I've had multiple foot surgeries and need great support and a rigid sole. And I've been a very happy New Balance wearer for many years, up until last year. I love everything about this shoe except that the toe box is now entirely too wide and cannot be tied tight enough to fit. I'm so disappointed that they do not offer a narrow fit.

I have had 4 previous shoes in this family of shoe. These are the fist ones that seem short and narrow. I can normally order my size online with no hesitation. Sadly these are the first to not fit and will be returning them. They seem like a well made shoe otherwise.

Although the shoe seems like it will be long lasting it feels almost too solid for comfortable walking.

The right shoe must have been mislabeled. Could not get my foot into the shoe. The left shoe fit exactly how New Balance shoes fit on my WW feet.

I returned these because they are too narrow in the toe box despite being a wide width. NB has changed the shape of their shoes and they no longer fit my wide foot. They taper too much in the toe and my feet much squarer. I ordered two different paurs of hiking shoes and returned both of them.

Bought a size 11 extra wide. Had to return. Shoes were too stiff and not wide enough. Got blisters on both toes first time out. Interesting because usually New Balance extra wide usually fits the first time.

Not as good. Do you shoes do not run true to size as the other new balance that I had did. They were too big and when I walked they hurt my heel. The ones I really wanted they are not making anymore apparently. I want to send these back and get my money refunded or get a different pair but I had to wear them out to find out how they work and I'm afraid because of that they will not take them back

I loved the support however started to come apart at the top on both shoes. Same spot so I think there is a design flaw. Not sure how long these will last. This was after 1 week and 1 4 mile hiking trip.

Uncomfortable. No give where I need it and too much give where I don't. Worst of all, falling apart after two weeks of wear! Never ever had this problem with new balance shoes.

The shoes appear to be made well. But when I put them on, my weight was shifted to the inside of my feet and tilted my knees at an uncomfortable angle. Although I was really looking forward to having warm walking shoes for winter hiking in our cold weather state, I knew my knees would be irritated and possibly injured by the weird way the shoes positioned my legs. I returned them via UPS and am waiting for confirmation that they have been received and the purchase price refunded.

I had to return the shoes because they ran a little big which was ok to wear heavy socks with but they felt heavy and cumbersome. I miss the older New balance style that I wore for many years.

These shoes were short and narrow in the toe box. They were very stiff and uncomfortable.
I sent them back. I have been wearing New Balance shoes for about 30 years. These were the least comfortable pair I ever tried.

These hikers are cute, unfortunately they did not provide me the the support my flat feet need. The shoes tended to make my feet pronate ( roll to the inside), even with my custom orthotics. I had to return them.

Great shoe, incorrectly sized. I was so happy when I tracked a second pair of these down in my size, or so I thought. My old pair are shorter and wider, just like my feet! It seems to me that instead of making a nine EE, they put that label on a 9 1/2 E.

These are really cute & I really wanted them to work despite previous reviews about the heel issues. I could not get the heel to fit snugly and ended up returning these.

I was so looking forward to these shoes but the fit wasn't right. My left foot kept slipping up no matter how the shoe was laced.

I have the same shoes in a 7.5 regular and ordered them in 7.5 WIDE. The wide pair were not any wider.

I've bought 3 or 4 pairs of these same shoes. I loved them, they are sturdy, durable, just what I needed for stability after breaking my knees years ago. But the last pair I bought, since day one, everytime I walk on a slightly wet floor I immediately fall! I've been badly hurt so many times. I'm still wearing them because they are great but I'm so cautious on any floor and still fall. I really need a new pair & was always willing to pay the price for these. But since they are so unsafe & it was only this pair. I haven't ordered any more shoes from New Balance and not sure I ever will again. I own 6 or more other styles with rollbar, I've spent alot of money with New Balance in the last 15 years since breaking my knees. The other shoes I bought here don't have the slip & fall problem but also don't have the same stability. I'm so upset after this shoe being my only shoe since they first came out with this style. Now I'm searching for another company & another shoe. So upset!!!

I ordered the correct size on line after trying a larger size in a store. These seemed really stiff and were too wide for my narrow feet - totally slipped in the heel. I was happy with the free shipping and free return. They looked nice and I like the color.

Even though I ordered and got 2E (double wide), the toe box was still too tight. I returned them.

This looks like it is supposed to be a replacement for the 1069, which was a great shoe for my problem feet.
Other than the color, which is lovely, although it it is BLUE, not grey, this shoe is entirely disappointing. Holding the two side by side, this shoe is visibly and measurably shorter and narrower than the 1069 in the same size. With the shoe on, it has a much shallower feel to it in the heel--it feels like I am going to walk out of it. Because of the weird thing going on with the heel, there is no room for an orthotic without removing the insole. Unfortunately, my orthotic is not a full length one so that is a no go.
As an aside, I cannot tell you how much I miss the days when New Balance provided information about the particular last that was used for each shoe. In stepping back from doing that, the company is either a) doing a disservice to people with feet that do better with certain lasts or b) admitting that their "total fit" feature (that they used to hang their hat on) was just a marketing ploy. Neither of these speaks well of New Balance as a company.
