Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
Got these for my mom but this size did not fit as well as hoped. A women's size tall actually worked the best. However, these are very nice and do have a L and R on the zippers so you never need to figure out which one goes on which leg.

The only drawback to this particular style was the length, other than that they're one of my favorite pants to wear especially in a region where it rains two to three days a week

Great travel gear. A little bit expensive, but worth.

Great pants. Have purchased these pants a while back and had a left rear pocket but the new ones do not. Not happy since North Face changed the design. Like to have a left rear pocket along with a right rear pocket.

I really liked this pants. I did an overnight hike and camp. On the way up to the campsite, we got rained on. I put my iPhone in the front pocket to test the water resistance and not a drop got on my phone. When I got to the campsite the sun showed it's face and my shorts dried in minutes. At night when the temperature dropped I put on the pants legs. The zipper is colour coded with the shorts zipper (brilliant design) which helped tremendously. throughout the night because my pants legs were long the zipper portion came off because of the excessive stepping on the pants legs. In the morning, I removed the pants legs and hiked back down. I love the product and would recommend it.

I have been wearing North Face Paramount Hikers for many years, this is the 5th iteration that I have had I think! I have been happy with all versions except the previous version to these which I gave a negative review of, and I would never buy that version again! In fact I have been searching for alternatives from time to time. My two biggest beefs with the previous version was #1 - the low rider waist style! Walking around with your pants constantly falling down might be cool in the urban rapper scene, but that's the LAST thing you need when hiking, canoe tripping, snow shoeing etc etc!!! Obviously North Face fired the idiot that designed those because this latest version has a normal waist line ...much appreciated!! As soon as I saw that on the web pictures I ordered a pair to check them out. Very Comfy!! Also took care of complaint #2 by enlarging the two front cargo pockets back up to full size like on the older styles ...maybe even bigger! The pockets on the last version were reduced and my passport style travel wallet would not fit entirely inside on those. This latest version looks very stylish on the body with a slimmer looking profile. I'm 5'9" tall weighing 160 lb and the medium regular length fits me perfectly! I wear the Paramounts exclusively ...to the office, going out, outdoor recreational pursuits etc etc. Only negative I see is the zippered right side pocket no longer has a zipper closure which all previous versions had. I always carry my keys there and nice to have the zipper for security. However the pocket is nice and deep so maybe will be fine , just need to remember to careful when removing the pants and tossing them around that the keys don't fall out! Nothing's perfect but I know I will be much happier with these than I was with the previous style. I will be ordering a few more pair soon

I used to own a few pair of the paramount convertable pants. They all burned in the fire in paradise i purchased 2 more. Dissapointed that they do not have the hidden deep pocket with a zipper anymore. I really wish the warranty would have covered fire.

Have bought these hiking pants in the past and loved them. Old pair was just too worn out to keep so I ordered the latest version. I noticed immediately they were a bit baggier but not a problem. The biggest issue is with the pant leg size at the bottom/at the shoe. As these are hiking pants you want them to cover your shoe top easily so burrs and stuff stay iut if your shoes when hiking in brush/grass. These are so tight at the bottom they have a hard time staying over your shoes a bit and end up bunched up on top of your shoe, allowing stuff to get in and the rest is history. Making the opening at the bottom a bit bigger would be a great addition/help.

Use these all weekend long if possible. Like that they are easy to put on after swimming and can turn into shorts as needed. New ones don't have same cargo pockets on left/right legs for legs when using as shorts. Has only one rear pocket. While these fit pretty well the waist seems slightly tighter and length seems slightly longer for the Large/Reg. Would like something a bit more fitted in the leg. Have two previous versions - 10+ yrs and 5+yrs. Pockets seem to be biggest problem as stitching gives out on back pockets. Will have to see how this pair does.

Use the size fitter then drop down one. Length seems true. It showed I should get a large but that almost falls off my waist. Immediately returned and ordering medium. Prices are inflated from other similar brands but sale pricing is in line with similar brands. Gave three stars from North Face inflated brand pricing.

Wanted the Paramount Peak II but with the II no longer in the line bought the III. The fit is slightly tighter with the updated look. Like the look- lacks the pure comfort of II but we'll see. Wish the cargo pockets were still a thing. This one zipper and both on the front just feels off. Will give them a chance but just wanted the II's I loved. Just saying- if real people with sway read these reviews you should bring the II back. Maybe there's room in the line up for both?

I took these pants on a five day hike in Colorado. The first day I wore the pants at my hips and the crotch of the shorts started rubbing my thighs a lot. The second and third day I wore them I had to pull up the pants and tighten them around my stomach which then allowed the crotch to be in the right spot, but made my waist feel awful and the pants to short. The other days I wore some other TNF shorts.

After getting these pants decided not to give to my BF. Not stretchy. Look kinda nerdy-think commuter, computer geek. I returned them.

These pants are tailored more for looks than function. The leg openings in the shorts are too small for comfortable hiking -- they grab your thigh as you walk. They previously were made wider. The material shed rain well and they seem durable. The zippered pocket and the cell phone pocket are nice. I like that they provided a belt with a flat clasp, which fits nicely under the hip belt of my pack. They are probably OK for travel but would not buy them again because of the problem with the shorts. It would be great if the shorts had a gusset that could be opened with a snap or Velcro when you hike and closed for normal walking with the pull pants. All the other makers seem to have fallen into this fashion over function trap. I'm disappointed in North Face for this one.

Pants fit well around waist and length but did not like how loose/baggy they felt. I prefer a closer fit and the they felt more like snow pants than everyday use. If you like a relaxed/ loose fit these pants will be just fine for you.

I love Northface convertible pants I have had lots of them over the years. It seems like each generation is made with cheaper materials. I just got a new pair and noticed the signature north face logo on the left leg was not a patch bit a cheap rubbery stamp that will prob wear off making it look horriable. Not only does it match the pants but it is black on a tan pair of pants. Damm north face. Other then that they seem to not be made as well as they should be back. Hopefully you fix these problems with these pants ASAP

I returned them because they were a bit too oversized and the product felt a little lower quality then most of my other TNF products
