The jacket fits as expected and is very comfortable. My only concern is that the zipper does not seem very sturdy.

I hate reading short reviews with little detail so I hope the following details will help somebody. This is my first Columbia coat. I've had it for over a week now, wearing it every day for dog walks. So far, it's a hit! Pros: 1) It fits! I am 5'8" and 270lbs, so finding a good coat with a comfy fit can be a challenge. I slipped it on and zipped it all the way up with no problem. 2) Beautiful color ("Dark Nocturnal"/Navy) 3) Sleeves are perfect length. They don't creep up my forearms when I stretch my arms forward. 4) The stretchy spandex-like "comfort cuff" really keeps drafts out and feels very nice. 5) Fleece/Sherpa-lined hood stands up firmly on its own when pulled up over the head and zipped up to the chin. There's still enough room for a beanie or baseball cap. 6) Coat length for my height is good, resting just above mid-thigh and below my hips. 7) Velour-lined pockets. Although thinly lined, at least my hands are warm when tucked inside. 8) Warm. The Omni-heat lining is thin/lightweight. I've been either warm enough or too warm on my daily dog walks (30 - 50 degrees, light rains or strong winds). 9) The bi-directional zipper I like it. Zipping the lower portion of the coat open has been very helpful when sitting down, while still remaining warm. 10) Synthetic down-polyester. I can toss this coat in the washer/dryer. Cons: 1) For me, a big con the inside armpit area is too small/tight, especially compared to the generous fit of the rest of the coat. When both arms forward, there is a slight/uncomfortable resistance (with just a t-shirt underneath). It would be nice to have larger interior armholes for us plus-sized ladies. 2) The bi-directional zipper gets caught/stuck easily. This really is not an issue specific to this coat as ALL bi-directional zippers should be used with care. 3) Nothing reflective on the coat's exterior. Would prefer some piping or similar reflective detail for safety at night. 4) The price. Seems a bit much for synthetic. I did not get this coat on sale. But it fits and I really like it, so I'm keepin' it! Still on the fence: 1) How water-resistant is this coat's shell, really? I have been walking in light rain, with water beading up and rolling off the coat. But any longer than 60 minutes in that, or in a steady/heavy rain, would push this coat past its limit. Would recommend a waterproof coat under those circumstances. Bottom Line --- I DO recommend this coat.

The temperature dropped today and It was the first time to wear the coat. It was comfortable to be in and out of the car doing errands.

Very warm and comfy. Fit is a little larger than expected...wish it was cut just slightly more fitting. Overall will work well though with warm sweaters, etc. sleeves are long enough which is a huge plus over other brands!

I live in Michigan and this coat was perfect for the days it wasnt below zero. I do love the Omniheat lining but the thickness and warmth of the coat just isnt enough for Michigan Blizzards. As a preschool teacher I have to go out with my kids for recess up until 0 degrees. I have another Columbia parka that I use when it's more frigid. That being said: I think this is a wonderful coat for 25-50 degrees. Great for watching early morning soccer games. Love the thumb holes which keep my wrists nice and toasty. Doesnt bunch up in the car and you dont feel like the Michelin man. Cut nice for a plus size figure. Zipper is a little wonky at first. Seems to need a "breaking in" period.

I purchased this at the end of the season and will likely get good use out of it next winter. Love the thumb holes to cover the gap between sleeve and gloves. The fleece lined hood is a bonus as I didn't even notice it in the description when making the purchase. The fit is great. Took a star off as I've already gotten the zipper stuck but managed to get it back on track easily.

This is a great and versatile, everyday jacket long enough to cover your butt, which seems to increase warmth. My only issue is that the zipper could be higher quality. It hasn't failed me yet, but I'm very careful with it. The coat unzips from the bottom for ease of sitting in cars and whatnot, but you have to be very careful that you've aligned the zipper when you first put it on, and then be careful to lower what you've unzipped before unzipping the entire thing. I just worry the plastic zipper will last. I guess I can update later after a year of use! Other than that, the coat is very stylish and warm for such a lightweight coat. I selected the white/chalk color and have received many compliments.

I love this coat! It's lightweight, but yet warm. I really like the thumbholes on the sleeves. I'm taller and so this is nice considering most coats are too short. I also love the color!

I love my new winter coat! It is really warm but not bulky at all. I also love the length and that it keeps my legs and backside warm. I love the warm lining on the hood, around the collar, and in the pockets. The zipper is a little tough to get used to and i would've liked the hood to be removable but I love it anyway and would definitely recommend it to others looking for a warm, lightweight coat!

I love the navy color, I love the warmth, I love the longer length! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was because the sleeves from wrist to shoulder runs small, the coat is a 2X women's with plenty of room everywhere but the sleeves are a bit tight.

I really like this coat. Like all Columbia coats the shoulders run a little small but those nice thumb cuffs help to shape it well. Mn winters can be bitter but this coat is a winner for keeping me warm.

When I first bought the coat, I bought a 2x. The snug was more so in front then anything. Although I had to go up a size, I'm not disappointed the coat is very warm. I love the insulation especially dealing with the cold weather we get in Chicago. I would definitely buy another one.

Thin so not bulky but insulated with Omni heat so warm. Zipper is hard to work at first. I would expect a better zipper for the price. I ordered a size up due to other reviews and am glad I did. Nice jacket overall.

I like this coat. I ordered to replace a Jacket that had reached end of life. We have not hit the really cold part of winter in the Midwest yet. So far have been satisfied with the level of warmth provided by this jacket. Like that is longer length and has the 2 way zipper.

It's warm even though sometimes I still need a hoodie under it. Love the color. It isn't a boxy figure like other plus size coats. The hood has fleece in it which is awesome.

Love this coat. Its warm lightweight and very fashionable.Only reason why I gave it 4 stars and not 5 a stitching issue. I realized a few threads were loose other than that this coat Rocks!

I really like this jacket. It covers my butt well but I do wish it was a bit longer however it will get the job done. The jacket runs a little bit small if trying to wear anything other than a t-shirt under it. Definitely size up.

Love the Omni Heat - overall the coat is VERY lightweight. Not sure I'm going to like the white color - worried about dirt! Kind of wish there were snaps in addition to the zipper, just for ease of closing quickly (zippers can be a pain sometimes!)

I bought this coat because I needed a warmer Columbia coat. I love how comfortable it is and the fleece/lined hood is so cozy. I haven't tested it in extreme weather but it is warm at 20 degrees but needs a base layer to keep the wind out. One wish is that the hood had a toggles to cinch it or to keep it in place better.
