I have owned many pair of Merrell boots and shoes. Where the tread meets the side of the shoe is already coming apart after only five miles of light walking. Hopefully this is not the new standard for Merrell. Hopefully they can be exchanged.

Worst pair if Merrill's I've ever bought. I've bought at least 6 pair o f Moab's over the years. Fit like a glove out of the box. This pair not so much. They made it wider. Went from a size 10 to 9.5 a fit is still sloppy. Would never hike with this pair of shoes.
Also overall quality is very weak. Padding is horrible!!!!
Need to find a new brand!!!!!!

These shoes were small and very uncomfortable. They are not flexible at all. I would not recommend them.

I loved the original version of this shoe. It was a very comfortable hiker. I ended up giving these away, they offered no support whatsoever and hurt my feet after my first hike. There is no padding at all! I do not recommend thse at all. I purchased the Moab Adventure lace up waterproof shoe and they are wonderful, great arch support and comfortable hiking.

I was happy when I received these. They fit my wide feet well. I had hiked in them a few times a month for about 6 months, maybe put 60 to 70 miles on them. Then on a moderate hike the heel cups on both began rubbing after a few miles. When I took them off to rub them out the lining was torn. Ruined and blisters.

The shoes are too wide. I cannot get them tight enough around to avoid my feet moving in them. The are the correct length, just too wide, even with thick socks.

I purchased size 10 wide and they were about 2 sizes to big. Found receipt for last time I purchased them and confirm this was the size I am wearing. There is no way that the shoe they sent me was a 10 wide. Returned shoes requesting exchange for 9 wide to see if the Moab 2 runs bigger. Merrell issued a credit and did not exchange them???

I have bought a new pair of Moab shoes every year for years because I have problems with my feet. I was so happy with feet that did not hurt after walking all day. I loved my Moab's! These last few months my feet began to hurt again. I had bought a new pair of Moab's in late summer not knowing they were the Moab 2 shoes. The same pains came back. My feet got worse and worse. I did some research and found out the design had changed. I am really bummed out about the new change. I would not recommend the Moab 2 shoes to anyone with feet problems. Fortunately, my old Moab's still have mileage left on them. They are tough shoes! When I put my old Moab's on, my feet say thank you, thank you, thank you! I hope Merrell brings back the original Moab's! Bottom line, not all feet are the same.

Naturally an excellent shoe, deserved a 5-star rating but I was highly disappointed in the color. I wanted the color as depicted in the picture but it was MUCH darker, not even close to the picture. But I did keep the pair, only because it's a MOAB!

These look like te ones I bought with the mesh est but the colour is different. The shoes lasted until they fell apart... meaning they were made to fail. There was no information on the package that the heals were hollow! Now that they have worn down a bit, my money needs to buy another pair, but never Merrell.
This is the new preferred USA business way of selling fake quality!
I DID NOT KNOW BEFORE THIS I COULD ADD A PICTURE HERE WITH MY REVIEW OR I WOULD HAVE... OPPS EVEN A VIDEO. WELL SO MUCH FOR ME.

I just wore them in two winters in Phoenix from home to work. No hiking no walking. Keep them clean nice in the box rest of the year. I got crack on the side around the toes. I don't recommend it

Merrell has ruined these shoes. I have owned 7 pairs of Moab Vents over the years. Merrell has made design tweaks along the way but they have now taken what was a extremely comfortable shoe and make it un-wearable. Merrell - if it's not broken, don't fix it!

These are so painful to wear. Both shoes have like a kink in the toe section that will wear a sore in your big toe. I had to pay a cobbler to soften it up with some chemicals and then beat it with a hammer to make the wearable. They still feel bad.

Dear Sirs,
Within the second month of wearing this shoe model rubber toe part has started to crack along the stitches. This is the second pair of Merrell shoes (different model though) that developed exactly the same type of defects within a short perios of time. In both instances they were worn within the city area only, nothing extreem or heavy duty.
Please, get rid of that rubber toe!
Looking forward to your reply.

Slippery inside. Very slippery on wet metal. On inside sides they used glue, easy to get dirt there. Wish could return to Merrell retail in Aurora IL - purchased a week ago but I used them already. So angry I may just throw them away!!!!

My Northface shoes are 10.5, therefore I ordered a 10.5 - there was room for a swimming pool.
I then ordered a 10 wide - almost the same extra room.
Then I ordered a 10 which turned out too small. The shoe was 1/4 inch shorter than the 10 wide.
Where is your quality control?
Never again will I buy this product.

I don't know why it's necessary to "improve" on perfection. I needed to replace my Moab's only because of wear, I loved them from the moment I put them on! So the reasonable thing to do was grab another pair, however they upgraded to the Moab 2. Where the original were comfortable from the beginning, the Moab 2 were uncomfortable from the start. Thinking it was a matter of wearing them in I kept at it. My feet hurt, my knees hurt, I couldn't believe how bad they work for me, and now it's too late to return them. I'm back to wearing my old Moabs, I'll probably just donate the new ones and move on.
Bring back the Moab and I'll be back!

This is my third or fourth pair of Moab Ventilators and I've always found them to be comfortable and long-lasting - until this pair. They've all been the same size, but for some reason this pair makes my feet hurt after wearing them for more than 30 minutes. They feel as if they are narrower than the previous pairs I've owned. Hard for me to recommend these again.

The shoes themselves rate a 5 but when I spend this much on footwear I expect the laces to stay tied, and they don't. I even got a replacement set and they come undone in no time. I had this same problem with a pair of Phasers I bought (the second pair - the first I had no problem with but that was a few years back) so I assume this is a company wide decision that really needs to be addressed.

I wore these on the 2019 Bataan memorial death on Sunday. Changed socks every 6 miles. First hot spot at mile 7. Went downhill from there. Finished but at what cost? Can't put pressure on left heel, 3 black toe nails, blisters on both heels and below big toes. If thes shoes are for causal exploring they will work. Not for a 26.2 mile 41 lb ruck. I trained for 9 months so my feet aren't soft.

To give perspective I have owned 7 or 8 pairs of merrell moabs in the past. By far my favorite shoe. The only shoe I could count on to fit perfectly immediately after purchase. The Moab 2 has resulted in a change in design which causes severe pain in the arch of the foot towards the base of the heel. I am not sure change in the design causes this pain but I have a suspicion that it has to do with a deepening of the heel pocket. I figured they would break in over time and hopefully be useable but no, I have walked well over 100 miles in these and they are still as painful as ever. It isn't an immediate pain but one that shows up after a few hours of use so trying them on in the store didn't exhibit the issue. If you are buying these with the expectation that they will fit the same as the original moab then you will be sorely disappointed.
