I have wide feet and have been looking for a wide hiking shoe for awhile. These are by far the comfiest hiking shoes I've found and the Granite color is great! For reference, I typically wear a 7.5 or 8, I went with an 8 for these.

I usually wear a 7.5 or 8. I ordered the 8—too small. Ordered the 8.—too small. Ordered the 9-–barely fits. I do not know about the waterproof because I do not need to wear them for 6 more weeks.

I was excited to get this shoe because I read all of the positive reviews. It just did not fit my foot right. Very well-made and I think for many people it would be a great hiking shoes. It just was not for me so I had to send them back. I did end up with a Merrill hiking shoe though which I like very much. They make wonderful products

Clunkier than I expected but will be fine for hiking. Need a lighter style for training.

Bought them in my normal size 10 and thought they’d be fine, but tried them on later at the end of the day when my feet were swollen and they felt short. Decided to order 10.5 and think they are in fact more comfortable then the 10’s.

This shoe is waterproof. Hiked multiple trails up wet streambeds without an issue. It is low on the ankle so you can’t go too deep and no ankle support for hiking. Wide enough for comfort in 10 mile hike without being too big. Could use more cushioning on the bottom. After a few hours of rocky hiking the shoes lose some of the foot protection. Decent shoe. Good for moderate level wet hiking as long as not going through deep streams or puddles.

A great looking shoe, but runs way too small. I had to go up a full size. Will return and order up.

I purchased these shoes because a relative recommended I buy some waterproof hiking shoes for a trip to Alaska. Since I'm pretty clueless when it comes to different kinds of shoes, I purchased several pair to try to figure out which shoe would work well for me. I have a very high arch and tremendous difficulty finding shoes that are comfortable. Plus, my physical therapist has instructed me to make sure my shoes have some elevation in the heel, as flat shoes end up causing me back pain. Zappos' incredibly user-friendly return policy made this process worry-free and painless. Thank you, Zappos! Now, back to the shoes! Per recommendations by other reviews, I did order a half-size larger than my normal shoe size. This upsizing was just enough. Because I had never worn hiking shoes before, it took me a bit to get used to the feel of the (?) tread. But I worn them around the house, and I really started liking them a lot. I have come to love the look and feel of these shoes. We'll see how well they function on my trip!

Fit just like the comfortable Keen hikers I've loved for years. Only returned because I wanted a higher boot for more ankle protection.

So, far, so good! I have a really hard time finding hiking and walking shoes which make my feet feel supported, aren't too big or too small, and don't rub. So, I ordered 5 different pairs of hiking shoes to try on, opened the box and tried these first and just felt like I could stop here. In sandals I wear a 5.5, figured I'd get a 6 so I can wear thick good socks, and these fit with a pair of thick hiking socks very well. I returned the Keens (they just never fit me!) and another different pair of Merrell's. I'll update the review after first hike to make sure they're still working as well as I think and hope they will. A reminder for folks buying hiking and walking shoes--please try on with the socks you'll be wearing, and for hiking make sure they are good socks!

I usually wear a size 10, but it seemed too snug, especially with thicker sock, so I am exchanging for a 10.5. Waiting for its arrival so I can start wearing them.

We've had a lot of rain and we hit some muddy wet areas and I was happy that I decided to get the waterproof shoe. I like the shoes and do recommend them. However after a 5 mile hike both my big toes were sore by the nail. I'm not sure if this means the size is too big. It's definitely not too small.

These shoes are sturdy and good quality. I had never purchased this type of shoe and went for a 1/2 size bigger than normal. Huge mistake. They felt good starting out but that quickly changed. My foot slid around and after our 8 mile hike, I was left with sore feet and large blisters. They seemed a little wide for my narrow foot and I think that was the problem. They held up in mud and puddles and my foot didn't get wet. Definitely a tough shoe.

Merrell is my favorite shoe so I was disappointed when I received these and I sent them back. They were at least a half size too small and would have been a full size too small with thick socks. Also, they were heavier than I anticipated and they would have taken up too much weight and space in a suitcase. I purchased them because of the brand and because they are waterproof, not for rugged hiking. I still love this brand of shoe for it's comfort, especially the wide toe box and great arch support and will continue to buy Merrell shoes. Also, right after i bought these the price dropped from $120 to $96. I still would have returned them though.

Ordered based on all the positive reviews but they didn't work for me. I usually wear a 7 but ordered 7.5, and then an 8. Still didn't feel right and I thought they were rather clunky and heavy. Plus, they made my foot look really wide.

I bought these hikers for a month long trip to Portland, Oregon to enjoy the Pacific Northwest. Haven't been yet, so I'll let you know how they work out for hiking adventures So far, I've found them to be very comfortable, sturdy, well made and stylish.

The shoe does well on loose gravel and fits well. After a few days I feel like the inside of the shoe has become a bit larger from being worn but adjusting the laces obviously helps. Great shoe!

The arch support is too far back towards the heel. Very uncomfortable. I tried it with Spencos and other insoles, but couldn't get it to work for me.

The Wide (D) is still too narrow for my foot. It's a great quality shoe. I debated a long time before I sent them back, but it boiled down to comfort. I was sad to have to send them back.

This shoe seems larger than the same size of the same shoe in the high top version. I would prefer more cushioning. But I kept the shoes anyway.

I adore these shoes--the wide toe box, tough treads, all-day comfort, conservative granite color, waterproof for not-too-deep snow or rain. They are hiking super-stars.The only problem is that the two pairs I have owned wore out very quickly in the big toe wrinkle. The store where I bought them, replaced the first pair after only three months. I am about to take my second pair back after six months. That seems way too short a shoe life. I am hoping that this problem area has been fixed in a newer model (maybe the Moab? Mine say Granite inside the tongue).

I have old feet, bunions, & a pair of Merrells with badly worn heels. I do more walking than hiking but long ago discovered light hikers are better for my feet than walking shoes. I was looking for shoes with a wide toe box & these seem to fill the request. If i had to wear them all day, every day they would probably not be quite wide enough but for an occasional hike in the woods & daily morning walking they are comfortable enough. I'm not even sure I could get walking/hiking shoes any wider.
