This boot fit perfect right out of the box. There was no break-in period. It provides great traction, superior support, and outstanding comfort. The best boot I have owned.

I'm kind of a creature of habit. I find something that works, feels good, performs as advertised, looks good for a long time, then I'm in. I purchased my first pair of (low cut) Moab's 6 years ago. Wore them all summer that year and bought a second pair of Moab's but in the mid cut and waterproof for winter. I wore these daily for 5 years and then converted them to work boots. They served me well and I only took them out of service because the Vibram soles were worn enough to make me want some better traction. I cleaned these up with soap and water and now have relegated them to yard work boots. Bought the new pair of Moab 2s on line, and have worn them several times already for casual wear. Fit was perfect out of the box, quality of workmanship as good as I expected. Yet to be seen if they have the stamina my old Mids had but we shall seen. By the way, still wearing the low cuts for casual wear, still look and feel as good as the day I put them on. BTW, someone asked me why I bought the first pair. I tell them I saw a picture of a Navy Seal coming out of a hut in Afghanistan and his bootwear sported the Merrell orange seal on the tongue. It was obvious they were Moab's and I decided if it was good enough for the guys toting the heavy load downrange then it was good enough for an old guy like me.

Excellent fit and comfort right out of the box. Sturdy construction and good support for hiking. I haven't been in water, but you can definitely tell there is a water barrier. I would definitely recommend these boots to others.

I hike my dogs in the Florida pines where the ground cover varies from pine needles to thorny vines, standing water, and thick Palmetto groves. Sometimes I have to blaze trails with my feet and have come to depend on Moab Mids for protection, stability, durability, and water-tight integrity. I always order Merrells a half size larger to accommodate a heavier sock when hiking.

When I do not need steal toe shoes at work, I love my Merrell's. Great grip, breathable, but the toe box did tear sooner than I would have liked.

I'm fixing to purchase a second pair of these boots after having used my first pair as everyday wear for 4 years and then assigning them work boot status. After 1.5 years in a metal recycling environment, they are still going strong. A good washing every 3 months insures they not only wear well but look great too. This is without a doubt the best pair of boots I've owned, ever.

Nice fit and good traction. Would give 5 stars if the tongue wasn't excessively padded.

Sole comes off in heel and sometimes toes. Try to seal back up but water gets in and they literally squeak when it's wet out (a lot). If they weren't so comfortable

They are very comfortable, order a little bigger! I'm a 45, ordered 46 but maybe a 46.5 would have worked out better. Next time.

Got these for Christmas and I love the feel of them! They're comfortable and feel like a good pair of broke in shoes. My only complaint so far is the sole is starting to come apart. I've worn them for a week total. Just looks like someone could of been a little more liberal with the glue.

Overall, very happy with the Moab 2 Mid. I have mainly used it for walking around the neighborhood 10-15 miles per week. I've put many miles on them, so it is time for a new pair since the strings have shredded and water leaks in through the bottom now.

Comfortable right out of the box. Good looks. Nice tread pattern. Sole wears out fast on pavement due to soft compound though.

Good value. Used for hiking ( no pack) and outdoor work boot. Im 6' , 200 lbs, good support. Fabric is not ideal for muddy terrain. Fits true to size.

Very comfortable, pretty high drop (heel to toe) and I'm more of a 0mm guy. But the shoe was definitely comfortable

My 3rd pair of these. They are always comfortable right out of the box with no break in required. Very good traction from the soles, too. 2 negatives every time: Have to double knot the laces or they come untied very easily. They are not waterproof contrary to what the description says. Walking in damp grass, the tops of my toes always feel wet. Neither of these issues keeps me from buying these due to the comfort.

Good looking boot. True fit and comfortable. My go to "shoe" as the weather has gotten much colder and this boot helps to keep my feet warm. Seems to help with circumstances calling for a lot of walking in the City. Have found my previous Merrell shoes/purchases have met my expectations

I guess I can't complain. I am rarely able to find shoes labeled as wide that are actually very wide. If they don't say 4E or 5E, then they are usually just a bit wider than normal. I guess I can complain! Hope they break in and end up being as comfortable as the pair I had years ago.

This is my third pair of these. They've updated them some and the uppers are not as wide as they used to be but the boots work well.

I've have owned a pair of these boots for a couple of years. I hike moderate to difficult terrain in the Pacific Northwest Cascades. The stitching eventually broke down and the boots leaked. Unfortunately, the boots still have a lot of life left in them, but I can't depend on them for where I hike. Other than that, it's been a good hiking boot.
