I’ve been a true 8.5 wide with the Minimus for years. After reading some reviews, I decided to purchase the 9 wide and I’m so glad I did. With this shoe I could probably even go half a size up from that but no biggie. The problem with the shoe is that it is a tight fit; so much that I had to go shop for thinner socks. You know the feeling that something is slightly annoying but still deal with it? That’s what this shoe is to me. I like it but not in love with it. I can only wear minimus shoes and I’m kind of stuck until their next model comes out. They feel like they will loosen/stretch out a bit ?? I have lost 20lbs since my last order which was around two years ago and hopefully with more upcoming weight loss that will help alleviate the tightness.

I liked this shoe but they run small. I usually wear an 8.5 sometimes an 8. These ran small in size 8.5 for me. Otherwise, this sneaker is a great minimalist and the color and style is great.

I’ve been wearing the Merrell Pace Glove and picked the Minimus as a similar replacement. I wanted a shoe for traveling that would allow me to accomplish exploring (walking, light hiking, occasional running) while vacationing. I like the minimalist construction with some light support. I must say that previous reviews regarding sizing were very true. I had to go up a whole size compared to only a half size with other running shoes (Brooks, Saucony). The toe box felt wide in the medium width (like clown shoes), but I was able to wear a variety of socks with different thickness levels with no issues. I tested these out of the box on a 2 week trip to Patagonia and they did well on paved streets and light off road.

Love these shoes! I've had several minimus/vibram styles over the years, but this style, I found, runs small. Still comfortable and perfect for my morning workout routine.

I have been waiting to do a few walks in these shoes before reviewing. They get more comfy with each walk. This is the first Minimus shoes I have owned. Love feeling like I am barefoot.

With the plastic band that is located at the widest part of the foot, it makes the fit slighly more snug. New Balance Wide typically fits my foot perfectly. I would definetly get them to try them out. Super comfy everywhere else.

I ordered a size 7.5. However, i should have heeded previous reviews about ordering a half size up. I returned the 7.5 and got an 8.0 which feels very good on my feet. I haven't gone for a long run in them yet, but they feel very comfortable just for walking around.

I really wanted to like these shoes. They are light and fitted to your foot. sadly they are very narrow and ended up being uncomfortable. I had tried a pair on at a store but decided they were too small and ended up getting a half size larger at zappos as the store i was at didn't have any larger sizes. (initially tried on a 9, my usual size- sized up to a 9.5) Those were still too small/tight-- ended up getting a 10. much better in terms of tightness but ended up deciding there was not enough cushion to be comfortable for me as the bottoms of my feet hurt after wearing them inside for a relatively short period of time. there is not a lot of padding in this shoe-- which should be no surprise given the name... like others have mentioned-- the band around the ball of the foot is not really flexible and is just too tight. this was an odd experience for me as i have narrow feet. if you do decide to try these out definitely size up at least 1/2 size if not full size. worth checking out if you like a more minimal shoe for running.

Yes, order a size up. I've had the Minumus as a running shoe for several years now. I originally started in a 6.5. A few years ago I moved up to a 7 as the fit changed. So based on the reviews, I played it safe and only went up half a size. Nope. I'm now in an 8. Despite that, I love running in this shoe. I will say though, they are narrow. They fit me well, but I have narrow feet, so I can't really speak to how they would work for someone with Medium width feet. Having said all that, they are a great minimalist running shoe.

I was super excited to get this shoe as my husband has a pair of the men's minimus and even though they are a little big on me, they seem comfortable. I take an 11 wide, but unfortunately even the wide width was too narrow for me. I'll have to try the men's version to see if the width is better.

Fit was a little odd on the first wearing - but on second wearing after adjusting the laces some, it is pretty good. The wide is wide enough for my foot with a bunion, and fine on my other foot. There is a bit of 'slop' around my heels - but I do have narrow heels to go with a wide forefoot, this is not as bad as some other shoes I have tried. Also I can feel that these are not zero drop, but so far it's not bothering my ankles or knees. I will also note that these are remarkably warm shoes - my feet are quite warm today!

Super cute! Tried and 8 and 8.5 but still not fitting correctly. Probably could use a 9 (usually I wear size 8) but gave up and decided to stick with my current gym shoes

I love these shoes and have ordered a batch every year. This year's shoes, same style, same size are extremely tight. I'd get a full size larger next time

These seem to run a little smaller than earlier versions of this shoe. Some reviews mention they feel tight across the ball of the foot. I found that I really need to be sure my foot is all the way to the back of the shoe. This seemed to put my foot in the proper position and the shoe then did not feel snug. This is my 4th pair of this model of shoes. I was so happy to see them back and they do not disappoint.

Should have listened to all the reviews but I was nervous to go a full size larger and wider. I am normally a 7.5 med so I ordered an 8 M and saw immediately today when I received them how narrow they were and I had some difficulty pulling them on. My toes were right at the tip w/o socks and it was very snug on the width so I am exchanging them for 8.5 W and Zappos was very gracious to expedite my exchange for tomorrow. Otherwise, they are very cute and the tornado/storm blue is pretty and a lot like a teal with hot pink accents. Looking forward to wearing them!

I wear a size 7 1/2 usually in a wide. My feet are wide-ish but not extremely wide. These shoes have a great toe box. It is shaped like your foot and the width was perfect. I first bought them in a 7 1/2, but I noticed my second toe, which is slightly longer than my big toe was touching the end, without socks, so returned them for an 8 W. However I had the same problem with the 8 W, with a really thin pair of socks on. Probably I could go to the 8 1/2, but then I think they may actually be too long for my foot and I would have the tendency to be tripping over my toes. The problem, for me, was that the depth of the toe box, right where the second toe goes, is minimal. Otherwise the shoe was extremely comfortable, very flexible, and felt truly great to walk in, and has really great traction. The tongue of the shoe is actually one-piece with the shoe, so if you had an extremely high arch you may find it a bit hard to get the shoe on. My arch is moderately high and I found them just OK to put on. A really nice shoe, just slightly thin at the end of the toe box for my foot.

I absolutely love these shoes! The problem now, however, is the band across the upper instep. Having this decorative band there causes these shoes to be unforgiving in the width. I bought the wide, but it was not wide enough. Had the band been more elasticized, then I think they would have been PERFECT! New Balance.....your original design was great....fix the band and these will be great too! - Boise

I wanted to like these so much since they remind me of my favorite every shoes - the discontinued Merrell Pace gloves. Unfortunately, the toe box is tiny -- even in wide -- and the arch (which I love in theory) is so far forward it presses against the ball of my big toe. I can jam my foot forward into the shoe to get the arch in place, but then there is a gap at the heel. Not sure whether trying it in another size would help as the fit is so different from the shape of my foot.

I am a solid 9. Ordered one size up based on reviews and trying 1/2 size up. Even with one size larger bottom of toes are rubbing against bottom inside seam. Really frustrated right now. Love the style and light weight aspect. Not sure if I can wear these shoes! Walked 2 miles and experienced the “rubbing”. Would like to try 10-1/2. Wondering if this shoe qualifies for the new one month trial program...

I like these shoes. I want a shoe with minimal arch support, a wide toe box, minimal drop, and light weight. These are almost perfect. I would say that they still are not quite wide enough to accommodate a bunion--and they run very small. Normally, a wide shoe allows me to drop down a half-size, as I buy big to find width; but in this shoe, I had to go up a half-size from my usual. I wore these for a long, easy trail run on hard surfaces and for a Ragnar relay in Tahoe, on mostly soft surfaces, but running very hard. My feet were pretty sore after, but the shoes felt great while I was running. Light and responsive. Just be aware that if you are not used to running in a zero-drop shoe with minimal cushioning, you must go very slowly as you adapt to these (or any shoe like it).

This is my second pair of these shoes. They are popular therefore hard to come by. When I ordered they were out of stock so myself on their list and within a week received e-mail that they were in. Wasted no time in ordering. Usually wear 9 but 9(1/2) fit in these. Great looking, not bulky and light. Now I have a black pair and a blue pair. Happy me....order them!!!!

I wanted to love these minimal trail shoes. I’ve run in Vibram Five Fingers and some Altras and was looking for a trail shoe that I could wear both to run and hike. I have short wide feet and heard these shoes might fit well...not so. I’m normally a 7.5 and initially ordered them in an 8 wide, then 8.5 wide and finally 9. The 8s felt very short (left toe hitting the end), the 8.5 felt a little short, and the 9s were too long. Sadly all went back and I ran the trails in my Five Fingers.

I have had previous versions of this shoe that were fantastic. The current version is significantly narrower than previous editions. I don't particularly like the hard plastic tabs that come up on either side of the widest part of my foot. They are somewhat uncomfortable. Still, these are the best minimal hiking shoe I have found. I had to get one full size larger than my normal size, and as I said, they are narrower than expected.
