My very active 8 year old son has wide feet, and is still learning to tie his shoes. One of his friends got new red shoes and he wanted the same ones, but they weren't available in his size. He picked these instead and he loves them. I love that New Balance has the larger big kids sizes (like 7W) available with velcro for kids like my son who struggle with lace up shoes.

These are well made and durable. New Balance has always been my favorite brand of athletic shoes for my boys and this shoe did not disappoint. And Zappos shipping cannot be beat!

Bought these for my very active 6.5 year old son. He loves these and says they are very comfortable. So far they have lasted very well and still look good despite the hard day to day beating they get!

My son loves these shoes. He says he runs really fast in them. They’ve held up well and are easy for a 4-year-old to get on by himself.

I bought these shoes for my son a few months ago. He loves them and so do I. He literally wears them every day, and they have held up extremely well. They are super easy to take on and off, especially for kids with fine motor issues. And they look really cool. My favorite part is the excellent arch support. I highly recommend these shoes.

Two things I want to say. If you are shopping at Zappo's for the first time (Like I was when I bought these shoes), my experience with Zappo's was VERY positive. What a great way to get shoes ESPECIALLY for someone like me who has a special needs child. It is quite a challenge to shop for shoes with my 7 year old autistic child. Two...these are great shoes for him as well. He put them on without any complaints from Day 1. This is a simply no small miracle. Yes, the shoes did separate as shown in the picture but he "TOE" walks and runs constantly so it was not a surprise to me (i.e. VERY hard on the toe part of ANY Shoe). I came back here to order a new pair and unfortunately they are sold out. On to looking again...:-)

These shoes have been great for my 6 year old son. I find that the velcro is more secure than other New Balance Classics shoes. They have also held up better than his last pair of New Balance Classic shoes that started getting holes in the sides after a few months. These are probably the best pair of children's New Balance we have had.

New Balance is one of those rare brands that rarely, if ever, lets me down. We purchased these for my 4 year old son as his 4K "school shoes." I made a short list of possibles, and then he made the final decision, and a solid choice it was. They fit his feet like a glove right out of the box, but were exceptionally easy to slip on. They look really sharp on him too, because, as always, New Balance has that understated, classy look that never seems to go out of style. They've held up well, Velcro strap included, and continue to be easy to clean. Most stains wipe off fairly easily, or you can just toss them into a wash and they'll come out looking new and smelling fresh, no worse for wear. If you're new to the kids-shoe market or you've never tried NB before, don't hesitate. They're a great value, and you know you're getting quality.

Great shoe. Has held up very well to a very active little boy

We are always on the hunt for sturdy kids shoes for my very active 7 year old. We tried four other brands and they all had defects or felt too narrow. This pair was comfortable and appears well made at the start. The leather on the sides seems like it will hold up better than models with mesh uppers and the sole is well cushioned, thick and wide enough to give him a good base. I’ll update my review once we test durability.

My son loves these

My son has wide feet and he is already in a 2.5 at 7. He is not the best at tying shoes, but velcro is harder to find at the bigger kid sizes. These fit great and it was easy for him to get on and off. Would definitely buy again when his feet get larger.

Very cute shoes. Have held up well through tough playground play and frequent washings.

My son loves these shoes. Very comfortable and natural. Very good fit and after 2 months of solid wear they still look and feel good. I? totally recommend these shoes and am also going to get him another pair in a different color.

My 4 year old has a bit of a wide foot. Not so wide that he needs wide shoes but wide enough that many brands are too narrow (if that makes any sense). These run wide enough to make them comfortable for him. He loves them and so far they have held up well.

Perfect kindergartner shoe! Easy on and off, and don't look like a a velcro shoe. They are holding up great to wild recess shenanigans. They are a great fit and the color matches with a variety of his clothes. Always love New Balance. We buy him a new pair every year!

I have 3 boys and they all love these shoes. All my boys have wide and extra wide feet and are very picky with the shoes they wear. They voted these the best, They have several pairs of this style in 3 different colors. They wear and clean well. Easy on and off for my little guys, makes them feel independent. nice colors and styling. Good grip on the soles so they are able to run and play. Only color that looked dirty immediately was the blue and black. As soon as they put those on I was wiping them so the could look descently clean. But other than that we have had no problems with these. They do run a little larger and wider than most shoes so keep that in mind when ordering. If you want them to fit right now, I suggest ordering a half a size down.

My son has been wearing these for 8 months. They've held up well and he is pretty rough on his sneakers. This is the first pair that's lasted longer than 3 months without falling apart. He has wide feet, we tried the New Balance 574s and they were much too narrow (even in the wide size). Overall a great shoe for us!
