Unlike other companies out there, Northface is true to size. Unbelievable how something so light can be so warm! I wear it in sub-zero temps and survive. I purchased black because on lighter colors you can actually see the fill/stuffing through the material.

I bought this for the "packability," but have been pleasantly surprised by how warm it is. I have warmer down coats, but I've been wearing this with no complaints in temps as low as the teens. Some reviews have dinged the fit of the hood, but I've had no real issues with it.

I really like this jacket. I use it a lot at college. It's very cold in the winter here in Western PA. If it's 30 or above I can get away with wearing a long sleeve t shirt or short sleeve and just the jacket and be pretty warm. For days when it's below that and in sub temperatures due to the windchill, I usually layer up with a sweater and or collared shirt and stay pretty warm. This really retains your body heat and I love the packable feature. This is a great jacket and definitely good for winter. But if you're some where that has lots of rain, snow or high winds, I'd suggest using this as an insulator! Overall, love the jacket, great customer service, and another awesome purchase from the North Face.

The thermoball jacket is great, not bulky, but still warm. Buying the whole family one!

Excellent as an outer layer or as an insulator. The sleeve design is superior to the typical elastic bands used on other products.

This is my 3rd thermoball purchase. I have the jacket, jacket with hoodie, and the vest. I just ordered the plasma thermoball jacket and can't wait to try it. I love this line because it is so light, compressible, and extremely warm for the lightness. Colors are vibrant and really like how soft the material feels directly on the skin. I would highly recommend this product line to anyone wanting a very functional and comfortable addition to their pack. Planning to start buying for my family members.

My first time purchasing a North Face Jacket. It's actually for my son. As parents we hate to waste our money on things that they think is cute.. when this box arrived and I opened the contents I find this what feels like very thin jacket.. I instantly feel this was a waste of my $$... is freezing in Chicago. Until he convinced me to try it on and go outside in the freezing cold... OH MY GOD!!! How could this be real?!? This jacket is UNBELIEVABLY warm!!! My BEST UNBELIEVABLE PURCHASE. I'm buying myself one when I win this $150! Thank you in advance!!

I bought the thermoball for my son. He loves the jacket because it's light weight, but performs like a hyvent. I live in the New England area and it gets really cold sometimes zero below. I bought a size 2X because my son is 6'0 and has a long wingspan. My son wore the jacket with just a t-shirt underneath and he said that he was very warm. I would recommend this product to any one who's looking for a light weight jacket to keep them warm.

Love it! Will probably purchase another color or two. Very light weight but warm enough to wear when it gets cold but also not too warm when its just a little chilly out. Packs down small, perfect for putting in your pack for a hike or backpacking trip.

Great coat for the desert southwest. Cold nights and warm days. Good in the wind and the hood conforms to head well. Love the adjustable hip feature. All in all a wonderful coat that fits to size.

I have had my Thermal Ball Hoodie for about a month and I'm continually amazed at the warmth delivered from such a light garment . I wear it every morning in Kansas winter, to run my dog , with only a tee shirt underneath . Great Job North Face.

This is a very lightweight yet resistant jacket. The orange is bright and brautiful. It is very warm and easy to carry. I just wear it over my t shirt and i am fine. I would certainly recommend it.

This jacket is super light weight. Warm and easy to wear alone or under another coat. The hood is a great addition. Because it's packable it is a good choice for trips.

AMAZING warmth for such a thin shell. Feels like it has an internal heating source! If you want an incredibly thin jacket that will keep you warm (so far this winter, it has kept me warm in 20F with a wind chill to 5F while walking the dogs!) then just buy it. I waffled for a month (cost - fortunately, it was an unusually warm December). Definitely worth the $$$$, if you got it. LOVE the hood, too.

My hubs decided to get me a northface coat for Christmas, just a week before Christmas! I was very skeptical when we went shopping and couldn't find one that I liked. He suggested online and so I began to look. Less than 15 mins later I had one ordered. I was concerned it wouldn't make it before Christmas especially when I checked on the tracking # and it was in California and we are in Ohio! It was delivered on the day it was promised, and I love it ! It feels light weight but is very warm. My daughters are jealous ! Thank You.

I own a vintage clothing store and only wear old, natural fibre clothing. I moved from Atlanta to Denver a few years back and my mother, being a mother worries about me being cold. She sent me this jacket in the mail for Christmas. I have to say it is amazing. For the thickness, one would assume this is for a light wind and 50? F. It was snowing when I tried it on, so I walked the couple blocks to the store in just the jacket and a flannel with a t-shirt under. I was dry and comfortable, other than my face and hands, but that was my fault. 5/5
