Overall, these shoes are high quality and would be comfortable if I broke them in, though one of them rubbed against the top of my foot so bad that I couldn't bear to walk in them after about 4 tries; the tongue of the shoe seems to have a little nubby bit that caused a great deal of discomfort. Has anyone else had this issue? Do I just need to give them more time?

Juuuuust fit. Meaning, if I'm going downhill, my toes will jam up against the end. #bruisedtoenail. Also, I doubt it will fit my inserts AND a thick sock. While I'm thrilled to find the larger sizes for women (YAY), I might return these and go for a men's size a little larger. Big Plus: the super-rigid sole. I called Merrell and asked which shoes had the firmest soles (plantar fascitis and neuromas) they said this one. Thus, I'm going to try the bigger one.
I'd also recommend:

I really don’t understand all of tne glowing reviews for these. I love Merrill but not all of their shoes work for me. I’ve been spoiled with the all out blaze shoe which is made for my feet. they are discontinued so I though I’d try these since tney are so popular. I wear a 6.5, got my usual size. they fit fine; it’s not a sizing issue. but they are sooo clunky and awkward- like I’m wearing men’s shoes and just make my feet so huge it’s hard to feel coordinated while walking , as if I would
trip over my shoes. but the main issue is there is zero cushion- just stiff and hard on tne bottom with a little arch support but I imagine wearing these on a hike and my feet being so sore. too bad because this style seems to hang around and is very popular. the search continues...

I have had Merrell boots in the past because I need a wide width. These did not fit in the width, very narrow. The length fit perfectly. Some have suggested to get a half size longer. I decided to return them. I am disappointed. Merrell was my go to wide width shoe company especially for hiking boots.

I have never owned the low-cut, only the boots, these looks really puffy to me, almost like a skater shoe. The real disappointment comes when you try to exchange the shoe, seamlessly as promised, online. It can't be done. You can't pick a different shoe and pay the difference while returning at the same time. Get with the times, Merrell, it's lazy to keep it this way. I would have spent more and gotten what I wanted, now I have to wait even longer making other shoe companies more tempting.

I wanted to love these shoes but they were too small. I made it to the top of a trail in colorado before my foot went numb. I always wear a size 6 so that's what I ordered. I think I must have needed to go up a half size.... now that I've worn the shoes I can't return them. Disappointed.

I have been wearing the Moab 2 Ventilator for 4 or 5 years and am on about my 5th pair. They are extremely comfortable right out of the box and provide great support when hiking. My last 2 pairs have been the waterproof version. This week after walking through wet grass, I noticed my socks were very wet on the bottom when I took my shoes off. I am not sure what to think about this situation, as I feel like "waterproof" should keep my feet drier than that. I had plans to take them on a trip this summer where I expect to encounter lots of rainy days, but now I worry that my feet will constantly be wet.

These shoes are comfortable but make my feet look enormously wide/large. They're much more bulky than they appear online.

Had a great pair lasted many years. Replaced with these. Find these to be bulky. Stiff. The back get smoosh down easy. Not thrilled. Expected more comfort.

I wanted to love these hiking shoes but they have two strikes against them. first the Wide size fits like a mens shoe. The heel is just as wide as the toebox making it impossible to stay on your foot. Second the color is not at all like the photo on the website. I checked it on my phone, my laptop and the desktop. I gave it three stars because it is well made and could be perfect for someone lse.

I was disappointed to find my new pair very wide through the toes and with less support. I miss the Q-form of my last pair, which fit better than any shoe I've had. Those shoes held my foot comfortably and provided great support. The new ones fit ok/not great. They're good enough to keep, but although they're the same size as before, they're too roomy. I hope they Q-form shaping can be restored to this model in the future.

Footbed is hard! Maybe trail shoes are made that way? Kills my Morton's Neuroma. And I got W to help, but still not good.

I really like the Moab 2, but realized why I usually buy the men's version as the women's toe box is too tig. Has a narrower cut.ht

I purchased an 8.5 wide width, but the shoe was still tight in the toe box. Love the shoe, but the fit just wasn’t there.

I love these shoes because they are so light weight compared to other brands. Unfortunately they only last a year before the front of sole by toes comes unglued. It would be better if stitched.

Prompted by Merrell promo to post an early review so star rating reflects early thoughts.
1. Fit is as expected if you normally size up a 1/2 size for athletic shoes over casual/dress shoes.
2. Not broken in yet after only 10 miles or so but no issues with comfort/blisters/fit.
3. May be a little warm for warmer climates but so are normal athletic shoes when temps hit 90s

Ordered true to size as the reviews recommended and unfortunately got horrible blisters on both of my pinkie toes from the shoe being too tight. Other than the sizing, love the look and the grip is great

Have difficulty finding shoes that fit and so was so pleased with how comfortable these shoes were right out of the box. But within a few weeks of wear on country roads and walking through grass fields, the front of the shoe is no longer waterproof and my toes will be wet if walking in a light drizzle.
Very disappointing.

I bought my first pay of Moab wide with a couple years ago and was so delighted to find a shoe that fit my wide forefoot and high arch beautifully. The sole was wearing down so tried to replace shoe and this time I went with the waterproof model. Same size 8:5 W. But right out of the box I could see the width is not the same. Narrowed the toe a bit. The tongue more narrow. The shoe doesn't quite close over my high arch at the top of the laces tongue doesn't cross my entire foot. I will probably wear them anyway but so sorry that you cut back on the width. Us wide feet high arch people needed that extra width.

This is the correct size for me - or so I thought....I mean I have always worn the same size footwear in Merrells.
When I tried these at home when I first received them, I ensured I had plenty of room around the toe area so carried on and wore these 3 times x 1 hour max while walking in the forest with the dogs.
On each occasion I have ended up with toes squashed against the inside by the end of my 30-40 minute walk - basically in pain.
I am not sure, but it seems that they push my foot forwards as I walk - they have a thick and sturdy sole so perhaps it slopes slightly.....
Bottom line: I will not be able to use these and I can't send them back as I have worn them - a complete waste of money - so I advise that you go up a half size if you're unsure - you can always wear thick socks if they are a little loose, but you can't walk around in agony like I have been..... alternatively - be prepared to wear sheer stockings with them.....hmmmm
