These boots are comfy, cushiony, and very warm. I went on a walk in 0 degree weather in Michigan with no socks, and my feet were actually warm when other parts of my body were cold. They also have a nice, gripping sole for walking on snow and ice, which is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted hiking boots that I could wear on my walks on a country road and not slip and fall. They do add a little bit of height, and do run slightly small. If you're hesitating about the size, I would order 1/2 size up. I wear between an 8.5 and a 9, and the 9 fits perfectly.

Moab 2 mid for women is a great hiking boot. Size 10 1/2 wide is an excellent fit. I find that merrell boots run narrow. Very pleased that size 10 1/2 in wide became available. Size 10 1/2 wide is difficult to find. Customer service at Zappos is amazing! Thank you!!!

Have a Merrell WP Moab low cut hiking shoe from years ago, that only came in one width. I'm usually an 8.5 C/D (or W) Women's, but required a 9 in that older model. When ordering this new pair in the WP Moab mid height, they are now offering it in two widths, M and W. I have always had issues with shoes being too tight width-wise my whole life, so I decided to try the Wide width, going with the size 9, as before. Well, they were way too loose. Then ordered an 8.5W to see if that would work. Also very loose. So I guess the Wide width has got to be for people with REALLY wide feet, not just people who have PRETTY WIDE feet, like me. They are both going back, and I will try the Medium sizes, which have worked in the past.

I am currently in Scotland on a hiking trip marked by intense rain and wind. These boots are very comfortable for walking around cities and hiking up hills but be forewarned—THEY ARE NOT WATERPROOF!! At all. At the end of my first day hiking, I had to literally pour out about 1/4 cup of water from each boot. They dried well on top of the hotel heater overnight, so that’s a plus, I guess.

I liked the style and overall feel of this boot. But unfortunately, as other reviewers have stated, the arch support is positioned incorrectly. It was too far back in the boot. I’m returning them.

I bought these in 2017 and the boot has good support but runs small. I was very DISAPPOINTED with them for they are listed as being waterproof but they ARE NOT WATERPROOF!! I hike in the woods in the North West with wet grass and leaves and the boot would be wet inside from heavy due or rain. I have orthodontic and the would get wet and I really didn't like my Orthodontics getting wet and having to dry them out for my other shoes to walk the rest of the day. That was the main reason I brought these boots and they failed in that department. That is why I gave a low overall rating! To me waterproof means my insoles and socks won't get wet when wearing them!

This is my first pair of Merrells and I absolutely love them. My husband has worn them for years. As we were getting ready for a trip he recommended them to me and I am sure happy that I listened. They were great for hiking. I also wore them at Niagara Falls and found that as I walked close to the falls, my feet stayed dry while the rest of me got wet. While this was my first pair, it won't be the last.

Bought these for my mom. She had the same pair for over ten years and finally needed an upgrade (so they really do last!). She put them on and was instantly in love. Has worn them every day since. She usually wears orthotics but these have such good support she doesn’t even need them. Fit true to size, and pretty good looking for a hiking boot!

Superior shoe for hiking in the desert like my daughter just did with the pair that I sent her! She went to Joshua Tree for a weekend and she wore these boots because I own the exact same ones; and I have used mine to hike up Mount Monadnock - on the other side of the USA! Haha we love these hikers and we both said the comfort from the moment we put them on day after day for the whole weekend was just great! No problem! Feet feel good and better even at the end of the day. No wet feet and warm and dry.

These are the best hiking boots ever, I felt like I was wearing soft gloves on my feet. I use them every day on my 1-2 hour hikes up and down hill and they are the best thing that happened to my feet, ever. Thank you!

Snug but comfortable. The shoes fit so snuggly, I was worried they were too tight, but I had room in the toe box, so I took them hiking. We took a vacation to the Arches NP, Mesa Verde NP and Grand Canyon NP. These shoes were so comfortable and supportive. Absolutely wonderful to hike it. I had purchase scrambling over rocks and was able to go for hours. Wonderful shoes.

My prior pair of hiking boots were Merrell Moab 2 but not the mid height. I got the mid height to have just a little more ankle support. The mid is just the right height for support but not so high that it rubs. There is no break in needed for me with these boots. I have a very wide and small foot so I am thrilled with the wide width, which is hard to find in hiking boots. The tread is amazing and lasts forever. These boots have really held up for me in any terrain. I love that they are waterproof.

True to fit and size. Good arch support for my high arches. Good fit for my narrow heels and wide Fred Flintstone toes. Laces easy to adjust for varying degrees of ankle support. Super quality, consistent with other Merrell shoes. Color is neutral. I am 68 years old, with aging eyesight. Needed sturdy, comfortable hiking boots that are easy to lace up and tie by feel. These are extremely comfortable, somewhat lightweight for hiking boots. Baby blue lace slots are easily visible, but not little girly enough to be embarrassing. I highly recommend these boots!

Love this boot for hiking and walking in the rain. Fit is right on and the roomy toe box is the best for my aging feet.

Wore these to break them in before taking to the trails. I was pleased with the fit, roomy toe box and arch support. For wearing just twice now, am sure they will be comfortable for longer treks. I walked through very wet grass and my socks stayed dry. I would recommend these!

Tried out these great boots hiking in the canyons in Arizona. I did get a blister when I first wore them but then they were fine. It was pretty hot outside but the boots were breathable. I did use wicking hiking socks so that probably helped!

I couldn't be happier with these! I purposely walked through the recent snow (stayed super warm and dry) and then the aftermath after the melting began. Puddles up to the laces, and they stayed completely dry! I'm thrilled. I also like the way the sole sort of "rocks" me forward, it made my walks much easier not having to fight against the shoe. It's almost as if these want to take on the terrain as much as I do!

These boots were immediately comfortable with both heavy socks and with lighter weight socks. I have a narrow heal and have issues finding hiking boots that work. The footbed is also comfortable. I have planter fasciitis and these boots offered good support. I tried them on and left them on for the whole day. Very satisfied.

These work wonderfully for me. I work in a warehouse with concrete floors and going up and down stairs for 10-15 hour shifts. I have plantar fasciitis and these have helped keep the pain down better than any regular sneaker could (and I've tried nearly all of them). I'm ordering a second pair.

Great purchase! I've hiked many miles in them, including 4 miles right out of the box with no issues. I would consider myself a recreational, rather than serious, hiker and these are perfect. Comfortable and great looking.
I'd also recommend:

Love this boot. Ready to go on day one. If you want a substantial hiking boot that’s not too heavy and roomy enough for your foot to feel comfortable, this one is a winner.
