I have a pair of Moab ventilators that I adore and wanted to add a waterproof pair to my collection. I never had any comfort issues with the ventilators, but man, do these waterproof boots tear up my heels. I've taken them on hikes of varying lengths and conditions with the hope of breaking them in, but each time I return with the worst blisters and more disappointment. It's a shame considering I probably could have worn the ventilators barefoot out of the box and had no issues. I got the same size, same width, and had a very different experience. I have had to amend my previously glowing recommendations to my friends to exclude these waterproof boots. Two stars because they are the same supportive footbed with good waterproofing, but they are unwearable if walking is required.

This shoe is NOT waterproof, despite the label and description. It fits well and provides good support, but after 15 minutes working in ankle high dew covered grass, the entire shoe, including my orthotics, was sopping wet inside. This is my second pair of Moab 2 Waterproofs. The first stayed dry for about a year and then the membrane failed. They fit so well I gave this shoe style another try. This pair didn't stay dry even that long. Very disappointed in Merrell and the Moab 2 Waterproof Wide..

6 months ago I purchased the Women's Moab 2 Waterproof shoe in size 10.5 Wide which fit perfectly. Hiked 2 miles 2 or 3 days of the week at a local park and got a very sore blister on my left big toe which I have to this day with a callous on my right big toe. My feet hurt so-o-o-o bad, on the way home, I have to take my shoes off in the car for my left foot to stop hurting. It will not go away as long as I continue to wear this shoe (which I have to do since this is the only pair I have to wear and these were a bit pricey!). Also after wearing them for 30 minutes pulling weeds out in the yard and also, almost immediately while planting grass seed on an incline (hill), my whole left foot hurts so bad I want to tear these off my feet and go barefooted. It never goes away until I take my shoes off and what a relief!! Always can't wait.

I have worn Merrel's hiking boots since I could remember. I decided to treat myself to a new pair and I have been heartbroken ever since. My new Moab 2 Waterproof are so stiff and tight in the toe box that I can't even wear them. I unfortunately threw my old ones away thinking that I would have the same luck as the other 10 pairs that I have owned. Sadly, I was mistaken. Ended up wearing only my socks on the trail they hurt my feet so badly. Sadly, I can't return them because I wore them outside.

Really wanted to like this shoe, the fit is fine but I've worn these over a dozen times and get terrible blisters on the heels every single time. Have even tried using various and different socks to alleviate the issue but no avail. I am very disappointed.

Bought my first pair and after the first month walking on trails my feet were soaked. These are not waterproof. Contacted Merrell and they shipped me another pair .... same thing happened. I'm not walking in puddles just walking in a lot of rain. (Living in Seattle waterproof shoes are a must). Do not recommend if you want dry feet

I am returning these and my rating reflects the lack of waterproof issue. The shoes otherwise have a good fit. I am very disappointed as the description says waterproof in the product description. I used in an initial hike and went through 2-3 inches of water and my socks were Immediately soaked. I am not sure what product to now order as most of the descriptions say waterproof.

I wore these for the first time in light snow, and they leaked significantly at the toes of both shoes. Not sure if it's a defect or if this is how the product is. They seem relatively comfortable; although, for a wide width shoe, the toes are not very wide. They are also quite bulky.

Shoes are large, and get very warm

The shoes are well-made and fit my foot size well, especially with the wide width. However, as I tried them on and walked on hardwood floors, I felt the arch support cushion hitting my feet somewhere between my arch and my heel. Very strange because I've never had that issue before with any shoes. Sorry to have to return.

Bought these because they were supposed to be waterproof. Have worn them for two weeks. No problems at first. Now they are no longer waterproof. I haven't submerged them or walked through puddles. This is from dew on long grass. Disappointing outcome for the price.

I have purchased and worn MOAB 2 Ventilators in women's size 9, and they fit beautifully. So, I ordered a 9 wide in the MOAB 2 waterproof. Nope.... not even close. The shoe was way too short - my toes literally hit the end, and way too narrow - my toes were cramped on both sides. I returned the size 9s, and ordered a 9.5. Still WAY too small. I am sending this pair back, too.

I bought the MOAB 2 last fall. Have only worn them a few times . Went for a walk yesterday and they both completely soaked through. Had to walk through a few puddles but could literally wring my socks out when I got home. Was I supposed to spray them? They are very comfortable!

I wear a women's 9.5 in every other shoe but Merrell. The Merrell shoes I replaced by buying these were too small. I bought these in a 9.5 and they were too small. I bought a new pair of Merrell in a size 10 which fits my foot fine.

So I bought this about 2 weeks ago in a 8.5 Wide width and the shoe is a bit too long and makes my feet rub up against the sides which causes pain.... I wish i could return them but I've worn them for a week and they hurt pretty bad. I can barely wear them. if you have short but wide feet these aren't for you.

I found the sole of the shoe to be very hard and hurts my feet, so I am going to try and find more comfortable insoles with more arch support and cushion.
