Most honest review you'll find. I've had this jacket for a couple years. It's a nice jacket, but it is NOT waterproof or windproof as advertised. It is a very light jacket and will stop an incredibly light wind and is water resistant in light rain. Medium or heavy wind or rain will go right through this jacket. I use it for cycling in the early morning, or as a stylish jacket to wear on breezy spring/fall days. Make sure to wash this jacket every couple of weeks, as the lining can deteriorate if you sweat in it too much.

The venture 2, is the best jacket! Year round use, the jacket is perfect. I’ve got many of these jackets (I have a collection of various colours!) - the Venture 2’s most recent jackets probably the best. The material is very light, crisp, wind proof, rain proof (snow proof if you need)! Creases fall out, packable (if needed), well ventilated / breathable! Pop it on over a T-shirt on a chilly morning for a level of protection. Or put on top of a full outfit in rain. In cold weather, layer it up as an outer layer. If you’ve more than 1, I’ve found you can layer both over a T-shirt on colder days too for extra protection / body heat trapping. So flexible! Perfect fit too. Ever so slightly bigger I’d say, but that’s good if you need to layer. If you’ve left the hoodie at home and it’s gone cold night, you’ve space to get your arms inside! I’ve purchased the limited edition mallard blue from Zappos! I’m looking for some more colours to add in the next few months! The jacket features two very large zip pockets externally, and there’s two external pockets. There’s an adjustable waist and fully adjustable large hoodie. The high neck has a soft fleece to the front for comfort too. Inside is nothing too fancy, very smooth on the skin, it’s just an outer layer. The material has a slight raised surface (half layer) which gives breathability. The cuffs can be adjusted (Velcro). Material is made of nylon, very small ripstop squares (which is a good thing), and can’t be seen unless close up. I wear XL! Highly recommended.

I absolutely love this jacket. I bought it as a jacket to cut the wind, a very light shell. I did not buy it as a "rain jacket", but if it was breathable - then gosh I got everything I ever wanted. And I really really did! This is the best hiking/get caught in the rain jacket I have ever owned at a fraction of the price I thought I would need to pay to get both water resistance and breathbility. The pit zips are full zips - and I just hiked in the rain with them down and did not get wet at all. I use this for everyday colder fall hiking, and expect it is the only jacket I will wear over a 3/4 zip medium weight shirt for winter. NOTES: I am female with very wide shoulders, run body temperature hot, and don't hike below 15F. I also only typically hike 4-10 miles, but hike most days. Everything else I've ever had I started sweating in, even though it was just a light shell. I actually only write reviews if I hate or love a product and I love this jacket. Tempted to buy another one for the future right now. I was expected only some water resistance, based on other reviews - but I just went out for 90 minutes in the rain and it didn't soak through or make me sweaty. I really really love this jacket! Please don't ever stop making it! My daughter borrowed it yesterday to run in. She runs cold (opposite of me), and ran with three layers under this and didn't get sweat soaked either. (I had her wear it over her clothes because it is bright yellow and she was running on the road and I didn't want her in only dark clothing.)

It's great in the rain and I love the fact that it's very light. It doesn't make me feel hot, but it keeps me very dry.

I bought this jacket 2 weeks ago for the rain season and it has been performing perfectly so far. I've been in 3 storms since I've received it and my clothes and body have stayed completely dry underneath, while being cool and breathable. Would highly recommend this for yourself or a gift.

Overall quality looks good but it only has 1 layer, the interior color is just a print on the back of the outter layer. But I'm confident as it The North Face brand.

This is a great rain jacket and can serve as a great outer shell over a fleece in colder weather. At the current price point, this jacket is a very good value.

Great jacket, super light and water repellent. Not for super cold temperatures, so search elsewhere for a warm jacket. But if you want to repel the wind and rain this will do it!

Light and legitLove it! TNF quality is combined with light and rain proof windbreaker. It's great on any rainy day, but also keeps heat in when layered on any cool day. This is my go-to jacket for any day.

Bought this as a light coat for sunny, cold, groomer days. It was perfect. Very light but completely cuts all wind. Initially thought it might be way too light and almost returned it without even trying. Glad I did not return it. It is the prefect addition to my ski attire. Very pleased.
