As a cinematographer, my hands are constantly in and out of gloves adjusting camera settings in the most extreme weather. It is brilliant to have a oversized puffy pair if mittens to stick your freezing cold hands back in to quickly warm them back up and keep them toasty.

My hands run really cold and finally I have gloves that provide the same warmth as my puffy coat. I really love these things. I wear them by themselves or as super warm liners. I use these for belaying while ice climbing but I put them inside a waterproof shell and my hands are in heaven.

Super warm. Great mitts for winter camping/hiking. They're mittens, so not great dexterity, but Superior warmth. I use them a lot just for hiking and dog walking.

Nice, light, and warm for my walk commute to work in MN. I look forward to bringing these backpacking since they are so light!

These Outdoor Research Down Filled Mitts are for me the first really warm pair of mitts or gloves I have yet to own. The size large are a good fit for my hands, and I do not have any real concerns about durability. I expect to get a lot of use out of these.

I honestly haven't tried these mitts yet, as we haven't had super cold temps in the Northeast yet. We should have a good snowfall coming this week, so I'll have a chance to test them out. I ordered the M for women, have average sized hands and the fit is good, they seem quite warm just wearing them for a few minutes. The only thing one needs to do is pull them on all the way up your arm. There is a pull tab on them for doing this so that your hand fits to the end of the mitt. I think I'll get a lot of good use out of these shoveling snow. If you wear gloves in super cold temps, your fingers freeze, so I'm looking forward to these mitts to eliminate the freeze of the fingers.

These are super warm and fit nicely... Great for under a pair of over mitts. Good for sitting around the camp or sleeping, too warm and not durable enough for everyday use.

these are great for nights in camp when the temps drop below -10 and you need something to keep your hands warm while you cook food and hang out in the tent.

I have the Mt. Baker Modular Mitt, which is awesome and as bomb proof as advertised. I got these as an option for the liner for the Modular Mitt. I coach and stand outside in whatever the weather brings that day. This is for those occasional days that it is beyond cold and the normal lining gloves aren't quite enough. They fit great inside the mitt and otherwise pack small in my bag.

These are my "Oh Sh_t" gloves. Meaning I keep theses gloves packed in my survival kit for unintended helicopter landings in the mountains when I could be there a day or two until the weather clears. Super warm and packable!

Super warm gloves that will be my companion during ice season. Not super durable and questionable waterproof. I'm planning to use a outer layer glove on top of these if I'm doing anything but warming up.

I got the small and it was a bit larger than I wanted, but I kept them because I can layer another glove under these

Very nice and warm mitts. Have been carrying these in my backcountry ski pack for the past few weeks and they've been nice to break out during changeovers on super cold days. Have also dropped a chemical hand warmer in each at the beginning of the day and had pre-warmed gloves right when I needed them. Very slick. Only complaint is that the fabric does let errant feathers through a bit more frequently than I had hoped. Ah well, they'll be toasty for a while yet.

I saw these gloves an immediately loved how puffy and warm they look. The inner hand portion of the mitten is super sticky, so I don't need to worry about dropping anything and the the mitten overall is super warm. I typically wear these casually, whether that's going for a light hike (no poles or playing in the snow) or walking to the grocery store. I have poor circulation in my hands, so it takes a while for any gloves to heat up, but these were extraordinarily fast and retained the heat really well. The only downside is that the down definitely likes to poke out of the glove, so I don't feel comfortable using them for any hard activity for fear that they'll lose their puff.

I use these mittens for general commuting and chilling in the cold weather on ski and winter climbing trips. These mittens are very warm and comfy! The material is not the most durable material, but it suits the purpose. I would not want to wear them in any activities that might cause them to rip. The only reason for the four stars is that the material and the palms turn to be very sticky for some reason. I would like to give them a 4.5 if possible.

The mitten's thumb needs more space for added down to fill. Then the thumb of mitten needs more down added to fill.
The palm of mitten is pretty sticky. That stickiness will have plusses and minuses.

Great mitts, super warm. Only thing is they tend to slide off easily.

Great mittens, super cozy and warm. However, very weird and poor fit. Way bigger than any other kind of mitts so make sure you take a full size down what you would normally wear.

These are great - along with all the products of the Trancendent Line. They fit perfectly under the Alti outer shell mitts.
I love how light and small they can be - in terms of throwing in a running/skiing pack. Often, I'll just have a thin glove while active, but want an emergency layer on my hands for when I stop, or if I got into trouble in the backcountry.
OR - two suggestions: 1) the mitt fit is a little narrow. Maybe this is so it can fit under an outer waterproof mitt. 2) Most of the glove is super warm, but on the outside edge, the stitching compresses, prevents the down from keeping that part of your hand warm. Not a big deal under a outer layer, but if you are using it by yourself you'll dump a lot of heat out the side.

They are definitely warm! But i find the thin liner moves around a lot so does my hand inside the mitt and the thumb is easy to lose when i take the mitts off then its a pain to try to get it back in its spot. Very comfy and stylish. I like them

Great for winter camping when you just need to get warm or crawl into your sleeping bag. They pack down to nothing as well. However, the grip isn't good and I'm worried they will wear soon as it is a thin layer of synthetics over the down filling. Degree rating is accurate.

I bought these gloves as backpack spare for cold days during cold skiing days in mountain. Because the gloves ale very light and packable they do not add bulk or wight to your backpack. The gloves run big. I bought medium ( I always buy medium gloves) but these were way to big. On my first skiing trip I lost one glove so I had to buy another pair, this time small, they fit much better. The gloves are really warm but a bit flimsy with a bad grip so for skiing not the best but acceptable. The gloves don't give impression of being very strong but so far I have not noticed any signs of were and tear , perhaps the are stronger than they look. I would definitely buy them again unless I could find something as light and worm. The reason I rated them with only 4 stairs was the sizing.
