The Moab are very comfortable with good arch support. Merrell wide width boots are the only hiking boots that fit my feet. My last 4 pairs over 20 years have all been Merrell! I tried other well known brands and returned them for these, the Moab are wide through the ball of the foot and don't narrow in the toe box like others.

This is the second pair of Merrell womens Moab 2 Mid Waterproof hiking boots that I have ordered. Both times, they were comfortable right out of the box. I don't even need to break them in before going hiking with them.

Ankle braces and custom orthotics are less encouraging for the wanna be hiker than these motivators. Got my first pair and they did great climbs in the Easter Sierras and then on to run with me on Winter Minnesota trails. Finally seeing the name squish into the sole I orderd another pair. Happy to see they were not discontinued. Put them on the day of arrival( fast 2 day on standard free delivery) with a fresh strong support fit. Never had to "break" them in. Hit the trail and total comfort just great memory of a first day with a perfect new fit. I love this all purpose boot!

I have wide feet and a bad ankle that's sometimes prone to swelling. These kept me comfortable all hiking season with thick socks. I did have some squishing in the toes if I didn't tie the boots to just the right tightness, but I learned what that felt like and was able to adjust pretty well on the fly. I liked them so much I bought the shoe version, too.

I believe these are the most comfortable boot I have ever owned. I have high arches and these boots give me such comfort i forgot i was even wearing boots. Great for shopping and hiking. !

I wore these shoes to hike in and loved them! I use custom orthotics and the orthotics fit perfect in these. The material used in the shoes is very comfortable and prevents your feet from getting too hot.

I bought two pair of Moab 2 boots, the ventilator and the waterproof. Both fit mostly true to size, but this waterproof boot just felt like it hugged my feet more comfortably. I love the fit and the style. It has wonderful arch and ankle support and it has nice padding in the heal area, where most of my weight sits. We recently went hiking on a trail that was mostly rocks and uphill, these boots were great for stability and my feet didn't hurt at all! There's no breaking in needed! I love them!

I have narrow heels, and there was no slipping. Working/hiking outdoors for my job. No blisters, no sores. I would buy these again. I wear a size 9.5 Nike and ordered a 9.5 and the fit was perfect.

My last pair lasted 7 years. I am a size 10 but ordered a size 11 last time, and so did the same this time. They fit exactly the same and are very comfortable. My toe-box is a bit wider but I didnt need to order a wide width.

Wow! Where have these shoes been all my life? I have problem feet - bunions and plantar fasciitis previously and these shoes are so comfortable and supportive that I don't notice those problems. I have orthotics and I don't need/want them with these shoes - they are that comfortable! I use them for walking my dog on pavement and hiking in forests with rougher terrain, and they're perfect for both. I can't wear my other shoes now because they are not nearly as comfortable as the Merrells . I wear a size 8/8.5 depending on the shoe and the 8.5 fit perfectly. I don't really have wide feet but the having bunions makes wide width shoes a necessity. I'll be buying more Merrell shoes soon because they're all I want to wear now.

I first saw these boots in a magazine on an airplane. That was 6 years ago! I finally ordered the MOAB Mid 2 Waterproof boots and I have been more than pleased. These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had on my feet. I got the wide version because the ball of my foot is a bit wide. These are my go to shoes whenever I leave my house! I have arthritis in my spine and when I wear these boots my back doesn't hurt.

I live by a park & now that I work from home, I beat back the stir crazy feelings by hiking. Lots & lots of hiking on gorgeous trails, some more rugged than others, some mired in mud from spring rains right now. I have had good luck with Merrells in the past & ordered these. I could not be happier, they were comfy from the first time I laced them up. And I adore the color!

This is my first pair of real hiking footwear and I am blown away. The padding is phenomenal and the support is felt instantly in my lower back, a problem area for me. I have a problem where my ankles bend inwards so I need a mid to high fit, and I am able to walk all day without coming home needing my wraps. My feet were completely dry after a walk through wet fields and muddy conditions.

Review of the shoe:
I got these shoes about a week ago and just got back from a backpacking trip with my brother yesterday. I had a similar pair of hiking boots before this pair and absolutely loved them (they got stolen so I needed a new pair). I had those boots for over three years and they still felt brand new. The new boots held up great (especially for not being able to break them in). From the moment I put them on they were the best fitting shoes I have ever had. I did yard work and a workout in them to prepare/break them in for the hike. During the hike, I trekked through water, mud, and up and down very steep inclines. The boots kept my feet dry the whole time and did not give me any problems. Overall a great shoe! Great arch support, waterproof holds up, and great ankle support. I love my Merrells!
Customer service review:
The first day, I unfortunately sank half my leg into a river and completely drenched the inside of my shoe. That night, I attempted to dry the shoes by the fire and one ended up falling in, it melted and shrank half a size. I called zappos today to see what I could do about getting a new pair and the lady was so nice and immediately sent out a new pair for no extra cost. The call took no longer than 10 minutes and I am so happy with the customer service that I had to write a review. Happy shopping!!!

exchanged for same shoes but half size larger b/c I like lots of room in toe box. LOVE these boots! wore them out for first time, right of of box, for a 12 mile difficult hike and they were perfect. Always been happy with Merrell boots. Only thing I changed, was replaced insoles with extreme supportive ones....Always do in my new athletic shoes/boots.
