I have RA and have been on a quest for comfortable shoes. My daughter recommended these...I tried hers on and they felt really good, so I ordered my own. They are probably the most comfortable shoes ever! Right now I have a very sore toe from an ingrown toenail, so there is pressure on that side, but I'm sure when the toe heals they will be perfect.

I have been wearing addiction for several years! They are perfect for my feet. For some reason this specific color pulls apart around the top where the teal fabric is on both shoes in every pair I have purchased ??

These shoes creak especially when I put my custom orthotics in them. My Addiction 12 work fine, but not these.

I have been wearing Brooks Addiction 13 since I started wearing orthotics about a year ago. They were recommended by my orthotics guy since they are one of the few shoes that come in wide to accommodate my big but effective inserts. I tried over the past months to find a more stylish sneaker in a wide size but none really were as comfortable as my Brooks. So after much ado, I purchased a second pair. Also love that they were on sale. Comfort trumps style!!

When I 1st opened the box, I thought they seemed a little bit heavy but not enough to make a big difference. After I put them on, I felt like I was walking on pillows they were so soft and comfy. However, the longer I wore them they began to feel heavier. Don't get me wrong, they were still very comfortable but heavier than what I wanted or need. Sadly I will be returning them. If shoe weight is not much of an issue for you, I strongly suggest these shoes because they are so VERY comfortable.

My foot measures 11C. 11.5W was too short in this shoe, but had plenty of room otherwise. My big toes hit the ends of the shoes. 4 stars overall because of shoe being short. I ordered black/pink/grey and love the look. There's no way to know how well they will hold up to use, but they're beautiful in this color combination. Will try 12W. Excellent stability for pronation control.

I have been wearing the Addiction 12 for over a year. I wear it with or without an orthotic and t is a very supportive comfortable shoe either way. With the 13 there is a much thicker cushy insole which unfortunately fills much more toe space - enough that I cannot wear it.. It feels like a half size too small in the toe. I will keep this pair though because I can replace the insole with my orthotic. I gave it 2 stars on style because the swoosh is flashy metallic silver and the new heel collar is overly large.

I have mixed feelings about these shoes. I have worn Brooks addiction for years, although I wear them with custom insoles. I have always worn a 7-1/2, but these feel a tad short. When I compare them to my Addiction 12's, the soles are exactly the same size. but I think that all the extra padding that is around the ankle is so big that it pushes your foot forward in the shoe, making it feel short. I will say that the fit seemed to improve after some wear, but it is a problem I have not had in the past. I have not had any problem with holes developing in the ankle area that others have noted, but I have always had similar holes develop after some wearing in all of my Addictions, primarily in the back of the heel and sometimes at the top of the toe.

I LOVE the style of these shoes, 9I got the but they just don't fit my feet as well as the Brooks Ghosts do. In my life, comfort trumps style, so back they go. Sigh.

Fine for a Brooks running shoe. Like the cushioning around the back. I need to remove the insoles for my hard plastic orthotics--would have preferred more cushioning in the base of the shoe.

This Brooks style fits OK. I am just about giving up on Brooks now, though. Ever since almost all the high-end running shoe designers have adopted this sort of "sock" textured style of design. Older Brooks styles had strips of firm, solid material sewn into the area providing structured support around the sides of your foot and over the top of the foot. These are being replaced by stretchy material that, for me, doesn't give the kind of solid support I need as a person who wants my foot to be stabilized in the shoe as I run, not moving side to side in this stretchy material.

I have a pair of Brooks Addiction 12s that fit very well and worked great for city walking. To my surprise, the Addiction 13s in the same size felt too tight and were uncomfortable so I returned them. Fortunately, Zappo's has a great return policy. When I tried on a pair a half size up, they fit well in parts of the shoe but the heel kept slipping. The design in general didn't seem as comfortable as the 12. The shoelace was also too short, although I could have accepted that. For me, the updated design made for a shoe that no longer fit right in any size. I can only hope they redesign this again so it fits.

This year's Brooks Addiction 13 is disappointing. I've been wearing this shoe for about 8 years and I have always had good success with the fit and comfort/support. This year I ordered two pair, one the silver with blue was a bit short and the pink was way too short. So I returned them and ordered one pair a 1/2 size larger. That pair feels a bit big, with the arch not fitting my foot in the right place. I've noticed that the left shoe is bothering my foot as well. Zappos has been great with trying to make this purchase work for me. Unfortunately, it looks like these will go back as well. I've heard that Brooks is changing the side support of the next model to plastic. They just shouldn't have messed with a good product.

The only shoes I have worn for over a decade are Brooks Addiction. I have overpronation, fallen arches, bunions and surgery to left knee making left leg slightly shorter now. I have custom orthotic insoles made which fit nicely into the Addiction as long as I order a size up to accommodate thickness. The predecessor Addiction models have been very well made and lasted, great quality. However, the Addiction 13 has formed a hole around the inner top of the shoe that wraps around ankle which is padded. The previous versions were not padded. The foam padding is now crumbling and a larger hole forms with each subsequent wear. I hope Brooks reads these reviews as they have failed miserably with the 13 – it’s an expensive hot mess! I won’t be purchasing 13’s again and will now have to shop for a new manufacturer. Thanks Zappos, for great customer service and lighting delivery.

I have worn Brooks addiction running shoes for years with great results. This pair seems slightly tighter than normal. I wear lifts and they fit easily in my old Brooks. This shoe is too tight with the lifts inserted. This shoe is gray, with turquoise trim. I am unable to loosen the ties enough to make the fit. Will have to remove the insert. Interestingly, I also purchased a pair of Brooks addiction 13 from a store and they are too short and tight. I will not be able to use them and have to return them. This is the gray with turquoise and pink. Why the difference???

It is narrower than standard size. I have wide front and is very tough to get shoes. I usually go with wide, but I have to go with extra wide here. I guess my feet is flatter, the mid-section squeeze my feet. Have to return it.

I had a pair of the Addiction 12s in size 6.5 that I loved. It had good support and helped me overcome Morton's neuroma. The new 13 is shorter and narrower due to a new design. It squeezes the ball of my foot. Not acceptable. The 7 is too large and my heel slips so I'm going with a different brand.

I've worn Brooks addiction for almost 10 years. I'm sorry their designers have fiddled with the shoe layout, forcing customers to increase sizes in order to accommodate their feet. This Addiction 13 version seemed promising until I put my left foot in it and my bunion was sharply awakened by the poor stitching location of several layers of material at the inside base of the tongue. It's unfortunate that Brooks is more interested in looks than functionality.

I agree with comments about this Brooks Addiction having a faulty fabric on the edge of shoe. Miserable choice by designer. The fabric self destructs after very little wearing time of shoe. I only wear my addiction to walk at fitness center. Something made with poor materials does not deserve high praise or great rating. The Brooks Addiction DOES have great support, but looks like a badly worn shoe within a few weeks and light wear.

The shoe is attractive and comfortable. The problem is with the "collar" of the shoe which opens or shreds with only light use. I do not run. I only walk and then less than 5 miles a week. Still the collar area split open in less than a month and seemed to be made of a fragile material. For this reason only, I would not recommend the shoe. It is disappointing because, as I mentioned, the shoe fits well and is comfortable. However, the collar issue makes it quickly become unsightly making it not a good value.

I was disappointed that this shoe was very narrow in the toe box & felt too short. Also did not feel the same high quality of construction as my Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18, which also fit perfect. I’ll be ordering another pair of GTS 18

I am a loyal Brooks user but I was truly disappointed with this shoe. After 5 days the fabric on the inner (arch side of the foot) ankle padding was shredded and exposing the padding beneath. Although this is my usual wear pattern, it usually does not occur until I have worn the shoes for 9-12 months which I chalk up to normal wear and tear. However, this occurred in less than one week which is completely unacceptable.

Disappointing...Brooks has changed things a bit too much...the shoe feels like they were trying to save money and skimp on materials...whole upper feels "scaled back"...I've worn Brooks for years (15??maybe) and am looking for something different!

I've been wearing Brooks Addiction almost exclusively for years, as I'm a severe overpronater and need to be able to fit an orthotic in the shoe. There is a distinct difference between the Addiction 12 and the Addiction 13. The orthotic doesn't fit as well as it did in the 12, the shoe feels stiffer and more cheaply made and is more difficult to get on and off. It feels like most of the cushioning is in the liner that I have to remove in order to fit the orthotic, rather than the shoe itself. Despite all this, the price has gone up. I'm very willing to pay a premium for a good shoe, but unfortunately this is no longer that shoe.
