Another quality Allen Edmonds product. These are great boots and the walnut color if very rich. There seem a bit narrow to me and I ended up going with an E.

I wear 10.5 3e in everything I wear, including other pairs of boots. With these boots, 3e doesn't feel enough, theyre incredibly restricting on my toes. I was hoping that they'd break in over time, but it's been a slow process. I even bought a boot stretcher to quicken that period, but they're still not there yet. Minus that fact, the boots are great quality. They have a very nice look and feel to the leather. I couldn't lower the rating too much as most people don't have as wide of feet as me. If they were just a little wider, they'd be perfect. Unfortunately, since they aren't, I doubt I will ever buy this brand again.

This boot looks great with jeans or slacks. Although it seems more adept at dressing up jeans, but it's not a 'rugged' type of boot. It fits well, and feels well constructed. However, you won't know how well constructed it really is until a few years go by. The only reason I didn't give this boot a 5 is because the leather doesn't "look" like high quality leather, but it certainly feels (and smells) like good leather. The ad pictures show a natural gloss to the leather that is not present when you see them new out of the box. So I took to be shined today as a matter of fact. I have another pair of AE boots, Dalton wingtip dress boots that really looked good out of the box. comparatively speaking. I would definitely rate them a 5 out of 5 AE is now a "go to" brand for me because I wear a 14 wide so I highly suggest this brand.

The boot looks great and is built with quality workmanship, however, I have previously bought this food in a different color and the same size and it fit well.foot. new pair of boots squeezes uncomfortably against my pinkie tow on my right foor.

Beautiful boot inside out. Great material and workmanship as expected from AE. I compared the boot's length and width to another AE Chelsea boot I bought years ago, and this one runs noticeably shorter and narrower. The EEE width is more like a EE. If your feet width is narrow or medium then you can't go wrong. If you are 3E like me then look for an alternative :( I took a star off because I wanted it so bad but it didn't fit me!

In May, 2018 I bought these boots in both Black and Walnut. It took SIX pairs in Black and TWELVE in Walnut (shipping back and forth) until I found one of each that were free of defects. I wear the Black pair 5-6 days a week so long as it's not snow and ice outside. I'm 47yo and never have I owned a pair of shoes that made me feel so good about myself. My current Black pair is so worn now that I plan on having them re-crafted already once the real winter finally gets here. I love them so much I just bought another pair on sale for when they're needed. This time I ordered three pairs and all three were of excellent craftsmanship and were all free of defects (it looks like AE has been reading the past poor reviews). For those who want to avoid the mistakes of those who say their boots don't fit correctly, here's the tip: You need to buy two pairs in your regular shoe length: one in your regular width and one that is one size WIDER. I've been a 10.5 D forever. Do NOT go up one-half in length! These boots run narrow, but for me all it took was going from 10.5 D to 10.5 E. Return the pair that doesn't fit, and you're done. Just don't wear them out of the house until you are sure they fit. Truly American made boots - Thank You Allen Edmonds.....!

.. very particular about quality and money spent. Fourth pair of AEe..4-stars, two reasons-pair rcvd upper leather doesn't match: one thicker, smoother, the other softer and has wrinkled, but in fine way. ..other, I must've received a previous return. Boots were not newly pkgd, just in shoe bags, boxed. Still the best your money can buy.

I like the boot but with a wide foot it's hard to put on. So I did not buy the boot after trying it. Recommend that AE offers an option with side zipper.

This is a beautiful boot and very well crafted. Looks great dressed up or down. The only issue I've had with the shoe is that the right shoe seems a bit more narrow than the left, which can sometimes cause numbness in my right toes. I have a slightly wider toe box while having a narrow foot, but have never ran into this issue with other Allen Edmonds shoes. Overall, I'd recommend this boot with a caveat to try them on in person or possibly sizing up a half size.

So I'll admit - I'm sort of lukewarm when it comes to Chelsea boots in general. I currently own the Knightsbridge and with the detailed wingtip pattern I was sort of reluctant to try the Liverpool as I thought it was too similar. Well, good news is that it wasn't very similar at all. The Liverpool is based on the Cornwallis' 1943 last but called 943B, presumably the "made for boots" version. The cone is higher and more forgiving. The leather is extremely soft and supple but also has an elastic quality that really hugs the shape of your foot. Really comfortable. Straight out of the box, I could imagine these being worn for hours nonstop. The sleek look of the 943B/1943 also adds to the versatility; I could see these being dressed up or down, used in a multitude of situations. So why only 4 out of 5...Totally a matter of opinion I guess. When I think of AE boots, I think of Daltons, First Aves, Sullivans. Built like a tank. Heavy and extremely supportive. These Liverpools are LIGHT. REALLY LIGHT. The combination of the elastic-y soft leather upper and lightweight v-tread made these feel almost feather-weight but with very little support. In addition, I feel like the color choices were kind of lacking. The walnut is nice but gives these somewhat of a casual feel. The black is nice but it just doesn't do these justice. I think the suede is the best option but I'm not a fan of suede due to the high maintenance involved in keeping them up. On top of this, these just seem expensive for what you get. I realize the construction is unique, the seamless design, etc. but it's hard to justify this when you can get a Dalton just the same. Doesn't make a lot of sense. Fit-wise, the 1943 gave people some issues due to the chisel toe causing some problems like pinky toe pain. I think most people would probably be ok with their standard 65-size here due to the soft material and raised cone. I went with 0.5 sizes in length down from brannock, and up 0.5 sizes in width. Worked fine. I really couldn't see doing too much more than that. Overall, I think these are really nice, but definitely not for me. I still recommend these to anyone looking for a sleek Chelsea as they're still probably the best available option out there.

I wear a 9.5 E and have more than 10 pairs of AE shoes. These are slightly more narrow than any of my other pairs. I also feel that for the price, a full leather sole should be provided. This is true for AE shoes in general now unfortunately.

Great boot except difficult to put on for my elderly husband. We thought the elastic on the ankles would help, but not so much. It may be that with time they may get easier. But all and all, they are a beautiful boot.

Nice looking boot. I have many pairs of Allen Edmonds shoes however these are really tight across the top arch. The Size is correct and I do not have high arches. The boots are slow to break in however I will keep wearing them.

Was very excited about purchasing the black Chelsea boots. Fit like a glove, but...I notice a flaw in the Last. There is a large gap in the last on the left boot, inside portion near the leather seam.

I recently purchased this boot in tan, 10.5" in 3E width. It's a handsome, slender design, with a more pointed, European toe than many other American Chelsea boots. The leather feels supple and smooth. After a few wears, I began to notice significant defects in quality. Both heel blocks are wearing harshly, and even becoming cracked and separated from the sole. The rubber sole protectors have shifted. Most disappointingly, the stitching on the uppers became heavily frayed on one boot inside, below the elastic. These are issues that didn't occur until a fewbut only a fewwears outside in fair weather, not out of the box. AE is my go to for high quality leather shoes, but I fear in 2020 and beyond, with all other concerns in decreased quality, I may have to find future alternatives.

The shoe is extremely narrow around the ankles. In fact, they hug them tightly and pressed very hard against my talus. They were so uncomfortable that I couldn't wait to get home to take them off. I've have shoes like this in other brands that aren't like that.

I was waiting to purchase the perfect Chelsea boot for A while. Purchased the Liverpool and to my surprise being that I have more AE shoes, the boot felt very cheaply made. Light. And like not much attention was payed to the over all design and aesthetic of the boot. So disappointed! I bought these through my employer who has a contract with AE and I really wanted to love them. I'm pretty sure these are going back.

Bought AE Chelsea boots a few months ago. With limited wear and being well taken care, the medial arch area of the right boot is coming apart/delaminating. A pair of Joseph Cheaney Chelsea boots bought in the UK about 10 years ago and with similar wear have held up perfectly. I would now be reluctant to buy anymore AE shoes. The soles were not properly made and then poor quality control allowed them to be sold/shipped.

The boots had uneven stitching and the right boots rear half was cut completely uneven. For the money and for first quality, totally unacceptable. Customer service was awesome though. No complaints at all with the people on the phones. Buy Carmina.

After about 3 weeks of wearing the boot, parts of the rubber sole under the toe broke away, and on the other shoe the bottom layer of the rubber sole under the heel has started to separate. Very poor quality in this boot, which is disappointing because I own numerous other Allen Edmonds shoes and they are phenomenal. These seem like they are knock-offs because of the poor workmanship and overall quality.

AE quality is definitely doing downhill. Bought a Liverpool Chelsea 1st and received a worn item with creasing and scuffs.
