I have an older version of this shoe, the MX20BR4, that I've liked very much. When I needed a fresh pair, I ordered this model as the old model was discontinued. However this time I chose a 1/2 size larger (11.5 EE -> 12 EE) as the old shoes just fit. The new pair arrived last week and were no larger than the old, and notably narrower. The construction, though flashier, resulted in a less comfortable shoe - some protrusion in the heal irritated my foot. This might have been a one off-defect, but the narrowness is probably true of all these shoes.

I ordered the EE to be sure of a wide toe box, these were narrower than my regular D Merrell Bare Access runners. I'll be returning these, a shame because I like the style and sole traction

I always buy from here, 12.5 2E and they've always fit well, it's larger than my normal size 11 but I have wide feet and it says "This shoe runs small. We suggest ordering a half size larger than your usual NB size." I got this in the mail quick enough but when I went to put them off it was so narrow I couldn't even get my foot in, so it's never been worn. I tried to return them to get a bigger size and get the 4E as I wanted these hiking shoes, but it wouldn't let me return then, so now I have shoes that I can't even put on and I'm out the money.

I have size 10-10.5 feet and I bought 11 wide and it's still too short. After wearing it about an hour, my feet are killing me. Also, the wide is not really that wide because this is the only shoe I've ever bought a wide in and it's still narrow by the front of my feet.

I have size 10 feet, maybe 10.5. I bought size 11 and they are still too small. Also, I bought the wide (2E) and yet still too narrow.

The longer this company is in business the no more narrow their shoes become! Their "wide" shoes now are far more narrow than the standard width from 2014 and prior. Bring that back if you knowwhat's good for you new balance!

I ordered the shoes and they arrived in a couple days but did not fit. I printed the return label and sent the shoes back the next day. It's been over a week since I returned the shoes and I have not had any feedback from the balance. I did call New Balance and they said the shoes had been received but would send me a notification once they were logged into the warehouse. That's been 5 days ago and still no information from New Balance. From an online retailer standpoint they really need to step up their game

These were a let down, very disappointing. I was expecting the fit of the older version. These run small and narrow. The toe box is tight. I bought the wide an it's still tight. The materials are also stiffer than they used to be.

the sizing was correct but they are so small can not even get feet in then even without socks. even in wide size they would not fit. to your credit the return policy worked well and i received a credit for the return. I have bought plenty of your shoes over your web site and never had a problem before.

I wear size 9 US wide. I ordered size 9 2E, but was disappointed with the very tight fit. My daughter tried it and fit her fine, she wears size 40 in women !!!!

I had these about 5 or 6 years ago and used them for crossfit, one of my all time favorite shoes. Purchased these on November 28th. Was given a size 10 to try on one foot, and a 10.5 on the other. Went with the 10.5 the associate at the NB store quickly boxed them up, pressured me to buy some socks and sent me on my way. Lesson learned, because when I got home go try them both on something felt wrong. One of the shoes has a misaligned sole and is defective. Hopefully I am able to return them without issue, of course I still have my receipt I will find out in a few hours when they open. I just had too much faith in NB I guess. From now on and forever I will be thoroughly inspecting both shoes in a box prior to purchase. What happened to quality control?

SENT THEM BACK!!! Wanted a comfortable pair of shoes to wear to the gym or walk around town. THESE WERE NOT THEM. Barely could get my foot in them even tho I ordered a size larger. Overall total disappointment but so HAPPY with Zappos return policy.
I'd also recommend:
Asics...my son recommended them and they are just what I needed

I'm usually a 9.5 wide in shoes. So like the website advised, I ordered 1/2 size larger (10 wide). My foot was pouring over the size of them. Also, just about 0 cushion. This is more like a training shoe that's a running shoe as they promote.

I ordered a men’s 13 wide. Toe box is shaped kinda weird so it’s still narrow at the little toe. I have a pair of Merrell Trail Gloves that are a 13 regular and are comfy/wider, for comparison. Be wary if you have good toe splay or wide forefoot.

I hate these shoes. Too tight, zero support, really slick on surfaces that aren’t 100% dry. NBs are generally good shoes. Not these.

What happened to New Balance? All of their shoes are for people with high arches and skinny feet. They used to be my favorite, now I cannot wear even the wide. What a shame.

I wear these to the gym, and I love them when it's leg-day. Pretty thin sole, somewhat breathable. Not ideal for the treadmill. I had one of these models (bought back in 2011) and that one lasted me (with standard gym use) for some 4-5 years. These do feel to run about a 1/2 size to small, but that could be my big-toe talking, since it likes to aim upwards a whole lot when I walk.
