Ok, so I have not left a review in a while but felt this jacket was noteworthy. So, fit is slim. Maybe a bit slimmer than the atom lt, or maybe the same and the atom lt i have has stretched a little through the fleece under the arms? Not sure, but they are close. It is a little longer than the atom and looks better. The face fabric is more durable than the atom, and I already thought the atom fabric was striking a good strength to weight balance but this is next level. The face fabric holds the dwr as well as a shell.Yes its that good. Almost makes a soft shell redundant, in fact i think it does. as for warmth, it's about the same as the atom. I thought it would be warmer, but using the coreloft compact at 80g is roughly equivalent to standard coreloft at 60 in my experience. Nice thing about the compact is I have had coreloft pack out after many years of everyday use, usually on my back from driving and sitting down (atom SV about 8 years old and was my only and everyday jacket that entire time for all activities). The compact is... well already packed out by design, so long term durability should be even greater than coreloft which is already impressive for a synthetic in my opinion. It is actually more breathable overall than the atom which is weird. Total weather protection, can not feel any wind through it, but it really regulates temperature well. Ideal for warmer days on the slopes. I have even ran in it, didn't feel stuffy at all and im a sweaty dude. In short its worth every penny and a worthy successor the the much loved atom lt. I am 6'3'' somewhere between 200 and 230 lbs and have XL. It fits me perfect at any weight I hit. Arcteryx is awesome and the fit and finish is legendary. I don't want every jacket I own the have the dead bird logon on it, but they are just that good. If you shop around you will not find a better jacket for cold active pursuits. So don't waste your time and just buy it sight unseen.

Love this jacket, wear it around town and get compliments on it all the time. This jacket dries AMAZINGLY quick. On a recent trip where my Acrteryx SABRE AR wetted thru this saved my bacon and kept me dry. I can't comment to how well they will hold up as both products I have had for less than 1 month, but so far super happy with this one.

I do a lot of activity in winter. My wife I hike and climb in RMNP all the time. This jacket feels great even when it's in the teens in the mountains. Doesn't leave me hot or too cold. I'm 6 foot and 150 pounds, medium fits great.

I typically run warm, but this jacket keeps me at the right temperature no matter what I'm doing. As an insulation layer, this jacket is a slim fit. I wouldn't say it fits small, as I normally wear a large, but it is important to note that there isn't any extra jacket flapping around.

I put this jacket to the test in 25 degree wind and rain this week and it went beyond expectations. It shed moisture well and held up to the wind. Totally worth the price tag.

I love the fit, warmth and style of this jacket. Great active insulation that dumps excess heat and moisture effectively. Durable outer shell as well. Seems like it will last a long time.

This is the perfect insulated jacket for winter sports. The fit and the warm are absolutely perfect for winter running and ski touring under -5 celcius (without additional external layer). Using different base layer, this jacket can be used for -5 to -20 degree. It's the perfect balance between breathability and wind protection. Specifically for winter running, even in thought conditions, you can go run for many hours without having fear of getting cold. I own the Gamma MX, Atom, Norwan Gore-Tex Insulated... but the Proton is my favorite, just bring an extra light Gore-Tex with you in case of really bad weather, and you can manage any kind of bad situation. I don't understand why they still produce the Atom SL since the Proton is better in every way possible.

Been wearing every day through the past month and a half in the Canadian Rockies. Very warm in below 0 degrees, stays warm when working hard and sweating, and layers very well. I have used a a standalone for walking to work and as long as it's not windy it works well for this. Good mix of comfort, style, and technical ability. A piece everyone should own.

I overheat very easily so l'm not sure that's an issue. I go to the closet for everyday use and find myself disappointed if I don't get to wear this jacket. For 3/4 of the year the only reason I choose another coat is for formal occasions or because I'm embarrassed for wearing the same coat every day. This coat is nearly perfect.

Love this jacket. 5'9, 38 chest, 32 waist, could have went with either the M or L. Chose the L for layering and everyday use. Great hood and face protection when fully zipped. Great for wet and really cold days. It's been -6 a few mornings recently and this thing has been perfect with a light Arcteryx shirt underneath. This will be my daily jacket, but definitely could use this jacket on the mountain due to it's lightness and breathability; I overheat and tend to need lighter yet for intense activities. Purchased the black but wouldn't have minded the Neptune (I purchased in store where they only had black). Again, great jacket for many uses.

This is an exceptional piece of clothing for its intended use. It is a great outer jacket if you need a warm coat on a cold, wind free days especially if you are being active. It is also great as a mid layer under a shell for windy or rainy days.

Have been wearing this jacket everyday since I received it and it has been perfect. Nice and breathable but warm enough to wear on moderately cold days with a light shirt or a sweater underneath. Also had the opportunity to wear this jacket underneath my Sabre shell while on a recent skiing trip and found it to help keep me warm on the chair lift and at a good temperature while going down the mountain.

I own and have climbed in all of the first tier jackets (Patagonia, Rab, OR). This revised Proton LT is the best of the best. It is truly more durable than the others and it's predecessor. I scraped and brushed and banged it up and down South Fork Valley, CO and Alaska ice climbs and it shows no wear whatsoever. And, it looks great in photos. : )

Great Jacket. Wind and rain resistant. I use this jacket for fat biking and other activities. Good to about -10C (with mid-layer) can also use as a mid layer in colder weather. Best thing is it breathes/wicks well so that you stay dry.

This has become my new go to hoodie for daily use. Very light and can pack down small if needed. I was surprised how warm it keeps me while still being very light. As far as the fit goes I would say it's just right since it says in the description that it's a trim fit. If you like a more baggy style maybe this isn't for you or you can try going up a size.

I attended an event at the arc'teryx store in Piccadilly where they were demonstrating the breathability of the Proton Lt. it was a eureka moment for me as I get a bit sweaty when walking quickly if I am wearing either my cerium lt hoody or my atom lt hoody. Since getting the proton lt hoody I have not looked back! If I am wanting extra warmth I combine it with my cerium sl vest.

I purchased a Proton LT a couple of weeks ago and it has been great. I've used it for some colder weather hiking (40ish degrees F). It's also become my daily jacket (along with a base layer) for these really cold mornings we've been having. Luckily, I work at an Arc'Teryx dealer, so I was able to try on sizes before purchasing, but I wear a large in pretty much everything nowadays, and this is one of the best, most comfortable fitting jackets/hoodies I've owned. Highly recommended.

Coat is much warmer than I expected. It fits and looks great. Nice pockets with zippers. Hood fits well. I didn't realize until yesterday that it also sheds rain well. Love this coat!

Phenonenal piece of kit. The new LT rocks. Works very well on top of my Fortrez and under my Alpha SV as a system. The "tensioners" on the waist cinch are not a typical squeeze toggle as one would come to expect so the jury is still out on this design with me. The LT breathes better than the previous AR while still providing a solid degree of warmth. The face fabric seems more like a true softshell material. Very nice feel to it. For its intended uses this is simply a phenomenal piece. I wouldn't hesitate in purchasing it again. I own this piece in a XL in Neptune. I sized it a little bigger for layering. My Fortrez is a large, Proton LT is an XL, and my Alpha SV is a large. When purchasing Arc items pay attention to the cut. I own many and have owned many Src items over the years. Pricey maybe but I found that the cost is justified with how long these items last as long as you properly maintain them. For an example I bought my 1st Alpha SV in 2004. Its still waterproof. DWR is on me obviously. I just recently updated my SV to a new 100d variation is 2018. So, 14yrs of use. You do the math.
