The only issue I have is that the inserts are thin and uncomfortable, definitely not Merrell's best.

For me, these boots felt 100 times better than my normal brand when I tried them on and much lighter. It was a no brainer. The boots seem well constructed and they would have nailed 5 stars for me. They probably are and should be 5 stars for someone else, these issues might never affect you. However after a few days of wearing them for break in, the insoles offered no support or cushion, I went through 4 pairs of insoles finding something that worked and was comfortable. Traction was good on various mountain terrain and dry/wet locations. During my 5 days in the Rocky Mountains, I also end up with wet socks, I don't feel they are waterproof, maybe water resistant. This was not from setting in any water directly, but it had rained, so this was from walking through tall wet grass and brush. They fit well, I wear a 9 usually in most running shoes, but go down to 8.5 in my boots and these fit well in 8.5 wide. I also seemed to have an issue with comfort only on the outer middle area of my left foot. After break in and different insoles, my right boot felt great and no issues, but I had constant discomfort from that area of my left foot. I have taken a week long break from wearing them after my trip and tried them again, same area of my left outer foot seems off. Overall, still very nice, lightweight hiking boots, would have been 5 stars with better insoles and waterproofing.

My go-to hiking boot for over a decade. I've tried others. This boot consistently is the best blend of flexible and rugged. A wider toe box helps my wider foot and a deeper depth supports a thicker custom insole. I take these boots into woods in all seasons of the years and am able to put 300 to 400 miles on them before they graduate to lawn work boots. The lone issue I've had with the boot, consistently, is that the gore-tex fails along the seams at a very specific spot after only about 50 miles of use. Every boot. Same spot. After that the boot will keep you drier but not dry.

I didn't give this shoe a 5 star rating because I really need a narrower C size. To be fair not many manufacturers offer a narrower shoe size. The arch support isn't as effective for me as it should be due to the width. Other than that the shoe has Merrell's usual build quality that will last and hold up to a lot of hiking.

Great shoe. Comfortable. Warm. Definitely Goretex; I'm sweating in the north eastern climate in the fall. This shoe is more for early winter but awesome overall.

First let me say that I bought these based on new larger size shoes that I had to purchase and even though I did not measure a wide width the new shoes quite tight. So not wanting hiking boots to be tight and affecting my circulation in my feet I bought the wide width and if necessary where an extra pair of socks. I did a 5.5 mile hike with 1200 FT elevation gain. They work very well going uphill but since I did not wear the extra pair of socks they were loose in the front behind the tongue of the boot and it did bother me going downhill. But all in all they were good boot.

Fit and foot support is excellent. These waterproof versions are a bit hot to wear above 60F

I forgot I had them on. That's how comfortable they are. I'm not sure 6 month now if they will be.

The Moab are very comfortable and easy to break in. You might want to get some Dr Scholls gel insoles though for hiking. The removable insoles that come with the boot are cheesy.

Received today, they are a bit snug for me hopefully they will loosen up a little after using. I 9 in work boots do i can use thick socks, These are 8.5 & like i said, snug with regular socks. But walk well in them and better that most made in China. These are not.

I would change my review to 5 stars if Merrell changes the term waterproof to water resistant. These are fantastic shoes and highly recommend, but they soak through in about 4 miles of forest trails in a light rain. I was happy they lasted that long, but not waterproof.

Very comfortable shoe as is every Merrell I've owned. I love all my Merrells. My only complaint is in the waterproof labeling. My socks and feet get damp even in wet grass.

These ended up falling apart about 35 days after i purchased them. The sole is coming off, and looks like defective glue of some sort. The customer service made up for the lack of quality though.

Moab 2 mid waterproof. I have worn them only once. So, it is too early to give an accurate review. However, I am satisfied with the way they felt during my first hike. That's why I gave them 4 stars. I should mention that the price I paid for them it was great!

So I needed a quality pair of waterproof hiking boots, for non-winter time wear. Went with the Moab 2. Since the waterproofing is weak on hiking boots in general, applied 2 coats of silicone waterproofing spray. This repels water on top of the boot quite well. These do need some breaking in, not for a first time long hike. I like the stiffness and support these Merrell boots provide. Once broken in, these boot's will do me just fine. My feet feel so much better than what the old hiking boot's were providing. The only con is the cheap short/laces that come with the boots, replaced immediately with a wave/non slip lace. Overall I would recommend these boot's

Great shoes although the laces are a bit short for my high instep. Otherwise I love 'em. I must since this is my third pair.

Excellent out of the box boots. I have worn these boots for years and well made, excellent waterproofing, stable ankle support. One suggestion for improvement would be a thicker insole(not memory foam) for more footbed comfort, as the insoles seem to need replacement after 100 miles or so.

These are nice boots. Merrill slip on fit me fine in wide. In Danner boots and New Balance I am a 4E. Dissapointed the last is not like their other shoes. Glad I have a boot stretcher so they will work for me. Good ankle support and traction.
