Merrell messed up. Why on earth do these companies think that they must always 'improve" an already popular product is beyond me. I guess the marketing gurus tell them that we the masses love the words "new and improved" and are willing to pay more each year. If you are a loyal original Moab follower, don't waste your time on these. It's a totally different feel all around and its not for the better.

Most uncomfortable shoe I have ever had. Feels like I'm standing on concrete.

The Moab Ventilator II is a very different shoe than my beloved original Moab Ventilator. I am very disappointed that Merrell has changed the original Moab Ventilator into one that I can no longer wear, due to the arch support being moved to have way the hill. Each year for several years I have bought a new pair of original Moab Ventilators. I have found NOS of the original Moab Ventilator online, but realize that this will probably be the last pair. I will not buy a pair of shoes that do not fit and the Moab Ventilator II's do not fit due to the improved arch support. Not sure what I will do next year but hope there is a Moab Ventilator III that will fit more like the original Moab Ventilator.

Have moab 1 for years and that was the only shoes not causing any pain in th e back or my flat feets. Now upgraded to moab 2 and the pain is back, my feet my back after few hours can't wait to get home to take off this shoes, also feets are so wet not cool as in original moab and no support to arch at all. Do not know why marrell did this and destroyed the perfect moab 1 with removing them and upgrading them with this. Maybe cost saving I guess it cost less to made this new one but not good and I wish j can buy 10 more moab 1 for years to come. Will throw this one in the garbage cant stand any longer in them.makes me so nervious from the pain that it is causing .

Disclaimer, I do have an injured foot. There were a bunch of pressure points along both feet and this shoe was so uncomfortable I couldn't take more than a few steps around the store. Don't bother if you need it in wide or want something truly comfortable

I usually love Merells and do a fair amount of hiking. However, this pair feels like there's gravel in the soles. No can do.

I owned more than a dozen Merrell MOAB Ventilators before Merrell replaced them with the MOAB 2. The MOAB was the best pair of shoes I have worn in a long time. The MOAB 2 is junk in comparison. I don't know what changed but I can not tie the MOAB 2's tight enough to keep my heel from moving up and down in the shoe when I walk. If you liked the MOAB, stay away from the MOAB 2.

I have a wide foot and bought this shoe in 2013. I have used it for four years and enjoyed it. Now I replaced it with an new one of exactly the same size and found that it is not as wide as used to be. My foot started hurting after using the shoes for about three days. I won't buy Merrell again unless they change their design for the wide shoes.

I purchased the Walnut color of these shoes. They arrived and were a dark grey / green color - clearly not the Walnut. I verified the part number on the MOAB with Merrell Customer Support. It is the correct part number for the Walnut color, but is the wrong color! My concern is if Merrell doesn't even have enough quality control to get the color right, what else is wrong with these new version of the MOAB 2 shoes.
