I love Merrells in general. I had a pair of older Merrell's from 5+ years ago that I loved. Unfortunately they were not waterproof, which resulted in a last minute purchase of these shows. The weather forecast showed stormy weather (and apparently hiking in snow). These shoes worked perfectly AND even though I never had a chance to break them in, they were very comfortable. I've tried other hiking boots that were waterproof with a mid height, and they were way too hot, especially with hiking socks on. These were perfect. I liked the ankles support and the tread as well. I felt pretty secure in slippery areas, crossing snowy/icier areas and wet rocks.

Heaven in a hiking boot! I've been wearing these for years and can't say enough good things about them. Through a lot of rain and mud, a little snow and ice, up hill and down, and beach walks through wet sand, they've held up and kept the water out. I'm a true size 10-1/2 - 11 and the 11M fits beautifully. And consistently unlike some Merrell styles that vary considerably within the same size and design. I was a little concerned about the next generation "2" aspect... for no reason. Just got the new model today, and I can't tell the difference from the mud-covered last-generation boots I've been wearing. I see any comfy walks and hikes in my future. Thanks Zappos for making shopping so easy!

Hiking boots can be so stiff and uncomfortable. These are flexible & comfortable right out of the box.

My MOAB Mother Of All Boots 2 Mid Waterproof boots have been amazing from the first time I put them on. The plant of my foot as I walk is super comfortable and required little or no break in. My first wearing was a three-mile walk on a very rocky, uneven, and muddy trail with some minor changes in elevation. With just a simple pair of boot socks, there were no uncomfortable pressure points in these brand new boots.

My husband purchased these boots for me and I love them. I put them on and they felt a bit bigger than a normal 9 but I decided to try them because being new to hiking I had purchased a pair of too small hiking boots before these and that was a painful mistake. I've only just tried these out doing about 5 miles but I really ran them through the test of hills and rocks and even walked through a section of water to try out the waterproofness of them. They are amazing! My toes don't bump like my old shoes. And I saw other reviews about not being very waterproof but mine were absolutely fine. I believe I have found my perfect hiking boot match for life

This is my 2nd pair. I have problems with my lower back and the support from these boots really help. I wear them grocery shopping and notice a real difference - better than sneakers! Coming up around the ankle is beneficial.

Purchased this for an upcoming week-long hiking trip. This shoe is great for a person who has problematic feet (e.g. bunion). It's wide without being a boat, and offers good support. The vibram sole is excellent and reliable.

I purchased this boot in preparation for a 670~ mile pilgrimage early next year and relied on the previous reviews to make my choice. The boot looks heavy because it is well made but is actually fairly lightweight for a hiking boot. I've been training for the past three months and doing hikes between 5-15 miles on trails and pavement and the boot is holding up well and there are no issues with comfort. Of course, my big toe hurt (area under the medial capsule) after the first 15 miler and there was some lingering discomfort but I think that was expected and not a reflection of the boot. Unfortunately, I'll have to purchase another boot in a few months because this one will not last the entire pilgrimage. I usually wear between a size 9 and 9.5 and I purchased a 10W. My feet are wide and I wear the Injinjin sock liner with a hiking sock over the liner as well as a shoe insert for extra support and the 10W fits perfectly. No blisters. I read that the boot is not waterproof and I can't comment much on this. I've done some wet, muddy trails but I haven't hiked in heavy rain. All in all the boot looks nice, is comfortable, well made, and decently priced.

These boots not only add comfort to your hike but allow you to climb rocks without slipping and are truly waterproof. Thank you merrell for actually producing a product true to word.

These boots are amazing. They are very light and so comfortable. I have arthritis in my ankle but these give great support to that bad ankle. No need to break them in. I would highly recommend these to anyone who likes to hike/walk long distances and has arthritis in their feet or ankles. They run very true to size also.

I have owned this pair for more than a week and used the shoes for a trek through hilly terrain. I found the shoes to be comfortable and of excellent quality. A little heavier than expected, but provide good grip and help prevent skidding on slippery surfaces. I loved my experience with the Moab 2.

I love these hiking boots. I had ordered my regular size, but they were a little too small, so went a 1/2 size up, as other reviewers had recommended. Now I have a perfect fit. They grey color is nice, with just enough blue so that they are not boring. I highly recommend them.

These are great! The fit well and are very comfortable. Water resistant ad described. I wore them hiking the day they came in and they barely needed any breaking in. They also look good - I've received many complements on them.

Nothing spoils my feet like Moab's do. I could wear these for 24 hours in a row and my feet wouldn't get tired or hurt. I find Merrell mostly always runs true to size.

I wear these boots in very cold weather to walk with the dog along some fairly icy, snowy trails. They are definitely waterproof, warm and comfortable with a heavy pair of hiking socks. I have worn them in sub zero weather and they were great. I have had two pairs of these which I order from a local shoe store and hope you continue to make them. I also wear cleats over them when I hike on icy trails and they fit nicely.

These have definitely proven to be waterproof for me. I was out hiking with the dogs during this winter and stepped on something I thought was solid. It turned out to be 2" deep ice water which I got to trudge through for about 50 feet of trail. My socks stayed dry, the outside of the boots were soaked, but my feet were dry and happy. I've also taken these through several inches of half melted slush a number of times.

I got these half a size larger and wear Injinjin liner toe socks along with a regular sock so the shoe fits perfectly. I've been breaking them in for a trekking trip that I will be taking in a few months and the shoe is comfortable right out of the box. Well built, sturdy, comfortable, and nice looking.
