I usually wear a size 20 and am pretty proportional. I was disappointed in these pants because they fit at least once size too small...maybe more like 1.5 sizes too small. There was no give at all in the material. It seemed good quality, just not actually designed for plus size women.

I had high hopes in these. I ordered three different sizes to try. The 18w was way too small in the waist and there is zero give in it. The 20w were way too big. The difference in fit was crazy!! I didn't even try the 16w. I am so disappointed. I have a big butt, hips, and thighs, and a mom stomach. I am stuck between the regular sizes and plus sizes and these just didn't work. Bring back the Climber Canyon Boot cut pants! They were perfect. Need more plus size petite options as well. I also think all pants should have give in the waist, but that's just me.

Not cool Columbia how you changed sizes. I have gained weight thanks to health issues. I ordered the same Sat pants as my favorite old pair, size 16. Plus size 18 was too small. When I pulled out my old pair - they are almost the same size!! The material is also very different, with no stretch at all and way too thick for summer hiking pants. Fat girls like to hike too, fix your sizing!!

I have other Columbia pants in the same size. These run about 4" too narrow in the waist! Returning them.

I bought these for in-stream field work. The fit was more or less okay, though I was worried that they wouldn't hold up to heavy use. That turned out not to be a problem though, because the design of the pockets made them absolutely unusable! Of the things I need to carry every day, only my key fob or chapstick would fit into the front pockets UNTIL YOU TRY TO SIT DOWN. At which point they fall out. The zip pocket was too small for my phone or my billfold, and trying to carry the phone in a back pocket works, again, only until you attempt to sit down.
On the other hand, the Columbia Quick dry pants I bought in the men's style can fit a 750 ml water bottle in the front pocket. Make of that what you will.

I was so disappointed by these pants. I am 5'2 280 I wear a size 24. these pants need about 0.25 more space in the tummy and I found the butt to be very uncomfortable because it gave a constant wedge look and feel. if you look at the models you will see it. however I didn't notice it till I tried them on and went back and looked at the pic. if you don't mind the feel of a an almost wedgie then the will work for you . they make the butt look great but the fit was night right for me.

I have several pairs of Saturday trail pants and finally ordered them in black. Unfortunately, they are marred by light grey marking of Omni-shield on the OUTSIDE of the pant leg making them only usable in totally casual settings and not as nice pants which they could have been. I do not understand why Columbia totally destroyed such a nice pair of pants. These will go back and I am highly disappointed. My other pairs of Saturday trail pants are not marked like this and still look nice.

Whoever designed these pants has clearly never met a woman above a size 8. These pants make no sense in a larger size and can't possibly work in larger sizes. Good for you for trying to offer additional sizes, but it was done with such horrible execution that I won't be trying again. After 5 failed attempts, clearly Columbia does not know what they are doing with plus size clothing.
