The only hiking boot that was comfortable for me was the women's NB hiking boot in extra wide. I tried these 1300v1 in the same size I wore in the boot, but it was too narrow. I went a size up, hoping it would feel better, but they didn't fit and it didn't work. I am so disappointed that they discontinued the hiking boot and I will have to start from scratch with other brands.

The fit was not as good as other shoes that I have purchased many times in the same size. They were longer and my heal slipped out. A different shoe tying pattern didn't help secure my heal. I was hoping they would fit as they looked like just what I needed for coaching in lousy weather.

I purchased these hikers because New Balance is the only store that sells extra wide. They were too narrow and I got blisters. I am now looking for a better quality hiking shoe but, it is impossible to find an extra wide shoe or boot for hiking right now. So many women need extra wide quality shoes / hikers, why are manufacturers not making them?

Nice looking shoe, bought for work delivering packages. I have narrow feet and high arch. Fits good. There is very little traction on sole. Not good for walking on wet leaves. Not aggressive tread at all. Made my knees hurt, and felt unsteady . May return

these walkers don’t have the support and comfort most Keen shoes have. I was depending on wearing them on a hiking trip, but they were a no-go.

I normally wear a 7 if the shoe comes in EE width, but a 7.5 if the widest is D. There were no 7EE in stock, so I took a chance, based on some reviews indicating it runs short, and ordered 7.5EE, but it was too long. Sadly, could not find any 7EE

I am a size five, double E shoe kind of a person. I'm not talking the "fake, really a size six but labelled size five shoe", but a real, tiny little hoof that is a size five. Most companies don't make shoes that fit me, and I am grateful that sometimes NB does. This shoe however, is NOT a size five. Its waay too big. It fits like a size six. I really, really, really want to wear these shoes because they are waterproof and groovy looking and I love to hike in a way that ordering kids shoes just won't work. As this is the smallest size they offer, I can't just replace it with the next size down. Please NB make me a hiking shoe!!

The shoes fit fine in the front where one's toes and sole sit, but the shoe is not designed to hold the heel snuggly in place. Also the tongue of the shoe is shorter than New Balance shoes purchased in athletic stores. This is probably because the NB purchased on line are made in Vietnam and those from athletic stores are made and put together in the United States. I am surprised that NB would allow an inferior quality be made when their quality has always been excellent. That is a shame. Maybe the Pandemic caused the online variety to be a lesser quality as the athletic stores were losing business because clients stayed away from shopping to remain healthy and not get the Covid. I have worn my shoes and cannot return them.

I have bought 4 pairs of this style. I LOVE them. I have neuropathy in my feet and they accommodate my inserts just fine. They are comfortable and waterproof but they also breathe. I LOVE the color, I love the style because they are muted. Each pair I've had has worn out at the top of the back, inside lining and the stitching has ripped out on the sides. The leather (?) doesn't seem to be very good quality. I will probably buy another pair because I like them that much. I just wish they'd improve the quality. I wear them every single day. My last pair only lasted 6 months. My first 2 pairs lasted a year.

The shoe is well made and seems it could easily worn without a breaking in period. Not fond of the color. It is more blue than grey. I have worn new balance for at least 20 years. I wear the 860 running shoe and have worn the gortex trail shoe 966 and the water proof trail boot 976 until the stopped making them. Unfortunately the replacement for both are shorter and no longer supply adequate arch support even with my orthopedic inserts. As a result, I must return both the 1400 and the 1300. Pleas bring back the 966 and 976. A disappointed and sad customer.

But do they fit? These a good solid shoes, what we need for winters up here in Maine, but I'm still not sure if I need a half size larger. Is there even a 10 1/2 in women's shoes? My feet are Marrow and finding a good fit is very hard.

It's a nice shoe with room to move my toes. The inside bottom pad needs to be more pad. There hard. I wore them indoors cooking Christmas dinner as to not get them dirty in case they needed to be returned. They do not provide enough padding so my feet and lower back began hurting after a while.

I like these shoes a lot however they have a technical problem, which is that the leather shrank a bit on one shoe, after the shoes got wet on a muddy trail, making uncomfortable lumps in the toe box. I'm hoping that I can stretch them out again and still wear them. This shouldn't be a problem with a shoe that is supposed to be waterproof.

This is the 3rd time I'm buying this shoes, so clearly I love these shoes. My perfect winter shoes. I usually wear size 9.5 and to my surprise the new pair is too loose in the heel / ankle. My previous shoes of this style are still around and they fit me perfectly. I worry about replacing it with a size 9 that it may be too tight.

Normally when I buy a size 8-1/2 in a Nike it fits very well. But for some reason the right shoe felt too big and loose and my toe did not hit the end. But the left one hit the end and felt tight.

I just bought my 3rd pair in about 6 years, and these shoes have been getting narrower. For my first pair, I bought a D width, and they were perfect. (I have wide toes and a narrow heel.) My second pair, I bought a D width, and they were narrower than the first pair. I was still able to keep them, but I had to wear thinner socks. I walk my dog for over an hour in these shoes in the winter, and my feet constantly got cold in the thinner socks. For my 3rd pair, I bought a 2E thinking that I would be able to wear heavy socks, but that isn't going to work: the toe box in the 2E is narrower than my previous D width (I held them up against each other). So I still need to wear the thinner socks even with the 2E width. If NB makes these any narrower in the toe box, they will not work for me at all.

I am buying another pair of these because I really like them and they are comfortable. They have a big problem though. I had to repeatedly glue the soles back on to the uppers. They fell apart rather quickly and I had to reglue them more than once.

They are too bulky. Maybe for a big person they will look nice, but I am 5'2" with skinny legs; the shoes look too bulky on me. They are very nice and sturdy.
