same length the jacket is, zipper is higher up. Jacket is great quality, just wish hip width was a little bigger and zipper was jacket length. Extremely warm jacket- i do recommend, just probably get a size bigger if you are wider in the hip section or have the bottom zipper higher up so it wont bother the movement. Spoke to someone in the chat of columbia, was told it should get a little loose but im not sure if its true.

The coat is very warm and stood up to the winds by the water In Portsmouth NH. I loved how the hood would stay up and not blow off, perfect size! Wish it was a tad longer, but super cute and nice style.

This jacket is very warm and great for very cold winter days. The fit is good and can be adjusted around the waist for a more form-fitting look.

I really like the jacket! It is kind of heavy and warm. There are 2 things I don't like. One is it runs small. I got an extra large and it is a little tight in the back and shoulder area. I have an athletic shape so most of the time I buy men's jackets because they fit me better. The second thing I don't like is no omni heat in the sleeves! Why not? I can tell the differences between the warmth in the body and the sleeves.

I live in mild-wintered North Carolina, so this coat might be a little overkill for our typical weather. However, after this winter, I knew that I wanted a quality coat for the month or so of snow and freezing rain that we do have, and I wanted it to look nice. This coat absolutely keeps the cold out, and the waterproof exterior was exactly what I was looking for. I removed the detachable fur lining for the hood (rain is what we get more than anything else) and it is good for wet weather for sure. I wanted pockets that I could put my hands into with ease and this definitely has it. In general, I wear on larger side of medium shirts. I deliberately ordered a large in this coat because I wanted to wear bulky sweaters underneath it. However, the coat is large enough that I really think I could have ordered a medium and been just fine.

This jacket is everything you would expect it to be. Very warm, heavy duty, winter coat with flannel pockets. It is pretty true to size. I have the small and there is still some room in the midsection and enough room to fit a sweatshirt under if needed. Can look a little puffy, but it's a big warm jacket, so I got past that part. Definitely recommend it!

I really love my new jacket, but I have some complaints. When zippered all the way up to my neck, it is uncomfortable since it zippers up so high. It also is a little restricting, but that is pretty minor because I often wear a scarf so do not need it zippered all the way up. It is pretty warm, but I still have to wear multiple layers underneath. I tend to get more cold in the arms because the omni thermal reflective layer does not continue into the arms. It would be better if it was through the whole jacket. I like the length of the jacket (although I do wish it was longer). The bottom button on the jacket tends to unsnap often. Overall, I enjoy my new jacket. It looks super nice, and it is pretty comfortable.

I like the coat a lot—just what I was looking for, something very warm, weather/waterproof. My old Land's End down was not cutting it once it got below mid to upper 30's and we've had such a lot of 20's, teens and single digits this winter in NYC! Took it for test spin around the block walking my dog on a 20 degree night and felt good (haven't gotten it wet yet, so can't speak to the waterproofing, but the Columbia website claims it is). I'm just not sure why it's rated as running true to size. I'm 5'4" 120lbs, usually a size 4 or S, according to all the measurements in the size chart small should have been just right, but it was REALLY large—a full size too big even with three layers including a big, thick sweater underneath. The shoulders were huge, the sleeves completely covered my hands like a kid in Dad's coat, and I could grab giant handfuls of extra fabric around the waist even over my thickest wool sweater. Columbia's site where I bought it first didn't have an extra small, but I just found it here on Zappos and it fits perfect (I can fit a sweater and still zip and move arms decently) so now that I have the right size I'm thrilled, it's cute, practical (love all the pockets) and very warm. Of course it's a big heavy, sporty winter jacket—you have to be looking for that type of thing—not a figure flattering fashion statement item, I just wish they'd make these clever technical clothes in some beautiful colors, why must everything be black, grey or dirt colored...the light cloud is a very light cool grey, a little brighter/perkier at least:)

Like the coat and features but disappointed in the hood and fur. Prefer a hood that stays up when it's windy and has more fur to protect your face.
