I am a loyal Brooks Addiction customer. I have worn them for years. I need a motion control shoe, as I am an extreme overpronater when I run. Running in Brooks Addiction keeps me injury free. Matter of fact, I usually have immediate problems if I stray from the Brook Addiction. I just purchased the new Addiction 13. I'm disappointed that after the 7th day of wearing, a hole appeard in the inner ankle top part of the shoe. Comparing the shoes to my Addiction 12's, it looks like this part of the shoe has a larger fabric part than the 12's. I'll will be returning the Brooks Addition 13 and unfortunately, now need to look for another brand of motion control running shoe that will hold up longer, as I anticipate this is a design flaw in this version and will happen again, just as quickly. Bummer.

I ordered 3 shoes from Brooks and the Ariel 16 and Adrenaline 17 were super... by comparison, the Addiction 13 was too short and seemed VERY cheaply made... VERY disappointing for $130.00

I have been wearing Addiction 11 and 12 shoes for years - they are great for my overpronation and give lots of great stability and support - plus plenty of room for my bunions. The down side has always been they have been kind of ugly. I was thrilled at the redesign of the addiction 13. They look great. However - I am sad to report they no longer fit in the toe area (same size and width as always) and I'll need to find a new shoe. Major bummer.

Shoes are comfortable though turquoise fabric on inside tore on both shoes within 2 weeks of wearing.

These shoes are not comfortable at all. I agree with the previous reviewer that they are also very cheaply made. I have many foot problems and have an awfully hard time finding anything that works. Brooks has really dropped the ball lately. The only shoe I can wear from them now is the Brooks Addiction Walker (Leather). I would really like to find something else but I can't. I have arthritis in both my big toes and and I need a supportive shoe that I like!!!!! Very disappointed with this shoe it fits very strangely and its much different looking than the picture. So it went back. I'll keep looking.

I've had foot issues for some time and work a lot of 12 hour shifts. I was excited to get these bc they were cute compared to some that are EE. Got them and they were good at work and everything. Then not even 2 months in the mesh is wearing away. I have 2 holes already...not happy. For the money they should last a lot longer just saying. Very disappointed. Now to find another brand that actually fits wide feet!!

I am one of the customers who has the material on the inner ankle start shredding within a week. Since I am limited in what type of sneakers I can wear (feet, knee and hip issues - and I wear orthotics) I had to make this work. For my first two pairs I covered the inner ankle with mole skin and "colored" it turquoise with a sharpie pen. For this pair I finally figured out what to do - brush over the entire area with nail polish top coat! (like I do when I get a snag or run in my pantyhose). It takes a few coats - let it dry between applications - but my sneakers have held up since mid-May. I am looking at my sneakers now and see that they need another application but this is a good work around. Btw, I contacted Brooks and they blamed my feet!!! Sorry Brooks... I've worn Addictions for a long time - this is the first iteration where the inner ankle is shredding.

I have worn the Addiction for many years...I buy the newest edition each year. These are a bitter disappointment. Within weeks of wearing, the fabric “collar” around the top of the shoe began to disintegrate. The holes became larger and larger. I thought I had done the damage myself. It wasn’t until I saw other reviews and photos that I realized the problem is with the material. I have patched them as best I can using fabric paint from the craft store. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

BRING BACK THE ADDICTION 12!!! I have worn the Addiction 12 and the Addiction Walker for years. Because of my pronation and other foot problems these were the only shoes I've found that didn't hurt my feet. When it was time to order again the Addiction 12 was no longer available so I ordered the 13 thinking the were pretty much the same. Well the style looks the same with different colors but something is wrong. They kill my feet. I have been trying to "break them in" for a couple of weeks now by wearing them a few hours at a time but it's miserable. These shoes make my heels hurt so bad and the rest of my feet don't feel so great either. Please bring back the Addiction 12 that I have been wearing since my podiatrist recommended them to me years ago.

This is my third or fourth Brooks Addiction shoe I have ordered. This shoe is totally different from the others I have enjoyed. The toe box is cramped and the shoe is too short..All the new padding around the ankle pushed my foot forward making the fit uncomfortable.

If you wear an 8.5 in Saucony you will want a 9 in these. Zappos, please adjust your size recommendations. This one runs short. Actually, I always have to buy a half size larger in Brooks to accommodate my third and fourth toes, but I didn't go with my gut and I should have. The toebox needs to be more rounded and less pointy in this style.

I have been wearing Brooks Addiction through numerous generations. After ACL repair, fallen high arches and overpronation issues, the wider base of shoes and extra cushion in heel area are extremely helpful for overpronation and stability. I have to wear custom orthotics so can't comment on original inserts. In my opinion the shoe box is narrow and normally wear a wide, so I had to order extra wide. I agree with previous review that Addiction 13 change to upper surround of heel area looks cheap and I'm not a fan. In my opinion, it was unnecessary to change previous design as it did not improve function or fit but cheapens a $130.00 shoe. Hope I don't get a hole in this area after wearing. Will purchase again as pros outweigh cons and is by far the best shoe I can find for overpronation.

This shoe has excellent arch support. The problem is my big toe was right up at the edge and bumping the front of the shoe. I wear a 10N. I tried that 10.5 and it was way too huge and the arch support didn't hit me right. I love this shoe though because it's nice and padded. I have to go with the Brooks Ghost 10. It has a much wider toe box, but not as squishy and comfortable.

I don't know why Brooks changed the fit of this shoe, but my old Addictions need replacing. This show was way too tight, sl too narrow, even a bit too short, compared w my usual size, 8W. Marathon Sports, where I bought it, said they didn't get any neg feedback, but I gave them the above info. They are ordering me an 8 ww, which should be in-store tomorrow afternoon. The heels also felt sl loose in the 8w. Guess I'll have to go back to the Adrenalines...the Addictions have more cushioning for me and my plastic orthotics and wide feet and overpronation. It's an arduous process to find the right running shoe, esp at my age, 65, and I still run although not as far or fast. Cushioning plus support are hard to find together in a running shoe. Brooks, you are dropping the ball here!

I am so disappointed. I have had 4 or 5 pairs of the Brooks Addiction 12. They fit beautifully and were extremely comfortable. I wore these exclusively when walking. Just received my new shoes, Brooks Addiction 13 and found they have redesigned. The shoe is now much too short, not wide enough and not comfortable. I am returning. By the way, prior to wearing the Addiction, I wore Brooks Aerial for a number of years. Had to switch to Addiction when they modified design on the Aerial. Not sure why manufacturers always think they have to change something and try to make it better. Now I am looking for a new shoe in another brand.

I have great difficulty in finding the right shoe with great support and a wide width. Even though I read the reviews about materials on the shoe cuff being below Brooks usual high quality, I chose to purchase hoping this had been corrected Wrong! Within 2 weeks small hole began to appear in exactly the same place as the photo gallery picture. I walk 7 to 8 miles per day and change my shoes approximately every 3 months. I continue to use them because the fit and support are excellent and I am ordering new shoes in a few weeks. But for those who do not purchase this often, I would suggest trying a different style. Let's hope Brooks identifies and corrects this problem in future shoes.

I have been running in Brooks Addiction shoes for years now and have always been very happy with the motion control that I’ve gotten from this model of shoe. However, this 13 was a horrible disappointment. I knew, as soon as I laced them up, that they weren’t going to work for me. I pronate and have knee issues which the Addiction has always controlled well. But these shoes pushed my foot out so that I instantly felt the pull on the outside of my knee. I’m so frustrated now because it took me forever to find the right shoe to keep me running and now I have to go through all of it all over again. My recommendation is, if you probate at all, steer clear of this shoe. I’ll keep running in my 12’s until I can find the right shoe.

I have naturally wide feet plus a dreaded bunion, so finding shoes that fit and are actually comfortable is a frustrating task. Even more difficult is finding athletic shoes that don't leave me in pain after 3-5 workouts weekly. I was addicted to the Brooks Ghost line until version 11 came out ... suddenly the D width wasn't wide enough and the great arch support was gone. I tried four other Brooks shoes before ordering this one — but I had to go with EE width to get great arch support and a pain-free fit through the toe box. The only issue is that to keep them from slipping slightly at the heels, I had to run the laces through the uppermost holes (you know, those ones that don't typically get used?) — making them too short to easily tie properly. I received my shoes today. I LOVE THEM!!!!!!! I have problems with my feet so I ordered a size larger in the EE width. Oh my goodness, what a difference, so roomy I could just slide into them. I can't wait to wear them on Saturday whenI do my 4 mile walk. First though, I would like to thank Mateo in Customer Service who helped me find the right size and fit. You're awesome!!!!! I have wide feet due to bunions. These shoes do not have a roomy toe box. Wide felt more like a medium width at best. The Adrenaline is a roomier nad more comfortable shoe.

I liked this shoe. First I ordered an 11 but the toe box was too small so I ordered the 11.5. They have good cushioning and support. Unfortunately, I am returning, sorry to say. I have worn these shoes only twice and they are already showing wear on the ankle area. The fabric is pilling and I can tell the craftsmanship and materials need to be better. I appreciate the comfort and padding but the materials used need to be better.

These are GREAT! DEFINITELY fit a half-size smaller, so had to order half size larger.The arch support was slightly higher than I was used to, so I wore them a couple of half-days around the house to get used to them, before deciding to keep them. They really are great. For years, I had been wearing only "Grandma Shoes" from SAS, because they were the only shoes that didn't make me have foot and leg cramps at night. My podiatrist told me to try these, and now I can wear "sneakers" with my capris, etc, and not look like a "Grandma!" I WANT to be a grandma, but not look like one! I wish they came in more colors.... I would buy them all!

I have two pair of the previous version and was worried about the 13. I LOVE the new one! Very well padded and comfortable on my long, narrow, bony feet. Love them!

Shoe felt comfortable & very cushiony for the short time it was on & great support for pronation, however runs extremely small. Originally ordered size 6.5 like I wear in every other shoe and it was way too small so returned the 6.5 & up sized to a 7 and my toes still touched the end of the shoe. Had to return the 2nd pair and Unfortunately it was not available in a 7.5. It is a little heavy & the shoestrings are a little short, but I was willing to work with that if it would have fit in length.
