My first NorthFace product. For the price I thought it would be a bigger thicker material, but it is a lot thinner than I thought. I was thinking no way this could keep me warm, but I was wrong. Great buy.

Super warm, it's almost amazing how much heat this jacket makes/retains. Ultra light, packable displacement for hiking.
Fabric is quite for hunting situation and love the fact that the under color is hunter Orange.
I used the size tool on the web site and it??s spot-on.
Very happy and by far my favorite hoodie to date.

Had my eye on this for a while and purchased it well ahead of winter weather arriving. Biggest decision was color- I got the silver.I know it will work as well for walking around in the city as a hike in the woods come the next Polar Vortex. I'm very keen on the idea of it staying warm even if it's soaked through, unlike real down. It's light, packable for travel and look's as good as it fit's. Bring on the cold weather!

I always thought the North Face was a brand for poser outdoors men. But this jacket proved me wrong with its incredible heat retention and durability. I used this jacket everyday for survey work in Alberta and it was warm enough with just a base layer. The prairie winds didn't penetrate through this jacket even though this jacket is fairly thin. Thermoball is an amazing technology!! Highly recommended this jacket.

Honestly, I was skeptical of this jacket when I first saw it, it was very thin and lightweight and I didn't think it would hold up to the abuse of the outdoors. I was very wrong, this jacket is very warm. I wear a men's M.
Pros:
-very warm, I wore it down to 4 F (-20 with wind chill) at 88% humility without getting cold
-lightweight, you hardly feel it
-smooth surface does not catch
-quality materials, stitching is good, although not excellent
-self stuff into pocket
Cons:
-no wrist adjustments
-no hood cinch
-15D may have durability issues later on, would be better if it had 20D nylon
-Because Thermoball is a new tech, the cost is just a bit high.
Overall, I was impressed. It is very warm for its weight and is a joy to wear.

I'm very satisfied with my purchase; thermoball is a great invention with several wonderful qualities. This jacket actually gets warmer when it's wet which is unbelievable. I highly recommend anyone who wants a lightweight n warm jacket to purchase thermoball.

I??ve had TBH for just over a month now and have used it in the city as an around town, in the mountains during a snowstorm as a mid-layer during aerobic activity under my TNF Jammu Neoshell, and tested it under my Killy Otelo lightly insulated primaloft jackt with Dermizax EV in the single digit??s, and it is the most versatile insulating layer a gear-head could ask for. The construction allows for breathability as there is no internal backing material what you see on the outside is on the inside including stitching, so not much wind protection but again very breathable, warmth trapping and light as a long sleeve t-shirt. Under a shell the hood is comfy moves like a one-piece. I wish it were made with Quantum Pertex like my Tnf Seneca primaloft insert to prevent fiber leakage (barely any) but??_ This completes my decade long journey to find the perfect technical jacket combo??s. Thanks Tnf
P.s. This is the beginning of the end of down.

The only problem I had with this jacket is that the first one was WAY too small, and don't get me started on the return process. That was a headache, I sent the return package back it almost took a month to get a refund.

Great design and all but the only downside is the threads on mine came undone within 2 weeks of regular use. However, great warranty TNF is great and offered me a gift card in exchange for it.

Fantastic jacket due to strong mix of warmth, wind resistance, and light weight. I never get cold in this thing - add warm layer beneath and shell on top for skiing. My one gripe is that the hood seems sized for a helmet without a drawstring. I seldom wear a helmet when I need the hoodie since my ski helmet provides enough warmth on its own. So when I am using it casually or for climbing/hiking, the hood is almost useless. It blows off my head with just a moderate wind and provides suboptimal warmth since wind can enter the hood easily. Come on TNF, give this thing a hood drawstring and you have the perfect garment.

Jacket looks and feels great. It does feel big and hence doesn't keep as warm as expected for mid 40's weather.

I was looking to replace my earlier version of this jacket and missed that they had changed the sizing to slim fit. Needless to say a medium no longer fit me and finding a standard fit jacket (in an acceptable color) seemed more difficult than it should have been even on the website. I wanted black, but will live with the navy.
