I resisted purchasing legit hiking shoes for the longest time, but I am so glad I finally gave in and bought these Merrells. They are SO comfortable and make me feel like I'm walking on clouds. They make my ankle feel very secure, like I'm less likely to twist it. I had great traction hiking over slippery rocks. No blisters, no break-in process. Just all around really well made and great shoes! Hoping to get a lot of great use out of these!

Need I say more? After years of searching and trying on hiking boots and many unsatisfactory purchases, I've finally found a boot that fits and feels comfortable. The wide Moab is the first boot that accommodates the bunion on my left foot. This is actually my 4th pair. I put more than 1200 miles on the first pair. They weren't really suited to wearing crampons so they were somewhat damaged when I used them for walking on a glacier. But I continued to wear them around home until I wore the soles down. The second pair was great as well. Very comfortable but started to bother my toes going down steep trails. My feet are changing as I age. So I started wearing then for my daily walks and went up half a size. Love my third pair a half size up for hiking on the trails. Have about 500 miles so far. They're holding up well. My 4th pair that I just purchased is back in the closet on reserve.
As for waterproof, I'm very satisfied. I don't use them for wading in streams, but walking on rivulets flowing down the trail or in wet conditions, they've kept my feet dry.
If they only came in all leather, I'd have a 5th pair for winters and really dusty trails.

This hard wearing boot is the bomb! They fit my feet perfectly, right out of the box and I am now wearing them every day. I assumed that they might be stiff and that I would have to break them in. Not so! I am giving them hard use and they feel like old friends!

No break in needed with these boots. I've already hiked 30 miles in the boots with zero foot issues. Thank you Merrell!

I stick mostly to maintained hiking trails but occasionally need to pass through streams so I wanted a waterproof boot that was sturdy and durable but also budget friendly. Boots are true to size and very comfortable straight out of the box which was important because I didn't want to have to break them in with blisters, etc. These boots are nice for the occasional, recreational hiker.

These hiking boots are very comfortable. I have a wide foot, and appreciate that this boot comes in wide. When I received my boots, I wore them around my house initially, then did a short hike, then a five-mile hike, then a longer hike. My feet are very happy in them! My previous hiking boots - also in a wide width, but by a different manufacturer - gave me terrible blisters. I definitely recommend these!

Absolutely love these boots. Took my maiden hike with them yesterday for 8 miles up a steep, rocky & muddy trail. My feet stayed bone dry and they felt so comfortable right out of the box. Usually I get knee pain down really rough descents, but there was almost nothing. I also love the grips on the bottom of these boots. I see a bright future hiking the peaks of the northeast!!

Still hiking at age 70 years young! As advertised these were exceedingly comfortable straight out of the box. I even wear them for gardening on uneven ground.

Amazing comfort. As an aircraft mechanic I am on my feet all day. The Moab 2 fits like a glove. My feet and legs feel as energized at the end of the day as in the beginning.

Wore these on a 10 mile hike in Lake Tahoe. Barely broke them in before the hike and they were still very comfortable and held up well on the rocky terrain. Worked well over small streams as well. Highly recommend!

I'd like to thank these boots for making my non stop hiking trip possible. 14 miles, 9hr hike into the Grand Canyon in 103 degrees then a over a full week of daily multiple hikes, miles a day in Sedona. My feet where cool, comfortable and did cringe every day I put them on. Zero blisters, zero pain. I'm so happy I invested in these. Once your feet hurt during a long hiking trip you're done. Can't wait to buy another pair of Merrill's!!!!

These hiking shoes were comfortable right out of the box. No break in time needed! Immediately went on a six mile hike and had no issues what so ever with these shoes. They run true to size.

I can't say enough good about these hiking boots. My hiking partners are probably getting tired of hearing how much I love them! They were comfortable immediately. I initially climbed the highest peak in Maine (the Northern most point of the Appalachian Trail) including boulder climbing and slippery rock beds with no problems, having worn them minimally prior to this hike. I find them to have excellent grip scrambling onto boulders or up/down ladder rungs. I've used them for multiple hikes on both wet and dry surfaces and felt equally confident in all situations. They are true to size, have excellent foot support and are stylish as well as lightweight. I LOVE MY MERRELLS!

I purchased these shoes for an upcoming hiking trip to the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone and Glacier National Park. They are very comfortable out of the box, but I did find they increased in comfort after a few walks around the neighborhood. I love the color and cannot wait to test them out in the National Parks.

I have the Moab 2 waterproof in 3 colors: granite, espresso, bungee cord. Love them all. Wanted to buy another pair in espresso, and disappointed to find they are out of stock in my size (7.5). I hope the espresso will come back into production, as they don't show trail dirt. The Moab 2 is sturdy but flexible, hugs ankles for stability, good on rough trails as well as the street. They are also attractive and versatile for casual wear. Please bring back the color Espresso.

These hiking boots are so comfortable. I wore them for a 4 hour hike up & down a mountain on the 1st day. So much cushioning, arch support and a roomie toe box that was most important. I can’t wait til my next hike in a few days!

After my last pair of boots and an increase in 1/2 shoe size, I bought another pair of Merrill's. I only wore them around the house once before packing them on a trip to Zion and Bryce. They were great! I did not get any blisters and they were very stable on the rocks and long climb of the West Rim trail.
