I loved the cushioning and support. However after a couple weeks, the design made me turn my ankle a bit more than necessary when I walked. I started developing a tender ankle and am therefore returning these shoes.

I bought these after my older Brooks Addictions wore out. I have high arches and sensitivity to nerve pain near the ball of my foot. The older pair were recommended by my foot doctor and were perfect. However, when I wear the Addictions 13, I am in serious pain after an hour of just walking. No way could I run in them. I'm frustrated I paid so much and they are just going to sit in the closet gathering dust

Like others, I loved the Addiction 12. It has been the only shoe that gave me adequate arch support. The 13 leave my toes burning after only an hour of walking. I'm afraid to try running in them.

I have been using Brooks sneakers for years now, previously had the Ravenna shoe and loved it. These shoes are comfortable, stable and I like the extra cushion. The problem has been the quality of the fabric. I developed a hole on the right upper corner within a few months and on the side inner heel within a month. I've only had this shoe for a few months and need a replacement. I like buying quality shoes and this sadly was a disappointment.

Addiction 13 has to much padding which makes it uncomfortable. Bring back Addiction 10

Did not like these at all. We're very hard on my feet and legs. Very disappointed, I need a good sneaker for plantar fasciitis.Was told that these sneakers are the best.

I was so excited about these - my 4th pair of Brooks. I loved my first three pairs, but the Addiction 13 took it to a new level for me. I adored them. They were the most comfortable and supportive sneakers I have ever put on my feet. But then, less then 3 weeks in - the upper tore! I thought it was just a defective pair, and was getting ready to place an order for a replacement, but when I went through the reviews, I see that it is actually a recurring theme. So, I'll be looking for something else. How disappointing - I expected more from Brooks.

So I tried 3 different sizes of this shoe...my normal 8.5 and a 9.0 and 9.5. In the 8.5 and 9.0 the toe of the right shoe consistently pushed on my big toe and was painful. That didn't happen with the 9.5, but the arch was in the wrong place (of course, because the shoe was too long!) and that didn't work either. Aside from this issue, the Addiction was super comfy and I really liked it. But, obviously, I couldn't keep it. Sadly, Zappos doesn't have the Addiction 14, so I couldn't try that to see if the issue remains there.

I’ve worn Brooks Addiction for years and this is the first time my regular size didn’t fit. I should have read the reviews before I ordered them. My toes hit the front of the shoe. They weren’t just a little too small, they were a lot too small...so they are going back. ?

I have bought this brand for years. They changed the measurement in the toe area. Now much too tight. Very sad

This has to be the worst shoe I have ever tried! It is so big and ugly, but I was desperate for a comfortable walking shoe. However, the sizing is very off and/or this shoe just wasn't meant for my feet! I ordered numerous sizes in both medium and wide and none of them fit me. They felt shorter and more narrow the larger the shoe size! Very strange and frustrating.

I have been a devoted fan of Brooks Addiction for at least 10 years, buying 2-4 pairs of each model. Well, I don’t know what they did this time but the 13 is TERRIBLE! Every time I’ve worn them I actually have back pain afterwards. I agree with other reviewers that this model is stiff and cheaply made so you don’t get the cushioning and support of previous models. And they changed the sizing so my usual size was too small and next size a little too big. I hope they revert to the previous good design for 14 or I’m done. Trying to save costs with cheap material will lead to lost business. Customers can tell the difference!

This would have been my third pair of Addiction. However, they changed the style and they are horrible! They look cheap. They are narrower than my previous two pairs. The arches were both in the wrong spot. One arch was too far back and the other one was on the ball of my foot. I tried working out in them and they were so uncomfortable they made my feet cramp up. I thought it was just something I did, but it was the same workout I always do and I tried again a week later and my feet did the same thing. I hope Zappos will let me return or exchange them. Thank goodness Zappos usually has great customer service!

Brooks Messed With Perfection I’ve been delighted with Brooks Addiction. I’ve bought each model every year for the past 15 years. This time, they monkeyed with success. As a result, no stability for this overpronator. Very disappointing! Those shoes used to be awesome.

These weren’t the shoes for me. I will be returning them. I loved the arch support and liked the style, but the wide size was still too narrow. The toe box felt too small and too narrow, like I needed a half size larger but the heel was too wide and slipped. Too bad because the arch support felt like it would have really helped with my over pronation. I would recommend for someone with a narrower foot who needs arch support.

I have been a fan of the Addiction for years now but the 13 is terrible. I wish I had read the reviews before I bought them because now I have worn them too much to return. Silly me I just bought the newest version of the Addiction like I have been for years. In an effort to really try them I wore them around the house for a few days. Yesterday was the longest and I was in pain for most of the day. I tried different lacing strategies and nothing really helped. I woke up this morning with sore knees, ankles and back. Also, the laces were comically short, I couldn't even tie them! I wear a 6.5 2E which is a very hard size to find, so I am even more disappointed. I am so glad I had a pair of unworn 12s in my closet!
