I use this backpack for my daily commute to work - laptop, lunch, etc. I think it works great and looks great, but the straps would be a little more padded.

I bought this as a compromise between a diaper bag and a purse and is been working out great. I'm outside a lot so I really appreciated the water resistant and waterproof fabric selections.

My buddy got this bag in the Blue/Navy and I borrowed it for a 24 hour work trip. It had GREAT space and perfect for an overnight-no-fuss trip. So I got one for me- in this teal...I wanted something a little girlier than the Blue...was disappointed when it came- the color is more of a green...pretty neat color, but def not girly. Still, it is super functional, great quality and perfect for laptop, passport...all the things.

Overall great bag because of its simplicity. I used it as my office backpack.
PROS
*FAT front pocket zipper. It pulls like butter! So smooth and easy. Probably my favorite feature. The vertical nature of the pocket is great too making it easy to sling the pack off one shoulder for a quick grab without having to take off the entire pack.
*Vertical zipper access to laptop compartment is a super quick way to access your laptop without having to unbuckle, unroll, then roll, and reclip. This feature is very handy when going through airport security and your bag is packed out.
*It doubles well as a travel pack. The rolltop l feature provides extra liters of space when you need to add a lot of gear but can be converted to a small profile when lightly packed or empty. It packs out long and narrow, not fat and wide. Fits well under an airplane seat.
*No Velcro on this bag! Don't have to worry about bothering office mates or coworkers on work bus with loud tearing sounds.
*Single clip to access the main compartment allows for one action with one hand. No need to unclick 2 clips.
*Nice aesthetic that works in the office and on the street.
CONS
*As I read in a few reviews, the main clip broke about 6 months after purchase. It was used as an office bag and didn't get much wear and tear. It definitely felt more flimsy than other clips I used. I ended up replacing it with a
*I stopped using the organizational slots against the laptop sleeve because the weight of the items made the sleeve sag and hard to access so I started using a tech pouch instead.
*After about 3yrs of owning this bag, the laptop zipper jammed at the base. I think the continual hard tugging has caused the zipper to tear from the cloth so now base of the side laptop zipper area is busted and won't close.
VERDICT
For how little it costs and if you're ok replacing the buckle when it gives out, it's totally worth it. It's been a great, versatile companion for the last three years.

The backpack looks simple and stylish. Very nice built. Got enough space for everything I need to put it. Wish there are more the compartments inside for better organization though. The secret pocket seems to be much smaller than usual on other Timbuk2 backpack however. The

This is a stylish bag that has quite a bit of room. It's a roll top so I was nervous there would be loss of peripheral clarity when checking blindspots while skating/biking, but it seems to stay out of my line of sight quite well. As a student this bag seems to have enough space for a laptop and some books with added room at the top for snacks or other items. However, the straps are pretty thin and not so well padded it seems. They are not uncomfortable, but I have not used this bag with school books yet. Reqlly like the construction. Hoping it lasts for years!

Great if you need a big black hole of a bag to stuff things into (or if you have lots of little bags to put inside...). Not enough pockets inside, but the vertical zipper on the front is super functional. I can't fit my water bottle into the side pockets when the bag is stuffed, which is too bad. Otherwise it's very lightweight, super comfy to wear, and the expandable roll-down top is really great for packing a big day out.

Been using it for a week.
The sewing seems to be well done and very spacious, loving it. I like the slim profile and rugged nature too.
The zip at the back makes life much easier to retrieve some stuff from the pouches, documents or a tablet.
It would be perfect if not for these two things:
1) The back straps should have padding (there's pretty much none), would really help in carrying heavy loads.
2) Would be nice if I have more pockets and/or deeper ones than those that came with it.
Perhaps in the future, could you give us opinions to pick our straps too? Some options for the pockets would be great as well.
I have heard of many complaints about the buckle breaking, but I haven't it happened to me yet (fingers crossed).
Looking forward for this bag to be with me for years :)

i love everything about this bag (i use it every day to commute to/from work and when going on short trips-- it fits my laptop and all essential personal items and protects everything from rain!) however my only complaint is that the material it's made from scratches easily. within the first week of purchase, i got a number of marks on it that don't remove when washed, so the bag looks like it's been through a rugged trip even though i have only used it for commuting. i wish the material were more durable in that sense, since the marks are fairly visible and permanent.

I love this bag. Gave me the most bang for my buck. Holds a lot since I tend to carry a lot (even for a quick date). I intend to use this bag for all my short-term travel purposes. Weekend trips, overnights with friends/partners, long day trips to different cities--you name it! I just wish the side pockets gave a lil more room for my water bottle. And I actually turned two of the inner pockets into one larger pocket with my seam ripper. Now that larger pocket holds my various charging cords. I don't really need individual pockets for pencils or pens. I have my own pencil case for that. I LOVE that it has that large zipper pocket on the body panel! The only downside to getting a custom version is they don't give you that zipper pocket. Major oversight. Otherwise, I would've also bought a custom bag with my fave color combos!

I really LOVE this bag! I put everything in it (lunch, gym clothes, work stuff and my laptop) and it looks cool! Only thing is I wish the side pockets were stretchable so it can fit different sized water bottles.

This bag, like everything else I've purchased from Timbuk2, is very well-made. The straps are comfortable. I haven't had the same issues previous reviewers have with the top strap not being long enough to go over a full pack. Mine will just make it over the top fully unrolled. The pack is waterproof, and carries my laptop comfortably.
My biggest issue with this bag is the organization. The front zippered compartment is really the only separation from the deep dark bucket of the main compartment. The pen organization mentioned in the description does not work well, as it's attached to the side with the laptop sleeve, and is very flimsy. One of the pockets is too small for me to get my hand into to reach the bottom. I've taken to carrying a smaller zippered pouch inside my backpack for small items (gum, lipstick, etc), so they don't end up lost on the bottom of the bag and smooshed. If the bag is full, it's nearly impossible to find anything.
The addition of one more large zippered compartment in the front of the bag, or a zippered pouch like in the messenger bags, would make all the difference.

Timbuk2 please there are few things that would improve this backpack:
1/ make the inside lining light in color - yes, it might get dirty a little bit, but you will see things inside much better ( the unrolled sleeve makes the bottom more than 24in deep inside)
2/ move the stitching of the rolltop strap on the sleeve approx 1 inch up the strap so it let the sleeve roll approx twice, now it is hard to keep the sleeve rolled due to short loose part of the srtap - now you can more or less just "fold" it once instead of rolling it
3/ the side pockets (pickpockets must love them) could have a little hole at the bottom to let any rain water come out
4/ it is pitty the custom variant does not come with the extra zipper pocket
bottom line - the reflective fabric (custom) looks just great!!

It's a great bag throughout. Roomy, lightweight, minimal profile. The side zip pocket that allows access to the laptop compartment is brilliant, especially with a packed bag. I only wish the interior liner wasn't black, as it makes it difficult to see things. The major interior pocket edges are piped with neon edging, and this is helpful for defining the spaces, but overall, I wish the interior was a color other than black.

The top strap isn't long enough if there is something tall in the pack. The strap should at least be long enough after adjustment to secure items that fit inside the pack. So far, customer service has not been able to accommodate me in obtaining a strap extension. :-(

The purpose of my purchase was for travelling, so when I got my order, I wanted to test it out by bringing it to work on a daily basis, which actually made my load in general lighter, though a little hard to reach my items inside the bag probably due to the lack of compartments. When my trip to the mountains in Indonesia happened, it served me well, it didn't wear me down and it held my items well. Plus, its hardy & waterproof!

I love this bag except for the top doesn't seal as well as it looks in the picture. I could be doing it wrong but it doesn't roll up like shown and there is no seal inside like a zipper or anything.

Love this pack, as I was looking for something that I could put gym stuff, books, etc. I live in the City, so a good commuter bag was necessary. The bag works well for that and you can stuff a fair amount, it can be a weekend bag in the summer for sure, but the capacity is a bit deceiving. One thing I'll note is that when you have two water bottles in, that actually take space away on the inside - Timbuk2 did not provide additional cloth to counter that, so it can be a bit tighter. The zippers are durable and the back zipper is especially convenient to access books, laptop, etc. whatever you really are putting back there.

Love the customization - especially that weird reflective black stuff that shines brighter than a supernova in the dark! Two things - a couple more pockets would be good and/or velcro or zips so that the outside pockets are closable. Wish I'd gone for the red locking strap now for extra swag value but I'll remember next time. I can't help thinking the shoulder straps could be a little wider (including the attachment points). Anyway, minor gripes and all in all I love it and suspect it's the coolest customized Timbuk2 bag in all of York.

Great pack for stuffing and non-technical adventures. Wish there were more zippered pockets inside and that you could specify a color other than black for the interior to make it not feel like a black hole! ALSO, what would be great is to have atleast ONE side pocket be mesh (or both) as an elasticized waterbottle pocket would hold a bottle in more securely. One inside would be great! Just took it across country as my travel bag and it worked great. Love that I could customize and make it unique.

When I saw the waxed camo version of the Tuck Pack, I fell in love immediately. The gorgeous woodland-style camo, coupled with the voluminous Tuck design, was a match made in heaven. I was recently able to hold an entire weekend's worth of items + tech for a trip, no sweat!
The only complaint I'd have is that the waxed camo version lacks the front zip pocket, which makes the pack too much of a big tube to be perfectly useful. Putting in my own organizers and dividers makes the bag a little awkward to dig through -- even though everything fits inside, still. Skews the usage towards holding fewer, larger items, as opposed to lots of smaller things.

Review for Zappos VIP Points(What's this?)
The bag overall is a great size and is very roomy. The top could have 1 inch or 1.5 inches more material so when folded and closed it would keep a tighter fit. The front/ size zipper pockets are easy to open/ close and the side zipper laptop access pocket it clutch. The straps are not super plush but are padded and so far have been supportive on heavier loads. Overall a simple yet roomy bag that is well worth the price.

I got this to use as a good to-go bag and while it's good for the most part, the zipper on the back could use some work mainly because it doesn't have a protector for the zipper to help keep the rain out. I also feel the pouches on the inside could hold just a bit more. Other than these minor things the bag is up to typical Timbuktu standards which I consider military standard or better. The straps could use padding or bulk to make them feel more significant.
