I think I'm going to have to buy a new pair. This pair is the same size as my previous ones, but for some reason it's compressing my big toe on my left foot. I wish I noticed sooner before using them for a hike.

I been using these shoes for a while. I like that there is plenty of room for my toes. The Vibram rubber is good quality and I like the overall design. I appreciate that there is no built in arch support. I took the insole that came with the shoe out and put in a flat one with one arch support. However I wish that they made these in a zero drop option. None of the other zero drop hikers fit the bill. They all have various problems. I would like to try some of Merrells trail gloves but it really feels like they have arch support in them even though they say they its not arch support. I do like that the Moabs bend properly at the forefoot.

A Merrell size 7M has been a perfect fit for me in the past. However with the Moab 2 toes were against front of shoes wearing thin socks. Shoe felt comfortable otherwise and liked the style. My feet are narrow and thin. Am looking at other options before ordering 7 1/2.

These have been my go to shoes; always comfortable right out of the box. Disappointingly, this third pair was snug, and though I tried to convince myself they were OK, they ended up giving me a blister. Whether this pair was an off pair, or the size or style has changed somehow, they were not wearable this go round. Sad. = (

These fit like a low top and heavy boot. I was looking for more of a lightweight option to replace my former pairs. I'm now on my 4th pair of Merrell.

I have a wide foot . Most of the time I get 7.5 wide or 8 wide. I order 8 wide because they are hiking boots. I have not walked outside yet I have walked a little in the house and I have set in my chair looking at them . Because they are very big and boxy ugly looking. But they do fix great. I probably will keep them.

The shoes appear to be well-made and look like they will be durable. I am disappointed that the wide size does not have much more room than the regular width. They are wearable, but snug. Otherwise I would have given them a higher rating.

My praise to Merrell for color schemes! Attractive, low key colors are terrific. But I've been wearing TechAmphibians through three or four updates, over ten years' time. Loved the light weight, quick tie, cool mesh surfaces and the low key colors. Salomon doesn't offer many low key colors these days, too bad. These Merrell Moabs are too heavy for what I'm looking for. I'm also kinda hooked on the quick tie thing on the Salomons. I'll keep looking.

Shoe looks great, but not at all comfortable. You'll have to "break them in." And even then, you'll be lucky. I usually take a 9, sometimes a 9.5 depending on the shoe. I returned the 9 and got the 9.5. My first reaction was that it "was better" than the 9. I wore them once to break them in. I still feel like my toes are pressing against the toe. I have narrow feet and long toes, but it's never been a problem before. At first, I thought there must be some paper jammed up inside the toe, section, but there wasn't. I can only conclude that the exterior dimensions of the shoe may be 9.5, but the interior dimensions simply are not. Or the shoe/sole is pitched forward, making my toes uncomfortable. And although I was wearing a thin ankle sock, my feet were sweating bullets (it was just 72 degrees out). I think the fabric/mesh inside is (ironically) responsible for this and it may even be crowding my toes. Very disappointed. Love the brand, love the colors of this shoe. But very, uncomfortable.

Loved the Moab 2 waterproof, size 8. I normally wear a 7 1/2; but also ordered an 8. 7 1/2 was a big snug; but 8 fit great. My only issue is the weight of the shoes; they re pretty heavy. We are going hiking in Switzerland in June. Even if I wear them on the plane; I'm going to have to pack them in my luggage at some point; and I'm concerned about the added weight. I wanted some waterproof, lightweight hiking shoes. Unfortunately, I don't think the Moab 2 is going to work for this trip; so they're going back! Good news - hiking shoe search is over! I finally settled on Merrell Siren Edge Q2 Waterproof, size 8. Very comfy and lightweight! Thanks Zappos for your wonderful return policy!

I bought my first pair of Merrells, per recommendation of a friend, at the end of summer 2017. I broke them in on a 24 mile hike, fell in love with them, and shelved them for the winter. I spent all of summer 2018 hiking in them on my days off from work, and loved how well they performed. However, to my dismay, one of the shoes quickly started to develop a large hole where the seams were splitting on the side of the shoe, compromising the shoes' waterproof abilities. I contacted customer service about it and they replaced them. Costumer service was a dream to deal with and they even ensured I got my new shoes before my trip to New Zealand. I was super happy to have waterproof shoes, as New Zealand is quite wet. Fast forward 4 months. I am currently in New Zealand and have been hiking in my Merrells just on my days off from work, and they are once again falling apart. I am super disappointed, as I love the shoes, but they only tend to last a few months. Recently, after a 4 day hiking trip in perfect weather conditions during which my feet were wet every day simply from the dew on the grass, I have confirmed that the shoes are no longer waterproof and think it's time I switch to another brand of hiking shoes. Rated 3 stars because they are great shoes but they just don't last.

I currently own a pair of similar Merrell's that I bought 2 years ago that fit great. This style shoe was about a half size too short for my size 11 feet. I wear a medium width which fit fine but the shoe itself does make your foot look super wide. Thank goodness for free return shipping!

I normally wear a size five. I have a wide forefoot and narrow heal. I had to go up a half size in this shoe, because in the 5 my left big toe was cramped and bumping up against the front of the toe box uncomfortably. In the 5.5 There was plenty of room for my big toe, but my pinkie toe was smashed painfully up against the side of the shoe. Strangely enough, both the 5 and 5.5 fit my right foot quite nicely. I liked the color, but the styling was rather clunky and heavy. It didn’t feel worth trying to make another pair of Moab 2s work for a third time by ordering a size 6, which would probably be too big, anyway.

I reviewed these on Nov 21, 2018 after a week of wear when I said they felt stiff in the toe box. Since then I have determined the stiffness is coming from the support "rib" (for lack of a better term) that runs from the heel to the toe on the sides. The old MOAB fit my foot like a glove which I prefer over this new style which feels boxy on my foot. I will continue to wear them but will not purchase another pair which is disappointing because I really like the old MOAB.

I bought these for daily wear walking the dogs. I bought a 9 wide. I tend to walk the dogs in areas where it is muddy, slushy and wet. I like the style of the shoes. I found the foot bed comfortable. The problem (for me) is that apparently my instep is to high for this shoe As a result, once I actually tie the laces, there is a gap towards the top of the shoe on each side of the tongue. So there's basically open space on either side of the tongue. This has been enough to let in moisture and cold. I haven't had this problem on any other pair of shoes that I have bought (and I don't buy any particular special kind of shoes). As a result, I can't really use them for the reason I bought them. Ok, I can just wear them in dry warmer conditions.

I got these for an upcoming trip with lots of hiking. Waterproof is important so these seemed perfect. I ordered my regular size 10, but probably need a 9.5 in these. I'm not getting them because even if I get the right size, the style is just too bulky for me. The quality seems to be great.

I got the mint drizzle and really liked the color and the overall look. They are a bit clunky as previously mentioned by some but I believe that is the design of the shoe. They felt comfortable out of the box but after wearing them a few short hours I felt pressure in the toe box across the widest part of my foot. I am typically a 9 men’s and I purchased a 10.5W hoping I could fit into a women’s wide, but these are not wide enough for me. Also, in men’s shoes I am always a 9, and in the 10.5W in women’s the outside and front corner of my big toes were rubbing the front corner of the shoe. I also removed the factory insole and inserted my own orthotic and after the few hours my arch was slightly tight, so the shaft is stiff. It may have loosened up over time but out of the box these were mot super comfortable overall. I regretfully will return these and purchase a men’s.

I have both the old Moab waterproof and regular shoes. Loved them both for years but alas....it was time for new ones. I bought these expecting the same fit but they feel like "boots" especially in the toe box area which I feel is to big and stiff. I don't know why they changed the styling but I really miss the old Moab. It has only been 1 week and will give them more time but I am waiting on buying the regular Moab 2 shoe for now.

I felt it was too narrow across the forefoot for my feet. I tried on something like 14 pairs of hiking boots for the “low” height hiking boots I need. It seems many ladies who have wide feet find boots like these in a wide size to indeed still be too narrow in the forefoot or tow box — yet too wide in the heel. I wish Merrel and Keene and some of the other shoes I used to enjoy, and indeed even dress shoes, would realize that ladies with wide feet rarely need a wide heel area because in sizing up to get it wide enough, they slip up and down off of one’s heel (Which gives a hiker blisters) . But I DID finally find one at 2:30 a.m. last night trying on shoes for hours in my living room (for my 4th shipment of options none of which had worked)! ...the big winner, ladies with feet like mine, was: the Mantra II by Vasque, or Of you need waterproof Mantra GTX tho the regular Mantra is more supple and comfortable out of the box, to me — if you don’t have time for a break-in period. I found reviews by others very helpful in deciding to try it, so I thought it behooved me to share this tip because it can be so hard when stores don’t carry wide shoes to try on in stores, to help eliminate all the trial and error and lugging boxes to ups! And thanks Zappos for being patient with us customers til we get it right!

Wonderful fit. I have bunions and these shoes are the most comfortable that I own. You should know, however, the they are not the teeniest bit waterproof. When I bought these shoes, I also bought the high-tops in Moab, both of which were labeled Merrell waterproof. Since I never wore the high-tops, I returned them once I discovered that the Moab2Waterproof was NOT as advertised.

This shoe was too heavy and chunky looking. I also found this shoe was too large. I wear 7.5 and 8 was still too large. However, if you are looking for a very sturdy shoe this fits the bill.

Seems like a nice shoe. Other Merrell size 9 shoes fit me well, but these are a bit tight on the toes. Can’t see walking in them for long distances. Returning.

Need to order at least 1/2 size up. The woman's shoe in Wide width is probably a C not D - so be aware.
