These shoes fit my son great. They seem true to size. He can get them on himself in a snap which is a plus for us. The color is vibrant and has even gotten comments from people passing by. This seems like a very supportive shoe.

My son loved his "lightning fast shoes," but they lasted only 3 months before starting to unravel with the stitching. Not sure if my 4 year old is just especially rough on shoes, but these didn't last very long!

I bought for my 6 year old son 1 month ago. He loves them, they looked and felt great (according to him). However, both shoes have started coming apart at the seam over the toe. I would hope that New Balance shoes would stand up to a month’s worth of wearing but not the case.

They wore out quickly but other than that we loved them.

Great shoe, but if your boy is as hard on shoes as mine is — REALLY HARD ON THEM — go for something more durable. Top front stitching disintegrated within 3 months. A bummer to buy another pair of sneakers before he’s grown out of them.

We went up a full size (maybe even a size and a half) from what my son measured on the brannock and these fit wonderfully. We had these same shoes last year in a different color and loved them. They fit a wide foot well and have good support. We also love the single velcro and faux criss-cross laces. They wore great for about 3 months, but now have a hole in the fabric near the toe. I sold children's shoes for many years, and understand that the average "life span" of kids' shoes is about 3-4 months, but these are the first shoes we've ever had that got a hole or otherwise fell apart. He alternated these shoes with others, so the weren't worn every day. My son hasn't outgrown them yet, and I would have liked to have gotten at least another month of wear (I'd planned to get him new shoes for Christmas anyway). As such, I would hesitate in buying again.

My son loved these shoes. However, as other reviewers pointed out, they wore out at the toe pretty quickly. That was disappointing for sure.

Purchased this shoe 2 months ago. My son was very happy and said they were comfortable. The shoe did not hold up well at all. The front of his shoe has come apart in just 2 months. Very disappointed in the quality as we are usually happy with the brand.

The tongue on the show shifts over as the day goes on. My son complain that it is very annoying.

Bought these for my 6 year old son who has a wider foot. Took a few tries to find the correct size. The wide ended up being too wide for him. Going up a half size in the regular with worked out better. Have only had them a few weeks but they are wearing well and he finds them comfortable.

My just-turned 9 year old wears size 4-5 shoes, which are fairly large for his age, but his feet are fairly slender - Not wide by any means. I purchased these in size 5, but the velcro closure would not stretch completely over the top of the shoe. Even when we pulled the velcro half-3/4 of the way to fasten them, they were not overly comfortable. We are sending these shoes back and ordering a different pair.

My son loved the design and the overall comfort of this shoe. The only downside is that the velcro strap broke completely off after a month.

My son has been wearing this shoe for about a week and it has thread coming out from all around where the stitching is. So annoyed to pay for a shoe where the stitching comes out immediately.

Bought these shoes for my 9 year old son in May. He's worn them off and on this summer - not as much as usual during the school year since it's been summer and you don't wear tennis shoes to and from the pool! I was extremely disappointed to find recently that they already have a hole in the toe - this has never happened with any of his tennis shoes. For the price, these should not fall apart like that, especially after so little wear. This was my first experience with New Balance and I am not impressed - won't be buying another pair.

I am disappointed with these sneakers. My 4-year old son has had them for only a few weeks and the fabric is shredding. There are threads sticking out everywhere. He can still wear them, but I won't buy NB again for him. There are other brands that wear better.

Terrible. My 6 year old wore a pair of these and in two months there was a whole in the top and the seam came apart.

Only had for two months. Worse shoe so far that we’ve purchased for our 6yr old. That’s quite a few pair.....
