Oh Merrell, these hikers feel as though I've slid into my favorite slippers. Bunion - no problem, plenty of room in the toe box in my normal size but in wide. High arch? The cushiony insides of these boots perfectly wrap & support the shape of my foot. Granite color is nice, trimmed in periwinkle. Hoping these truly are waterproof, as another reviewer stated hers were not, same happened with my last pair of Merrell hiking shoes. The prior pair to that one lasted me 5 years of incredible hikes in all kinds of weather.

This is my second pair of Merrell's. I've had the first pair for 4 years and they are wearing out, but hey are STILL waterproof after 4 years of hiking several days a week. The first pair was comfortable to walk in right out of the box. So is the 2nd pair. I noticed the toe box on my new pair is more roomy which I like because there's room for thicker socks in the winter. These new boots were so comfy that I walked 4 miles in them the first time I wore them. I highly recommend these boots. I may even buy another pair in case they change them again! These lightweight hikers are perfect for my needs.

These boots really saved my feet when hiking! I had been going out in sneakers and my toes would hurt so bad after an extensive hiking. After a recent trip to Yosemite and 21 miles of hiking in 2 day, I am so glad I purchased these. They were comfortable, stylish and kept my feet in good shape all weekend!

I am VERY happy with these boots! I bought them for a hiking trip out west and did not wear them at all before traveling. They were comfortable right out of the box. I ordered a size larger than my dress shoe size, just as I do with my running sneakers. Perfect. I highly recommend these!

Bought these Merrell Moab 2 Mid Waterproof hikers after reading numerous reviews on various brands and styles. As an occasional hiker (maybe once or twice a month on moderate to slightly difficult trails), I was looking for something that was affordable yet comfortable. I especially like that the toe box is roomy on these (bunion issues) and I found that there was a minimal break-in period -- they were fine right out of the box but have gotten even more comfortable as I've worn them on hikes. Not too heavy and the tread seems adequate and is stiff enough to protect the sole of my foot from rocks, etc. along the trail. I haven't had the opportunity to wear them in extremely wet conditions, just some rainy weather and light water on the trails, so I can't say whether they are truly waterproof or not. Eventually I may move up to a full height hiker but for now, the mids are fine for the terrain I'm on. Got these in an 8.5, which is my usual athletic shoe size, and the fit was perfect. My husband got a pair of these as well (in Mens) and likes his, too!

Last year I purchased these same boots in the lower boot style. This year my health provider recommended ankle support, so because the Merrell MOAB low boots did a great job for me hiking up to ten miles over rocky and steep terrain last summer out west, I went right to the taller version and expect they will feel great and be blister-free right out of the box as well. They felt great with awesome ankle support in the initial try-on and that's as far as I've gotten before writing this. I don't remember trying the low boots in rain or mud, so I can't comment on that. I liked the choice of colors and the style overall as well. I usually wear extra arch support (high arches and history of PT tendon dysfunction and plantar fasciitis) and I am not sure I will need it in these boots, at least initially. They feel that good. p.s. Another story about Zappos from a few years ago - I mistakenly returned some running shoes with my custom orthotics still in them -- a mini crisis for me! When I called Zappos they tracked them down, apologized (for my dumb mistake ?!!? I told them they were not at fault at all) and returned them to me free of charge in about two days. :)

Omg this is like the best shoe ever. First pair of hiking shoes. Got these for a trip to Arizona hiking trip. I am 7.5 TTS. A little wide on the foot. So I went up to size 8 like most reviewers suggested. I think sizing up did help with the width. I could still put 1 finger in the shoe behind my feet so I was a little worried but it worked out perfectly since our feet tend to swell with walking. There was no need to break it in. This shoe is so amazing. It was like walking on clouds when we did our hikes! So good I got a pair each for my parents!
