I've been wearing these for a few years. I use them for work, which sometimes finds me in the elements. They've consistently kept my feet dry and provided traction in all types of inclement weather conditions. Only reason they get four out of five is they rarely last more than a year. Note, I'm pretty hard on my shoes so it could be that.

Have worn about a month. Like the look. Seems well made. Fit is good. One of the laces is already starting to come apart. Vibram sole so far is wearing like iron. Haven't really tested the waterproofing but having previous experience with Gore-Tex I'm sure it's good. This could be a 5+ shoe but the insole cushion is non existent. It's like walking on a 2x4! How Merrill can get everything so close and totally overlook this is hard to understand. Very disappointed with the comfort and that's only because of the insole. I guess like other reviewers with the same complaint, I'll have to purchase some replacement insoles!!! Sad...

Well made shoe. But not enough toe/ball flex for roll through walking, and shoes felt too hard in sole and a bit shallow in arch for my needs.

Seemed well made, but too stiff and a bit hard in sole also.

Great shoes but on longer hikes they are a little heavier.

Wore them today while mushrooming. My new shoes were soaked but my feet were bone dry. Very comfortable shoes. I have narrow feet and these shoes fit me great.

I wear 45. I bought 46 and they still fill a little smaller than a 45 from any other brand/model I have.
Width is normal (for sure not narrow).
In terms of quality, they look decent but they remain to be tested.

Bought them for my fianc. He really liked the quality but they run small so I had to exchange them for a half size bigger.

Excellent shoe. Fit is true to size, but some shrinkage occurred after getting wet so consider ordering and extra 1/2 size.

Merrell asked where I took these. I took them to DARC and they did excellent. 4 out of 5 as the tongue is a little uncomfortable when laced tight. Awesome shoes!

Sturdy and comfortable. One drawback: the fabric that connects the tongue to the body of the shoe (presumably to help with waterproofing) sometimes bunches up under the tongue when lacing up, which gets uncomfortable for the top of the foot. Ensuring that the fabric is above and not below the tongue when lacing up gets tedious.

Delivery was prompt but one shoe has a bit of a wrinkle in the lining that is a bother to the person who received the footwear as a gift. Unfortunately, we will be returning for another pair. He has been wearing a pair for several years but they are worn and in need of replacing and since he liked the first pair I ordered these as a Christmas gift..

I've just picked up my second pair of these after about 3.5 years of intense hiking, being on various trails, handling different conditions and so forth between CO, WA and AK. I definitely didn't go easy on these shoes and used them almost everyday, and I'm happy to say they were fantastic! I'm honestly surprised they lasted as long as they did considering some of the stuff I've used them for. And to be clear, I'm not one to step around the puddle, but rather one to go right through it and need a solid low rise shoe that could deliver. The Moab 2 Gore-tex is absolutely the right choice. It keeps you dry, had solid tred and is fairly breathable.
The reason my last pair are dead is, I have an issue where I ALWAYS blow out the pinky toes and rip a hole. Doesn't matter if it's a steel toe boot, I will punch a hole through it eventually. In the end that's what killed my moabs, HOWEVER, my second pair I just ordered are the wide version, and after slipping them on only a handful of times, I think I found the proper solution. They feel even better than my first pair!! Overall I would say awesome buy and they fit pretty true to size. I'm a true 9.5 men's and ordered a 9.5 and they were a perfect fit (after breaking in). Would definitely recommend!

I'm a groundsman and walk alot on dew covered grass. Trust me after 1 month they don't resemble anything waterproof.
The sole also comes away from the body way too easy

I have wide feettoo wide for wide women's shoes and so I have to order men's wide shoes. This shoe fits comfortably. I haven't used it for hiking yet so I can't comment on that.

This is my 4th pair of MOAB Gore-Tex low boots. Always out of the box comfort, except for this time. Seems that they've cut the tongue to be narrower so creating pressure point on top of one foot.

Very good hiking shoes. Did not need to break in. I need wide shoes and these are just perfect. In size, it runs larger than most so I should have ordered a 11.5 instead of my usual 12.

Hi! I recently received my Merrell MOAB low hiking shoes, size 10 W. My 9 1/2 Ws (two pairs) were bruising my toes, as my feet had expanded with age. I was hoping that the 10 Ws would provide more toe room. However, the left shoe is fine, but I keep slipping out of my right shoe, as my right foot is just a bit shorter.
Other than that, the shoes appear to be well constructed, and the Earth color is exactly what I wanted. The other colors just aren't as attractive. I've taken to wearing two socks on my right foot, which helped a bit on a long hike, but I sure wish you made a 9 3/4 W.
Thanks for your speedy service and reasonable cost.

awesome, stable trail shoe and is really waterproof. However, I was expecting a bit more cushion insole especially under the ball of the foot. I'm going to have to order the Kinetic Fit Advanced footbed when it's available again...

I have had 3 pair of these now. They hold up very well on the exterior, would be a 5 star rating if the insoles didn't break down as fast as they do. Still the best value for the $ out there.

Iv been buying these for years. They don't last long for me but it's a small trade off for such a great shoe. These lasted about 8 months and I could probably get them to last another month or two but I'd have to put on shoe glue in the front where the rubber cracks and has opened up, so they are not waterproof anymore. The bottoms are pretty worn so even if I could keep them going the bottom would get a hole soon. Why do I still love these? Because they are like walking on a cloud. I use these for work as a groundskeeper for a school district. 5 days a week walking about 8 miles every day on grass, concrete, assault, and hillsides. I weed eat in them and my feet were always dry. I Walk with a 25lb blower for 2 hours a day and my feet feel great at the end of the day. If I were to just use these for hiking I can see them lasting years. But if I walk even 5 miles a day that's 25 miles a week and 100 miles a month. I'm pleased with these shoes.

Love love love the hiker. But have two issues with them.1 being the the plastic that goes around the toe on the outside gets scratched way to easy and it don't come off when wiping them down.they look like crap for a good looking shoe.2nd they are tight which is not a bad thing just can't wear them for a long period of time.Besides the two issues I personally have they are a great shoe. I would recommend to any going to spend time outdoors summer fall or winter.

An excellent shoe design and potentially very good water resistance but with 10M size there was 1-3 mm lift in the heel when moving forward and the 9.5M was too tight across the top when laced up to prevent heel lift. I had to switch to the Keen Targhee III Low WP which was a perfect fit but looks like it might be warmer as these shoes were selected for day hikes (2-4 hr) with a day pack or 4-6 hr sightseeing in the summertime. Overall, a good shoe if you can get the right fit.

True to fit. Shoe is stiff, but that's what you want in this type of shoe. Works great in the wet weather of the Santa Cruz mountains.
