Love the shoe but unfortunately I had to return them. I normally wear a size 9 shoe. However, I ordered a size 9.5 since I planned to use them on a long hike/walk (The Way of St. James in Northern Spain - 500 miles). As we all know, your feet swell up during long walks; hence the 1/2 size bigger than I normally wear. The shoe felt tight around the foot thus becoming bothersome. I know they normally give out a bit during normal wear but I was concerned that with thicker socks it would be a big problem. Sorry I had to return them since I really loved the shoe and New Balance in general. I wish they would make it a bit wider.

It's one of the best shoes I've ever worn, I just wish they would make them in a 4E width (which is why I'm only giving 4 stars).

As most other reviews have stated, this shoe runs narrow and short! I wear a 2E (extrawide) for all NB shoes w/ some extra space and sadly had to return these (they squeezed my toe box painfully).
The shoes tested out very well when doing some short bursts in my home and think they'd make an excellent trail runner. However, the appearance was a little less than what I'd consider acceptable to be worn in casual clothes. It's not that NB tries to claim that they could be worn casually, but I was hoping to wear them in a very laid-back casual dress office setting. These are really only visually "acceptable" for exercise scenarios.
Still, seemed like a great shoe! Wrong fit for me.

I've been wearing New Balance Minimus shoes for years, and I generally love them. These seem to run a half size small and narrower. My old pair is an 8M and fits perfectly. This pair is and 8.5M and still slightly narrow, but not uncomfortably so (at least I hope not.) The older pair didn't stretch (didn't have to, it fit like a second skin.) I hope this pair stretches just slightly.
At least they got rid of the heal spur they built into my old pair. (Yes, I've seen riding spurs that were shorter!) Anyone who needs that much heel protection shouldn't be wearing these. For this type of shoe, New Balance must understand that form follows function. These are not a fashion statement, or meant to be "cool" looking. They are minimalist running shoes, nothing else.

I bought this shoe so that I could start running on some trails while using more of my feet muscles. I have some really wide feet and was happy that they offered this shoe in 2E. The fit is a little snug at first but after a couple days of wearing them, they fit like a glove (more like a sock! haha). I'm really happy with them overall. Just one little thing I didn't care for. There is a reinforced band that goes across the base of the toes and that is right where my foot is the widest. I can feel some pressure there after a long day of wearing them. I think that that little piece needs to be widened more. Overall I love them.

I do a lot of carriage road & trail running and hiking in Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island in Maine. This often entails slippery conditions over rocks, roots, moss and mud. Having mixed experience with other running shoes in these conditions, intrigued by the concept of the minimal running shoe, I decided to try a pair of the NB Minimus Trail 10. My usual size for running shoes (e.g. NB 880) is 9D US. After reading the description, reviews and getting advice from one of the NB chat agents, I decided to go with 9.5D US (half size larger, normal width) for the Minimus. The grip, flexibility and overall traction of the Minimus is fantastic! I've been using the shoes daily for about three months now and so far they've held up well under demanding conditions. I love the natural feel and connectivity to the ground of these minimal running shoes. The only problem (and reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) is that after a few miles into my hike or run, I start feeling a sharp pinch on the outside of my right foot near the little toe. There is a sold band running over the front top of the shoe that attaches to the sole on either side. I've run my finger on the inside of both shoes in that area and can feel a loose flap of material on the left shoe but not on the right. At this point, I don't know if that is defect in the shoe or the result of constant rubbing of my foot. It could be that my left foot is a little larger than my right but I'm not sure a 2E wide would solve my problem without creating other issues for my feet. Overall, I love these shoes but hate that little pinch.

I use these as general walking shoes and as work shoes. I am disappointed that New Balance got rid of the zero drop trail runners.

Shipped promptly. Just the shoe I was after, and appear well made. Waiting on 1/2 size larger from NB, which will be a full size up from my usual. Fingers crossed.

I've had them for 2 weeks and have used them twice on hikes through wet and rocky terrain. The adhesion on the left pair are coming apart at the toe and the side. I've had to glue the soles, so they don't get worse. I'm disappointed as these are my first New Balance sneakers. They look and feel great on hikes though.

I have worn these and the 910s on and off for a couple years. I use them mostly for day to day, but occasional exercise. Only issue I have is the rubber band around the forefoot. When wearing the first few times, the band is tight. But does loosen some. WOuld think issue in restricting splay in the forefoot for a minimalist shoe.

I am on my third pair of Minimus shoes. I really like them. I would have given five stars except for the area over the joint of my left big toe that pushes into the joint when I first put them on.

looking for the gloves for my feet. Feet are everything for your bodies support. This shoe could use less geometry on the sole so as not to attract dirt. Seems everyone is cycadel-ing the sole. Less detail for the sole so as to not attract dirt. I would almost have to say the shoe runs a full size small.

Love the color and the style. Thankful that I ordered the wide width and a 1/2 size up. The shoe has a "stability" like feature that is uncomfortable, especially since I have wide feet. I hope that after several outdoor adventures they will be like my old minimus.

These are very narrow. I ordered the wide and it felt narrower than my regular width shoes. I tried the men's wide, but it was still too narrow. The leather strap part of the shoes was uncomfortable to me. Too bad, because they are so cute!

New Balance Minimus has always been a great trail shoe, and the latest are super light, snug fit, natural feeling on the trails, with just enough protection up front. I hope the big toe area holds up, as some prior models have worn out in that spot prematurely.

Size 12 is snug on my 11 1/2 foot with only room for a very thin sock. Otherwise they are great. I might order 1 pair of 12 1/2 for cold weather.

It is true these shoes are quite narrow (as other reviewers have stated), but I love the the minimalist feel. I feel more connected to the ground. They remind me of my days Ninja training in Japan. Well done, New Balance & thank you Zappos.

Never wore a size 12 until now - usually an 11. But they feel good, much like the original that I had years ago.

Let me start by saying these shoes are a little tough to nail down the size. Read a ton of reviews before purchasing, some said order 1/2 size up some said 1 size up. For me a 1/2 size up was the sweet spot but results may vary. Either way you’re getting it from Zappos so that won’t be a problem. I believe these guys are the best in the biz in customer service. The shoes were a little narrow so I went with a wide (my saucony are all standard width). The shoes look great, are very breathable, and lightweight, might be a challenge to find the right fit but once you do I have no doubt you’ll like these shoes.

I like that it feels as if I'm barefoot but, they are too narrow. I just started using minimus type shoes because of problems with my feet. This shoes need to need to have a wider toe box. With this they would the perfect shoe.

I was a fan of the original NB Trail Minimus. When they were discontinued I was quite disappointed. As a personal trainer and strength coach I am on my feet all day. That can be challenging since I have a very painful foot condition. It seems like I’m always looking for the right footwear. One morning a client came in wearing the NB Trail Minimus new version. And thanks to a different client they sent me to Zappos. To my surprise here were the shoes I’d been looking for for many years...and in different colors as well. Only draw was the sticker shock I experienced. Regardless, I bought them. I’ve worn them through 2 12 hour shifts and they’ve been great. Only toward the end of each shift did the bones on the pinky toe side of my foot become very painful. Don’t know anything that would change this. As soon as I save up I plan to purchase another pair.
