Love the fabric; it's not shiny like most puffer coats.

Stylish, yet warm.

This is the perfect winter parka; not too heavy that it makes you sweat, but still very warm for its light weight. Love the heather grey color, I am usually a medium because I am 5'10 but slim build. I went with a small and have plenty of room and the sleeves fit perfectly. Not to say this runs big, I think it would still fit a traditionally small person as well.

I bought this coat for a trip to Canada. We spent two days walking around in 0 degree weather. The Coat kept me warm and looked great. I am very pleased with this purchase.

I'm 5'7" and 130 lbs. the medium is perfect. I love how comfortable the coat is. Other mediums feel a little big w nf, I read reviews for this fitting a little smaller, which was perfect for me. I can still wear a sweater and have room to move. I like the tapering, feels feminine.

This coat is quite comfy and surprisingly warm for how light it is.

Although I was initially looking for a shorter coat, I am so glad I tried this one! I love this coat, which is lightweight and comfortable, but very warm even on cold, windy days. The zipper is smooth, and because it works both ways, you can unzip from the bottom for comfort while driving. The hood actually looks nice, and the sleeves are plenty long for my long arms. I sized up for comfort in my shoulders/arms, so the waist is a bit bigger than I'd prefer, but the style still looks good. When I look again for a shorter coat, I will definitely consider more North Face styles.

I relocated from the snow belt 20 years ago. Maybe once or twice a year, the weather gets cold enough here (NC) that a parka is necessary. Business travel to Denver prompted my purchasing the Metropolis II. I was torn between this model and the Miss Metro. In the end, I opted for the Metropolis II. Initially, I was on the fence due to some of the consistent issues noted by other reviewers. Here is my experience thus far: Fit: I did try the parka on in person to make sure the fit was good before ordering online (I wanted a color not offered in store *and* a sale price). As usual, the medium fits perfectly. I'm a 34DDD and had no issues in the chest area, even with a heavy cardigan on. The length is below my knees (I'm 63" tall) which is what I wanted. The sleeves are perfect, as is the hood. Feathers: There is some loss of feathers but nothing I would consider significant. I have had other down products molt a bit. After two days of solid use, the molting has decreased. Zipper: The zipper functionality is also fine. I'm not having any issues with it at all. Maybe this is an issue of quality control North Face needs to investigate further? Warmth: As for the most important part, warmth, no issues with that, either. I didn't feel the chill slice through the coat. I didn't feel as if I was going to overheat if I was moving around (dragging luggage around outside). For me, it's been a good purchase. The color (urban navy) is quite nice. The cut and design of the parka is flattering. I don't feel as if I look like a sleeping bag with arms and legs, nor do I feel like I'm wearing the dreaded granny coat. It's light enough that traveling with it isn't a pain in the rear and it also made an excellent throw on a chilly airplane. I think it's worth the investment.

Love this coat. Needed a long coat for the winter and it was perfect. I'm 5'9" so the length comes right about the knee which is great for windy days. Ordered it in green and it's a little darker than pictured but still a great color.

I wanted to gift my mom a winter jacket. She's the pickiest person in the world, and she has very high expectations. She tried dozens of jacket and she finally decided on this one in Quail Grey. She needed the jacket to be extra durable and very lightweight as well as very warm as she is always cold! It was hard to shop with her. The search was torturous but so glad she found everything she was looking for in This jacket. She gets a ton of compliments from everyone including strangers and they all want to get one as well. The only con she had was it was too long she's 5 feet tall so The length hits her mid calf, but I had a solution for her to zip up on the zipper so it's more comfortable to move in. Overall she is very happy and loves this jacket than her daughter lol. Oh and I might add with this jacket u don't need heavy sweaters or lots of layers under, with just a thin top the jacket will still keep u warm and toasty! A must have!

Love this jacket! Runs true to size fits great and is so comfortable! I love it. Perfect weight so you don't feel like you are stuffed in an uncomfortable puffy jacket.

I love this coat. I owned 3 of these coats before this purchase. I purchased the olive green (which is a great color) in a size large. I am 5'5", 135 lbs. I do not like my coats tight & need to be able to wear layers underneath. I love that this coat is not heavy & is very comfortable. I definitely will purchase another color.

I need a breathable coat to wear in the cold Minneapolis winters for my commute. This coat is perfect. I'm comfortable on the bus and can still move in it. Also, waiting outside when it's 0 degrees, I'm very toasty!

I've been looking at this coat for second winter season, and finally purchased it. I have this same coat for many years, and needed an a update for my older white Metropolis. This model is actually nice neutral warm/grayish white and not an 'optic' white. I find it overall lighter than my previous Metropolis and with more of a trim fit than the model from about 6 years ago, and equally as comfortable. XS fit is very fine for me - I am 5'4", 110 lbs. with room for a mid-weight sweater. Length for me is just above knee. I would recommend size up if you are my size and you want to wear a bulky I do appreciate that the finish sheds water - not 'waterproof' - but light moisture will not seep thru to make you uncomfortable. very good value for the money. Design wise - my only wish is that North Face would have covered the zipper with a placket to make it a little less of a sporty looking coat, but not enough to change my overall opinion for this garment.

Love this coat! I am 5'9" so it's hard to find coats that fit right. Length is perfect and the sleeve length is perfect too. I did have to size up to get the right fit though. Very warm too!

Bought this for my mom since she has outside recess in the winter. So far so good!!

I live in Minnesota, where we have brutal winters and this parka holds up to it all!!!! I doesnt let any of the cold weather in, i also bought it with a pair of their mittens which we also AMAZING. this is the second parka I have bought from North face and i will never buy one anywhere else!!!! Totally worth the price!!!!!

Great coat and warm too! Just the right amount of room in the arms that it's not too tight when moving around getting the kids ready.

Just tested it out today in single digit weather and I stayed warm. I was impressed with how lightweight it was compared to other parkas which weigh me down. I love this coat. I'm 5'3" usually a size 4-6 and I bought the small.

My daughter loves the brand. This one was thicker, as far as material, than similar jackets in this style. She's 17, and the extra small fit perfectly. We continue to buy because of the guarantee.
