I bought these for an upcoming trip to Sedona and have been breaking them in for about a month. They have started to squeak so bad that people hear me coming and respond "hey there Squeaky". It's not funny anymore and has gotten embarrassing.

Bought it 6 months ago isn't great for wearing every day. I do lawn care and it has started to fall apart. Other brands usually last a full season but these have started to come apart. The metal in the sides and front are bending and hurting my toes and sides of my foot. The fake leather is starting to peel and they are just becoming uncomfortable to wear. Won't be buying another pair

Merrell provides Wide Width in most models. I have a wide foot and many brands just aren't wide enough. Three stars because, although comfortable, Merrells are not made to last more than a few months. In my case, the lining of the heel area prematurely breaks down. Different Merrell models used to last me for years. No more. The quality is gone. This is what typically happens when companies sell off to conglomerates. Too bad.

Bought these in a 7.5 wide and they are more likely a 8.5 wide. My custom orthodics from my 7.5 EEEE shoes are about an inch shorter then the inserts from these shoes.
There's also something on the tongue of the shoe that rubs on your foot on 1 shoe that is quite painful.
When I tried them on at home they were comfortable but once I took them for a hike I was in excruciating pain and no time. Can't return them now since I wore them outside unfortunately.
Frustrated,

Hiking in Yosemite was awesome experience, boots comfortable, but needed to get broken in before hand. Got blisters on both feet after just one day. Hopefully will be better next time out

I really like the look of these and they were very comfortable except for the fact that they have a very long arch which went nearly to my toes. It felt very weird walking on it. If they made the arch normal then I would buy two pairs.

First time buyer of Merrell products: Very satisfying fit and marginal comfort…really like the lace up design and functional tightening quality…great laces. Quality is still a bit up in the air due to lacing anchors breaking off in the first few weeks of use at work. Would like to speak with Merrell customer service

Love merreill shoes. Have bought few pairs in past and LOVED em. Bought these less then a year ago to replace a 7 year old pair of moabs. The sole by the big toe has seperated and theres a big hole now. Love my merrells and normally would say 5 stars but these have disappointed. Maybe just a bad pair i dont know. By all means get merrells if your looking for a hood hiker. Just letting it known about the quality issue i experienced

I like these. They are comfortable and last about a year with daily use. I want to get the light grey and blue in wide width. Please make this an option. I need more room in my footwear.

I tried the MOAB 2 Mid Ventilator to replace my Salomon Ultra Mid 3, and I immediately felt this shoes is stiffer and heavier than my Salomon. The grip on the sole is also not as good as the Salomon, and I find myself a little hesitant walking on wet inclined surfaces, specially going down. I did got used to it eventually, after about 30 minutes. Don't get me wrong, it is a good hiking shoes, but personally, I prefer the Salomon over this one.

I ordered these shoes for my husband. He wears the low Merrell Moab and finds them very comfortable. But these were extremely uncomfortable. We returned them.

I'm not sure yet. I've tried 3 sizes now- 13W were too short, 14W were way too wide, 14M that I'm wearing are narrow so far. Hoping they stretch. This is getting expensive.

Got these about a week and a half ago and knew I was going to buy them as soon as I put them on. Very comfortable and I'm on my feet at work for 8-12 hours daily. Also have awesome traction up muddy rocky hills and stood in a shallow stream for about 20 seconds and my feet did not get wet. The only reason I'm giving these three stars is because the top fabric eyelet is already about to tear out of the boot so I'm concerned about the longevity.

Fits a bit loose around the ankle but I plan on wearing a thicker sock construction solid and I will know more after a few hikes to see if they shape more to my feet

I have been a long time customer on my seventh or eighth pair of Moab/Moab 2 mid ventilators and up until these last three pair (two have not been worn) I have loved them. The problem I have with the last three pair is Merrell changed the insoles from orange (very comfortable) and they usually last 6-9 months before having to put new ones in to now they are black and very thin and minimal cushioning that wear out in 2-3 months!!! I am going to assume the change is a cost savings for Merrell, but definitely the wrong thing to do! Please change these back!!!!

I got mine at the beginning of November this year. I tried to wear them for several days until I couldn't take it anymore because it was really pressing on my small toes. Had to use corn helpers. (Can't remember what they're called.)
When I bought them, I specified that I needed a wide width. I'm not sure if that's what I bought.
How can I tell if they're wide or not? I no longer have the box.
Any help would be appreciated.

I still like the fit but the soles and insoles are not nearly as shock absorbent as they used to be. I go through 3 or 4 pairs of these per year. The shoes used to feel very "spongy" when new for a few weeks and then eventually the soles and insoles would gradually get harder. Now, they feel hard right out of the box. Not sure what has changed.

These boots were exactly what I needed for my recent trip to the high desert. I wore them all day, every day, working, walking, playing in the alkaline desert at Burning Man. The temperatures ranged from 110 degrees F during the day to 40 degrees F at night and they were sturdy, comfortable, and perfect for the whole trip.
BUT, when I got home, I wanted to soak them to clean them. The dust from the Black Rock Desert is all-pervasive and after blowing the boots off with an air compressor, they still need a good washing. That's when I learned that the soles are made of something that the customer service person told me will dissolve in water and that these boots cannot be put through a washing machine and cannot even be soaked in a tub for hand washing. The foot bed will dissolve. Who makes the foot bed of a rugged outdoors boot out of paper??
In the end, I'd say these were excellent boots to wear, but the inability to wash them after heavy use makes them a questionable investment.
