I use this backpack to carry my laptop and books for grad school, and it's been great. The color is cute, I can put all my pins and decorative stuff on it and it looks and feels like a quality backpack.
I have only one complaint: I only wish the internal laptop sleeve was more rigid. Yes, it's padded, but only on the outside of the backpack (where your back goes) and almost all backpacks are padded/reinforced there so they don't flop around. The inside of the sleeve is just fabric and no padding or even a more-rigid fabric. That said, this is a relatively small complaint, and also I may just be a little bit neurotic about laptop safety. This is a really great backpack for the price and I do love it.

I carry lots of food and a change of clothes to work and the bag can fit all that and still look cool. Only con is that the clip broke within 2 weeks of use. They will cover the repair of the clip free of charge which is great but will take a few weeks to send a new clip. A bit too long of a wait.

I love this backpack. It fits an incredible amount of stuff and it looks great. The only downside is that my clip broke after 4 weeks. All I do is bike from home to the office, and I don't do any exciting sports, so I'm not even that sure how/when/why it broke so quickly. I'm a bit heartbroken because I really love this bag.

It's a great product overall (I like the material, the small inner pockets and the easy access to the main bag contents,... except for 2 comments: (1) The buckle needs to be of a better quality. I don't know if it will last with many uses and it does feel flimsy/easily breakable. (2) My bag came delivered to me with 3 spot-stains caused by some kind of glue/sticky stuff. I would have returned it for exchange but it was too much trouble since I live outside of the USA.

Nice bag overall, I wouldn't recommend it for carrying a whole lot, since it doesn't distribute the weight all that well. But it works well for school.

I use this pack day in and day out. I'm a high school teacher and it holds my daily necessities nicely. It's great on my motorcycle and the roll top lets me fit tons in it. I like the small pop of neon green and red on the zippers, and the back access is a nice touch. Will definitely buy again from timbuk2, as I'm very satisfied!

I really like this bag. As I'm required to say, I received it for free as part of an influencer program. But I would purchase it again. It's a really nice happy medium between a small canvas knapsack that's getting worn out and doesn't fit a lot and my huge, super-structured school backpack. The Tuck Pack is a good size; it fits a lot, and it's already pretty lightweight, so you can carry a lot without much added weight. Whether or not you pick this up kind of depends on what you plan on using it for - for my longest days on campus, I want something with a little more structure, organization, and back support, but when I'm running errands, headed home for the weekend, or going somewhere casual, this is just about perfect! The only thing extra I might ask for is a bit more of a structured back.

Overall this purchase was superb and the item was delivered relatively fast. However I would comment on the top part of the bag, the folding part where it will clipped to the bag's clip. Should put in a velcro or something to ensure it don't roll off and thus can have even distribution of weight to the bag. Thus reducing stress on that clip that is covering the bag and supporting the weight within the bag.

Needed to replace a 10 year old messenger bag, for commuting, work meetings, carry-on, and the odd weekend trip. This bag fits my 15" laptop, but is a bit tight to get out of the side zip (I knew this when I bought, and it would better for a 13"). Cheap, minimal, stylish bag for my work stuff, laptop and lunch. Could easily also fit a hoodie, sweater or rain jacket if needed. The front zipper pocket could use an internal key loop. Bag is awesome for short commutes or a day bag out in the city/beach. I would buy again.

Well made. Colors are accurate to choice. Very limited internal pockets for small or secure items. Don't like that there is no external zipper pocket like the stock versionbut could be made up for if they had better internal compartments and zip pockets. Very limited versatility.
One downfall of tuck backpack is it's so deep that the backpack is very dark inside always hard to see insidejust by nature of the item. Not sure about price to utility value.

I love the colors I picked, it looks fantastic, but it lacks pockets inside the bag, all my personal stuff needs to be packed in another pouch and all goes to the bottom where I can't reach them. Also, although it has a zipper in the back to only take out the laptop, it's difficult to do it for a 15" size. At the end I think it will work perfect for a trip but for daily use I am not sure.

My boyfriend has had a Timbuk2 rolltop for 5+ years and I've always been envious. I finally ordered one and am a little bummed. The fabric is thin and the straps are much cheaper feeling than his backpack. I wanted something more heavy duty and this backpack just isn't that. It's still pretty, but I'm going to return.

I use this bag to carry my daily items, my lunch, a book to read at work and my gym clothes on mornings I workout. The size and shape make it possible to care everything in one bag instead of two. I am very pleased with this, it is a great bag in this regard.
Unfortunately the material is not holding up. After three months of use it is showing small tears in the fabric.

I loved my prior tuck backpack which finally broke after many years. I was excited for the custom design options, however was very disappointed that the front zipper pocket is not included on the custom design.

I was in the market for a new work backpack, specifically one that had a protective sleeve for my laptop. I came across this company via a google search.
Pros: CUSTOMIZABLE colors (which is what ultimately sold me); seems well-built; has options for weatherproofing in materials
Cons: shoulder straps are NOT well-padded; side cup holders are pretty shallow and offer no elastic for various water bottle sizes (unlike many of the other backpacks I was considering); no padding in computer sleeve; computer sleeve goes all the way to the bottom of the bag (unlike many other companies which offer a buffer at the bottom so when you set your bag down your computer doesn't directly hit the floor); no front zipper pouch (for cell phone, etc) or ANY zipper pouch; since it was customized to my color choices, it's not returnable
Overall, I would not purchase again or necessarily recommend this backpack, unless you are just looking for aesthetic appeal or to transport very light items.

This bag is okay. A bit unstructured (it doesn't stand up empty) and the front pockets aren't super helpful or where you'd think they'd be. Lightweight and good quality which is good, but not my favorite.

I love the material and it's very durable. The space inside is great. However, I designed a custom bag and the colors are not as vibrant as they look online. Also, if you place a custom order be prepared to wait about a month to receive your bag. After the long wait, once I saw the colors I was not happy with my custom order.

Love my Color Combo that I chose. However the one flaw has to do with the roll top section. I am not sure if It will make sense to everyone, but the stitching on the female side goes too far to the top, so when you roll it to buckle depending on the fabric you choose, it wants to "Unroll itself" while buckled. I had Under Armor Bag and once you rolled it and bucked it held its shape because of the placement of where the buckle straps were stitched (at the seams and no where else) not strapped going up to the top of the bag. So now I have had to use a little velcro underneath once its rolled so it wont unroll when buckled. Otherwise I am happy. Hopefully they will see this comment and make the necessary minor adjustments

I use this to bring my laptop around.
I have a big laptop (15") and it fits well.
What's not so great is that the roll down top doesn't "stay put". I can only fold twice and the fabric is soft (which I like) but it prevents the top from keeping its structure. Also, unless the bag is super full, the shape is a bit distorted. Again because of the soft fabric.
I've had a lot of timbuk2 bags over the years. I think the difference is that most of my other bags have had a waterproof lining on the inside which makes the bag much stiffer. I had a custom bag made which has the lining on the inside recently, but it was too small for my laptop.
I didn't know how different the bags could be! But now I do. So I'm mostly disappointed about the roll top not staying in place / keeping its shape. I wish all the bags have the waterproof lining on the inside, but I should have asked about that before ordering.

Hi, this is my 2nd bag that I bought from TIMBUK2. The previous one was very similar and I looked for a renewal. The self design element is great but unfortunately I doscovered that instesd of 3 inside divisions/pockets that I use to have - now ther are only two, which makes the use of the bag much less comfortable

This is my second Timbuk2 bag; the first was a grey Commander messenger bag which I bought in 2017 and used almost every day. Overall, in comparison, I'm a little disappointed in this pack. I bought this for a daily commuter pack, so I usually need to carry a 14" laptop, some pens, paperwork, lunch, and maybe my gym kit. The look is cool, for sure, but it's much more minimalist than I was expecting. The laptop pocket isn't padded, so I needed to buy a sleeve. There are some pen pockets inside, but nothing that keeps my wallet, phone, charger, and other daily carry items organized, so I've started carrying a small handbag, a clutch, and lunchbox inside the backpack to keep things easy to find. And the handle is just a strap, not padded like my old messenger bag had, so it doesn't feel as comfortable to carry in my hand.
It works pretty well after adding an organization system, but I'm not in love the way I wished I would be.

I got this bag to replace a stolen Swig bag with flap (i miss it). So it may be unfair comparing it to this because im spoiled by the many pockets it had. Pockets wise, wish the hidden zipper storage was a bit bigger. I miss the chest straps to keep the bag snug on me when im riding my bike. i havent gotten used to how flimsy the bag is overall. I am a fan of bags that can stand on their own. I dont know if theres a way to address the material from getting caught up on the zippers. Happened once and im worried it'll happen again.
Ive used this thing to haul dog food with some groceries on my bike. the roll top definitely provides extra space which i appreciate and i dont think the Swig could've accommodated.
the bag is holding on and it's doing it's job and got it because it's marketed as using recycled materials.

The materials of the bag are sturdy, the construction is well-made, and the bag is fairly comfortable to wear. The internal organization could stand some improvement. I dislike that there is not a secure phone pocket with easy access. An all-black interior means that it can be a challenge to see and find things. There are few internal pockets and at least one of them is too small to be very useful to me.

I'm sad about this one. The original Tuck bag was a favorite of mine. I had an older version which I loved into the ground and just repurchased what, I thought, would be a nearly identical replacement. Sadly, the Tuck appears to have been redesigned in ways that aren't great.
Overall, it's the same dimensions that I love. I want a big open bag that can hold a large laptop. I want a solid black bag that's water resistant and work appropriate. However, the fabric used to be lined and the laptop sleeve was padded. Now everything is a flimsy single-layer of nylon.
The pocket situation for the Tuck was always kinda meh. The only inside pockets weren't secure and things constantly fell out of them. But at least they were there! The new one has no pockets on the inside at all. Not even a place for a pen! The old Tuck had a handy little side pocket on the backside. It made grabbing keys or chapstick really easy. That pocket is now gone. Instead, there are two big pockets on the front. They are so flimsy the pens/pencils I put into them poke through the nylon fabric. I'm definitely going to need to buy some sort of bag insert to make this work.
I also have a really hard time believing this is going to be sufficiently water resistant. It's so flimsy and thin.
I wouldn't feel great about commuter biking with this regularly either. If you fall, I think it would be very likely to take out the Nylon or rip a seam. Also, the bag isn't doing anything to protect your laptop.
It's still got great dimensions. I still love having a big roll-down bag like this. I just wish the fabric was sturdier and there was a better pocket situation. I don't think this will last anywhere near as long as my previous one did and I wouldn't repurchase it again.
I've been using Timbuk2 bags for 20+ years. I've never been disappointed by the quality of their products, but this one is a major disappointment.

I've had this bag for a few years, only using it when I travel (not much in the last few years). The clip broke pretty early on. Re-read the reviews on the MEC site and it seems to be an issue.
Sure, there is a warranty, but note that you are responsible to pay for the shipping to have it repaired.
I ended up buying a few replacement clips as I expected it will happen again. You also have to remove the stitching and re-stitch change it.
So ya, great bag, lousy clips.
