This is the second pair of Merrell Moab Mid Waterproof that I own. I only purchased a second pair to get a different color. The original pair is still going strong. I made that purchase after hearing that our service members were buying and wearing them in combat environments. Being a former Marine myself, I know how personal purchases can be a strong indicator of a product's quality. I was not disappointed. They are probably the most comfortable pair of footwear right out of the box of any other that I have ever bought. They have held up well, and I highly recommend them.

Have only been in the MOAB 2 for a few days and I am instantly in love. I have them in the color "Beluga" which is a perfect color for anyone who has a uniform or even just for someone who likes to keep it simple. Looking forward to buying my next pair already.

I've been wearing Merrell hiking boots for quite a while. They are light but still offer decent support, and waterproof. They retain solid toe protection and a stable chassis. Highly recommended!

Comfortable boot with a roomy toe box. Very stable and surprisingly not too warm on the feet.

These boots are very well built and they have all the features you will need. Great fit and Vibram sole. Great toe protection. Waterproofing is ideal. These should last for many years. Buy these boots.

I've been wearing my MOAB's now for 5 straight days, yard work, gardening, hiking...etc, and they feel great. Plus no wet feet when walking thru the heavy dew each morning. So glad they are waterproof, and I'v testing them each morning.

I ruck and hike frequently with 50+ lbs, before I was using salomons and oakleys, my friend told me to try out some Merrell's telling me that they were amazing and after all the quality issues with Salomons I was ready to finally try out these boots. After 100+ miles in these I can confidently say they are the best I have owned and I will continue to buy more of these in the future.

After a couple of rocky hikes in trail running shoes, I decided to invest in a boot with some support. These are just what I was looking for. They give good ankle support without a lot of extra weight.
In addition, I think they look really great.

i purchased my first pair of 2 years ago to hunt and go exploring with my son in a 13 wide and found them so comfortable and enjoyable to walk in i realized that my weight was now holding me back but since my feet felt so good and traction was not an issue ( being over weight slipping is no fun ) i started walking / hiking 2 to 4 mile before work and more on the weekends plus chasing a 6 year old around i decided to start eating better and have lost about 130 lbs to date i would like to thank merrell ..as odd as it is .. they were the beginning of my ahh haa moment .. so now that i have slimmed down i found the 13 wides too big and the 12 wide to short so i looked online and found they actually have a 12.5 wide i about lost it so now im healthy and am loving being active everyday
awesome shoes for all types of activities and we do just about anything and everything adn these boot are the common fact in all of it thanks again merrell

The Moab boots are great mid-weight general hiking boots. I say general because if I was really slogging it out and backpacking with a heavy pack I personally *might* consider something heavier to prevent ankle roll under weight. That said, for a few nights with light gear or long day hikes these are pretty hard to beat. Virtually zero break-in needed. Great traction on everything I've thrown at them from dirt trails to bushwhacking in deciduous forest, dry creek beds, steep loose trail, rock ledges... All handled well and feet felt great at the end of the day. If Merrell fits your foot type, get real hiking socks and you really can't go wrong on these.

I went on a hike with just regular shoes last week. My right calf was tight and my feet killed me. I barely made it through the hike. Upon a friend's suggestion I bought these shoes. I went on the same hike and what difference. Absolutely amazing shoes. I can't believe I didn't discover these shoes until now. Absolutely no pain. I could have gone for another 8 miles.

My husband and son love these shoes. Husband has ankle problems and these are the only shoes that he wears with no pain. Well worth the money.

Wore them to work one day. Next time was 9.2 miles in Saguaro National Park in 100 degrees. 2600' ascent and right back down - feet felt 100%. I am very hopeful they are good for the long haul. Great performer.
