I bought this for my son, who is athletic and active. He loves this jacket! He has worn it frequently, including while downhill skiing. I originally bought him a large, however the medium fit him better and he made the exchange easily. The jacket is attractive and comfortable. He is pleased with how versatile it is and how well it works for a variety of activities. The jacket is very well designed.

I'm outdoors all year. This is a great lightweight, warm, and waterproof jacket. Packing this jacket is very easy due to its compact ability. I recommend this for and outdoorsman who likes to stay warm and dry.

Overall, this is one of the best jackets i have ever bought. I was headed off for a short trip to Canada, so I knew I would need a durable and warm winter jacket. After searching through the selections for coats, I decided on the Thermoball TriClimate Jacket and I now wear it almost every day in the winter. When I got to Canada, the weather was -15 degrees with a brutal wind chill and two days of my trip consisted of a heavy snowstorm. Throughout my time in Canada, this jacket did an excellent job blocking the wind and keeping me warm. On the plus side, it is a very stylish jacket and I have received numerous comments from people on how nice the jacket looked. This jacket fits true to size and is very comfortable. If I were to point out one downfall it would be that the inner shell sleeves sometimes unbutton when I take my arms out so I have to fix it, but this may be my fault because sometimes my watch can get hooked and cause this to happen. Nevertheless, I would rate this jacket a 10/10 and recommend it to everyone!

Nice choice to look sharp and be warm. The option of removing the lining makes this jacket satisfyingly versatile. A jacket you will be glad you own.

So convenient as you only need one gear for different climates and different events. Hubby definitely loves it.

I broke the jacket in during the post-Bomb Cyclone deep freeze. The insulated thermoball inside jacket is surprisingly light but kept me warm and comfortable (with just basic tshirt and flannel shirt layers) to explore and photograph in wind chill of -10F conditions.

Stopped to buy gas on my way to the N.Y. boarder with Canada it was -17 without the wind. My old jacket wasn't cutting it. Stopped at Dicks in Watertown N.Y. and told the man there that I wanted the warmest jacket they had. He gave me the Triclimate. Over the next three days I was outside for several hours each day and the jacket kept me very warm. Worth every dollar. That thermo ball liner is surprising light for the amount of warmth it achieves. The outer shell keeps the wind out. Great product. Found it hot when the temp went up to 30 degrees.

Use this for hiking in the northwest. It's worked out wonderfully so far. Husband likes it and no complaints (and he's picky about his coats).

This is really a great coat. I spent a long time looking for a winter coat that will keep me warm in Chicago during the winter. So far, this has been a great buy. I definitely recommend this coat.

The black version of this jacket is blacker than black. It's BLACK. It's like a black hole - not even light seems to escape from it. None of my other TNF gear now seems black in comparison. In review, a great jacket.

Living so close to the "Windy City" I needed a jacket that could not only keep me warm, but dry and comfortable during the harsh winter months. This jacket is not too heavy for how warm it is and still allows flexibility and movement. By far one of the most superior winter jackets out there and the inner shell option is nice for fall weather when it isn't freezing, but not quite warm enough for a sweatshirt. The North Face has outdone themselves with this jacket and I can't wait to take on the cold months ahead for the first time in my life!

Up in Michigan, a warm coat or jacket is very important from October through April, so my wardrobe has traditionally included a heavy "Michelin Man"-bulky coat for the way too many below-zero days, as well as several jackets for use during milder temperature days. But this year, I wanted to obtain a lighter and less bulky coat or jacket that I could use most of the time, for cool days as well as for bone-chilling cold days, so I conducted research and tried on several different jackets, most of them at a local North Face store. The North Face logo is ubiquitous in our college town (Ann Arbor) with mostly young people wearing the popular brand's jackets, and ordinarily, I would shy away from vogue type of attire. Additionally, I never previously considered buying a North Face jacket because those I had seen appeared to be too short and too thin for me. However, I learned from my online research, and from an excellent salesman, about the North Face Thermoball Triclimate jacket. It appears that the Thermoball insulation, a synthetic material, in the North Face Thermoball Triclimate jacket equals or exceeds the warming efficacy of a substantial amount of down filling in other jackets, while not "bulking up" the jacket. After trying on the Thermoball Triclimate jacket, leaving its zip out Thermoball liner zipped-in, I found the jacket to be of a suitable length, impressively light, and most importantly, comfortably warm in the chilly weather we have already had this season. Also, I have received unsolicited compliments on the stylish appearance of the jacket. I am giving away my not-so-old winter coats and jackets, because I am confident that the North Face Thermoball Triclimate jacket will be my one go-to protection against cold weather for years to come.

Jacket is exactly what I wanted. Fits great. Haven't tested the warmth of the jacket in the dead of a North Dakota winter but jacket has been warm enough at 0 degrees.

I have had this coat for almost a year now. I can honestly say this coat has shocked me in many ways! The first time I got my hands on one I thought to my self, "their is absolutely no way this light thing can keep you warm in below freezing temperatures." It proved me wrong, this coat I can wear with just a tshirt underneath and be warm in freezing temperatures. Just recently I used the outer liner only as a rain jacket and it worked perfect! It was pouring out and I had to walk about 10 minutes outside and when I got back inside I was completely dry. I would recommend this coat to anyone!
