I ordered the same size shoe in waterpoof Moab 2 as I did in non waterproof but these shoes are shorter and tighter. Not happy!

I am on my third pair. Used to LOVE these shoes. My new pair is tighter and smaller than previous pairs. Half size up is too big. The footbed is also hard. Not as comfortable.

I really expected to love these shoes! Everyone raves about them. I bought them in summer looking for everyday shoes a bit more substantial than sneakers that could easily transition to the trail. After wearing them a few times in the summer, I had to abandon ship as they had absolutely NO breathability - my feet were swimming! I figured I'd keep them to use as everyday winter shoes considering the waterproof aspect. Wrong! Wearing them this winter, in probably 2 inches of snow or less, my feet and socks have been completely soaked through multiple times. Major bummer! Not sure why everyone loves these!

I ordered these shoes in my regular size 9. Even with regular socks, they are way too tight to my toes. I had them for a trip to Scotland, and unfortunately, I just could not wear them for an extended period. I had hoped they would break in over time, but they just do not give enough. Size 9 is plenty big enough for all of my shoes (casual, dress and sport). I would just recommend a half size larger, if I were to buy these again, and for those considering this shoe. I would like to provide more of a comment on the overall quality of the shoe, but I really have not been able to use them enough.

This shoe is a lot. It’s big. It’s clunky. The tongue on one shoe immediately rubbed my foot. I couldn’t even wear them around the house to break them in. Returned.

These shoes run at least a size smaller. After several weeks of wearing them in the house, still not comfortable and too Late to return. They are not true to size.

I normally buy Merrell shoes bc of the width. These shoes have insoles that don't fit the shoe as I am unable to wear them till I buy new ones.

I wore women's Moab Ventilators for years until they were discontinued. Since then I have tried in vain to find a similar shoe. The Moab 2 are NOT the same fit. I bought some of the first type after Moab Ventilators and tried to break them in but they were always too tight. Length was fine. I tried again recently and bought wide fit which were way too wide, but the mediums are just too narrow, no matter how much I loosen the laces. They were alwasy such comfortable shoes, and I've worn other Merrel shoes and sandals, but the Moabs were always my daily wear casual shoes. Sad, but I give up. They still get 2 stars because they're well made and still rugged.

This has been so frustrating! Two seemingly same shoes — the “vent” vs the “waterproof “ versions and yet completely different fits. I tried going up an additional 1/2 size in the waterproof and they are still significantly narrower than the vent model. Other reviews say the waterproofing is not particularly good, so decided I’m not missing too much and sticking with the vent version that fits!

I bought the Moab 2 after trying out the Siren Edge 3 (uncomfortable) and the Bravada (uncomfortable). The shoes that I were replacing were Moabs that were 5 years old that my dog decided to eat one day .... The new Moabs are made differently that the old. I prefer the old. First of all, the left shoe was shorter than the right. The toe box on the Moab is very wide and did not fit as well on my foot because of it. Merrell- if you make this shoe in a wide, why do you have to make the medium width so wide? Anyway, I have given up on Merrell and will search for another brand. Needless to say, this upsets me because my old pair were super comfortable.

Why is this shoe lumpy? Yikes. I was expecting so much more. The foot bed is so weird. Seriously? What is up with the two random lumps on each side of the footbed? And the tongue is big, lumpy and uncomfortable. I much prefer my altra lonepeaks.

These boots are very comfortable and fit right out of the box. However, they aren't waterproof at all. You'll get wet socks just walking across a wet lawn. I learned this the hard way on a boy scout.campout.I trustedtge description that said they were waterproof. It didn't rain, just wet grass in the morning. These boots another the water lik3 sponge. After that I had to live with wet feet until the end of the 3 day week end.

Have never had a problem with Merrells until now. Every pair I've owned has fit perfectly out of the box, with no breaking in needed -- including a pair I bought a couple months ago. But the Moab 2 was the exception. First ordered a size 8, which is my normal size. Loved the style and color, although they're a little chunkier than I thought. But they were too tight, so I got the 8.5, which were too big. Unfortunately, they're going back.

These shoes run small. Other reviewers have said this, and I didn't listen because I am very consistently a size 8 in every brand. I sincerely regret not getting an 8W or 8.5. My feet are cramped and sore from these shoes after a week. Unfortunately I didn't really think they were that bad at first, so I've been wearing them and now I can't exchange them because of Merrells return policy. I guess I will try to stretch them somehow. Pretty disappointed. I do like this shoe otherwise, it's decently comfortable and waterproof, but the small sizing is a big negative.

I just don't understand the sizing of this product. Originally ordered a size 7.5....way too tight, so I exchanged them for an 8 and they literally feel 2 sizes bigger than the 7.5. Merrell will only exchange one time on an order, now I have to pay for the return. Feeling frustrated with the entire experience. I agree with another reviewer....don't order these shoes unless you are 1,000% sure of your size. For reference I normally wear a size 7.

Unfortunately, I found the shoes very uncomfortable. I have a bunion on my left foot, and while the shoe fit fine, it rubbed the bunion. Additionally I found my pinky toes being pinched. Luckily Zappos has a wonderful return policy, and I was able to easily return these shoes.

I bought a replacement Moab 2 Waterproof in Wide to replace a 3 yr old pair. The name might be the same but this shoe doesn't feel or fit anything like the old one. They shaved off some width, the tongue is narrower, the toe cap doesn't cover as much...and its not waterproof. Bring back the older version it was a winner. This one is NOT.

I'm so disappointed. Thankfully I wore the shoes in my living room for a day without going outside. They run short and I ordered a half size up, in addition to hugging my foot in a strangulating way. It's like my foot was wrapped in plater.

I got these shoes because I wanted to protect my feet while trail running. I thought the rugged sole would offer protection from rocks, roots, etc. BUT as of today, I've been sidelined for three months with a foot injury after stepping on a jagged rock in these shoes. The sole didn't offer any protection at all to my foot. I might as well have been wearing normal sneakers. These will NOT protect your feet and should not be worn on trails.

I was really excited to try these shoes, especially as my first Merrell shoe purchase. Unfortunately, I am really disappointed in these shoes. While, yes, these shoes are very comfortable without needing to wear them in, I found them to be possibly defective. Since the first hike I took them on, I was slipping on everything. Dry rock, dry brush, dry everything. I thought maybe I just needed to wear them in a little bit, as maybe there is some film on the sole that needs to be worn off, but I was wrong. I am an avid hiker, typically wearing Salomon's. I thought I'd give these a try and unfortunately have to say I'll never try them again. I feel like I've wasted my money. Also- for sizing, I went a full size up than normal. I am usually a 9 sneaker and bought a 10.
