This jacket performs very well against far pricier rain jackets. It keeps you dry in most any wet weather, with just the right amount of room for a thicker baselayer when it's cold out. Any overheating that I have experienced can be quickly alleviated by opening the ventilation zippers. The adjustable hood is also a nice feature as it allows for a snug fit no matter your head size or use of headwear.

After too much rain it will start to soak and feel humid

Ture to the online description while feeling comfortable. Unfortunately the size just didn't fit me but it's size chart was correct.

This is a nice, lightweight, waterproof jacket. The fit is a little big for my taste, but that's how it goes with a lot of rainwear. I would love to see a slim fit version. Bottom line - it keeps me dry.

I bought this jacket to try a layering system instead of one thick jacket for the winter. I live in a city environment and will say that if used correctly, the Venture 2 is a very useful tool against winter weather. The jacket is an excellent rain jacket that will keep your down jacket dry in the rain. It does stop wind from entering, I would say 95% of the time because of the neck opening but if used with a scarf or neck gaiter will be 100% effective.

Given that this is a North Face jacket, I must assume it's durability over time, but I've only just acquired it. It feels flimsy, but we'll see. Otherwise, this thing is straight up amazing and everything it's billed to be! It feels a bit big to me based on my expectations. I'm 6'1", 205lbs and formerly athletic, so maybe broader shoulders, arms, etc. I have a 36" waist and the online sizing tool told me to get an XL. Knowing I prefer a closer fit, I opted for a Large instead. It still is several inches around my body too large and 2-3 inches too long all around. Not a deal breaker as I can layer here in Chicago.

Must have proof of return for refund as warehouse has no record. A pain to have to follow up and ask for your money back... when merchandise has been returned for 10 days

I use this for doing barn chores. Appears waterproof, certainly better than what I was using. Would be so much better to have 2 way zippers and to be a bit wider at the bottom. Feels restrictive, not sure I can get a sweatshirt underneath. Otherwise I like the jacket but those points would have made it Five Stars for me. And at that price should have been in the design to begin with!

I like that the jacket is packable. I use it for hiking, cycling and wet weather.

I live in Vancouver, the rain capital of North America, and I've worn this the Venture for 10+ years. It is ridiculously waterproof, light, breathable, and stylish. (I love the addition of heathered colours!) Once you try this, it will be tough to wear anything else. The only downside is that its hood has an awkward fit when you're not wearing it, especially if you zip the collar all the way up. I wish they'd use the same hood on the Resolve. That being said, the Venture is a superior rain jacket that won't let you down.

This is a great jacket. If I had followed North Face's fitting advice it would have been a better fit, however, for the length of the jacket, the sleeves are ridiculously long, especially for a size small. I would have added the adjustable sleeve length to this one.

The product is very nice, I especially like it for urban/ everyday use. It's a solid performing jacket outdoors, too, but I found it a bit less packable and lightweight than some other rain jackets on the market. However, I don't believe it was intended to be a super lightweight, high-performance alpine jacket, so at its price point, I believe it does exactly what it was intended to do. Solid jacket overall.

Just got this jacket a week ago and used it for two 80 degrees rainy days in NYC.
seems fine as of now.
light, not hot, easy to fold into a small package and have around.
for now it stops that rain which is the only thing it is supposed to do. so great!

I usually wear men's size large. Ordered mine online and it was way too big. Considering that Northface doesn't rate this jacket for warmth, I was expecting to receive something made of umbrella fabric or similar material, but instead, it's substantially thick, kind of an overkill because it does get super warm and they know it, hence the armpit zippered openings. If its pouring, you'll be okay, because the cold water can keep you cold, but if its not raining hard, you'll be somewhat uncomfortable.
It comes equipped with one of the pockets doubling as a pouch to stow the jacket. Northface didn't bother explaining a good method to do so. Youtubers just tell you to flip the pocket that has zipper handles both outside and inside and stick the jacket inside it. It's not pratical or better than a separate pouch, and the awkward process feels like abusing the jacket doing something you're not supposed to do. It fits too tight and I can forsee this zipper breaking if I continue doing this. The end result isn't even much more compact than rolling the jacket up and stowing it inside it's own hood, something you can do and undo in a fraction of the time.

I ordered the xs, normally wear size small, since the sleeves are long.

I had the original venture and got this as a replacement. It has a much better fit than the first design. It is light and definitely wind and water proof. If I had one negative it would be the sleeves a little on the long side but that will vary by person.

I have now bought three of these! I loved mine so much i got one for my husband and now my father. I have worn mine in downpours and every inch that was covered came out dry. It's light weight so it's perfect for the summer storms. Its also perfect for amusement parks, because they pack so tight that they can fit in a fanny pack and you can pull it out for the water rides and not have to walk around with a sopping wet shirt. The only problem I have had with them is getting small rips. Mine when a puppy jumped on me and my husband when we were hiking and a small twig snagged him. I did however try other top brands after I got a hole, and was greatly disapointed in how not waterproof they were so returned to this jackett. I have stayed more dry even with the small rip, so I highly recommend this jacket. My dad, husband, and I all love ours. Plus they make good gifts because everyone will be caught in the rain at somepoint

I initially got the medium and it was almost comically big. I'm about 5'7" 160 lbs and in decent shape, but the sleeves were huge - long and just very big. I switched to a small and so far have been liking it - haven't had much of a downpour yet to wear it in, but it was good on a windy day and a misty day so far.

Bought this jacket for backpacking. Packs really well and feels very comfortable although I haven't gotten to use it in the elements I'm very excited to do so. For the price you can't go wrong if you need something in the wilderness when mother nature lets you have it.
