I am using to jacket for skiing (up to -10 Celcius) and fat biking (up to -20 Celcius). It is very light and gives great liberty of movement. It's been washed about 40 times so far and still looks new. The only thing missing would be underarm zippers for more breathability.

This is about durability of the outer fabric. Snowshoeing for a long day in the Rockies, off-trail in a heavily wooded, hilly area. Although I was trying to protect my recently purchased Proton - I had extensive contact with sharp branches. Back at the trailhead, I inspected the jacket expecting numerous punctures needing to be patched. I was amazed... not one hole, not even a little one. And perhaps an even better example of Proton's durability occurred this morning - a cat pulled my "Go-To Proton" off a chair and kneadedit to make a bed. To my amazement, again... no punctures... not even from sharp cat claws. Very impressive outer fabric and construction! Thank you Arcteryx.

I live in the PNW and need something light warm and versatile: enter the Arcteryx Proton! I wear mine almost daily, on it own or under a shell for extra comfort and warmth. It's my favorite investment outside of my home and puppy. Highly recommend!!

I absolutely love this jacket and wish I had bought it a long time ago. It layers under anything so well. The fit is amazing and the quality is top notch. This Jacket is so comfortable, it's like wearing a cozy sweater. I was worried that it would be too breathable for windy days. It is always windy where I live but this jacket performs amazing. I don't find that the wind penetrates it near as much as I had feared it might. If it get's really windy it easily takes a layer over top.

I love this jacket. I also have the atom lt as well. The face fabric on the proton lt seems to be more durable which is stated in the product descriptions. The fit is trim , slightly more trim than the atom lt. Several reviewers stated the pits were tight. I can agree a little to this. I'm 6, 200 and train regularly I have a 42 chest. The pits are tight however they aren't uncomfortable or even noticeable. If I hadn't read other reviews I don't think I would have even noticed. Great jacket to layer or standalone. I wore my kyanite hoody under this on a really chilly day. And it fit great and kept me warm. The cobalt moon color is really just a navy color. Love this jacket and Arc'teryx product. Quality is above and beyond.

Women's Review of Man's Jacket. I've had the Men's Proton LT for over a year now and really like it. I wear it for many different occasions...snowboarding/skiing (mostly resort), walking, running, cycling. I usually layer a thin wool base, thin fleece, (Proton LT), and a Gore-Tex shell over top when conditions require. The breathability is GREAT and my body temp stays regulated during above activities. (Somehow being very breathable, it is still wind resistant and warm) Favorite features include wrist cuffs (stretchy and comfortable with a sports watch) and jacket length. I have a longer torso (my height 5'10") and wanted the extra length over the women's Proton LT. (Length extends a couple inches past hip bones and even longer past bum) The fit is athletic, nice and snug around my waist and hips while having ample room through shoulders and chest. I appreciate the snug fit around waist for fitting into snow bibs and adjusting shell over top. Pockets are deep enough to hold phone, wallet and keep my hands warm when out walking. Proton LT washes like a dream. Durability has kept up. Not the most abrasive resistant material available (material on both outside and inside VERY soft and comfortable) but I've not had issues with tearing or snagging. No issues with zippers or hood adjustment. Synthetic insulation was a great choice for my first Arc'teryx piece. Now waiting for my Cerium LT to get here.

Lucky to have 2020 models of both Proton LT and Atom LT. Like both but for me the thinner fit profile and subtly better breathability gives the not to the Proton for hikes or active pursuits. I find the Atom is a little more comfortable wearing around town, for dog walks or more casual activities. For reference I am 6' and 190 lbs and large fits perfectly.

I've consistently reached for my Proton LT over the last two seasons when I needed something warm with excellent temperature regulation. It has performed phenomenally under a shell while telemark skiing in everything New England weather can throw at you. I tend to run hot, and with tele skiing even more so, but the breathability has proven itself in a way I've not experienced with other insulation: allowing me to stay dry on the inside (less perspiration) while also keeping me warm when I'm not moving or generating heat (thermal retention). This is crucial when one is producing sweat when the temperature is well below freezing.

Loving my Proton LT so far. Was looking for an inoffensive light jacket to throw on for fall hikes/walks around the city. So far it's performing well. Seems like high quality material, zipper, and seams. Im 6'1, 185lbs, slim build. I was worried about the fit since I ordered online but it fits well, although I would prefer a couple more cms in the length as it is just barely reaches below my belt line (this is probably just a personal preference)

This jacket is the perfect one jacket quiver mid weight layer around. Durable enough to withstand rope, rock and tree abrasions from climbing and skiing, and breathable enough you don't get too overheated while going up. The fit is true to size, in my opinion. Very aesthetically pleasing in person. I've even dressed mine up a little. This is an essential for any outdoor enthusiast.

I have 5 other Arc'teryx jackets in my quiver and this is by far my favorite and most used. I'm not sure if technical jackets can get more comfortable. Inside fabric is buttery soft and it is a pleasure to put on. It''s designed quite well. Warm but stIll breathable so you don't overheat. I love the cuffs and has great freedom of movement.

Used it to keep warm while climbing in Yosemite and it did a great job. Heats up very fast when doing any sort of physical activity, but is also quite breathable. The fabric is nice and doesn't limit range of motion in any way.

I used to hate jackets, mostly for how uncomfortable they are, but the Proton is an insanely comfortable and mobile jacket. The material is very nice to the touch. I started to use it for winter mountaineering and climbing, it's always with me, it's great for everyday as well with the sleek look. It's just the right warmth, has enough weather protection for most of the time, DWR from Arc'teryx is best in class and it has enough wind protection for most cases, if the wind really picks up on the ridge or below a colouir, starts snowing etc. I have a hardshell for that. I still cannot believe the superb breathability of the jacket while providing warmth on the move. Pockets are great, although I miss a pocket in the interior. It's not packable as I like things to be, but it is very light anyway and quite durable. Size small fits my skinny body perfectly, 174 cm, 52 kg and 80 cm hips and chest. Always amazed how well Arc pieces work. Totally worth the price!

A few months ago, I purchased a Proton LT. Last week I ordered a 2nd one in another color. I put it thru a couple tests, night hiking in altitude. temperatures weren't too bad, (high 30s F to mid 40s F) and the Proton LT performed better than anything else I've ever tried. Kept me warm without overheating or getting sweaty. I can't speak for the durability since it's still pretty new, but the performance is TOP NOTCH.

I just brought it Went for XC ski tour in heavy snowstorm but not cold around 0 Celsius. The jacket is great, light, breath very well = I went up hill for 1 hour and sweat 50 percent less than in any other jacket. There was snow storm up the hill, the jacket is not wind proof but it was not a problem, perhaps in lower temperature it might be. I am impressed and ARCTERYX is great

This is a great mid layer jacket for climbing. It's pretty water resistant and kept me warm in light rain showers while moving. Looks great and I even wear it into town often. Material seems durable and the fit is great.

The Proton LT is my favorite Arc'teryx jacket. I would consider it a staple of the Arc'teryx line - much like the Atom or a Beta - but perhaps even more so than the others. Arc'teryx absolutely knocked it out of the park with the current iteration of the Proton LT. I personal love everything about it, the fit/comfort, the face fabric, and the versatility. It is a jacket that you can wear for 12 months of the year, stand-alone or under a light shell in warmer months, and as a mid-layer under a shell in the colder months. The material is warm and breathable, and can repel light rain for short periods (and dries quickly), but does little for wind protection. The materials used feel very premium and everything appears to be well made. There are great little features integrated, such as the elastic cuffs. For reference, I'm 5'8", ~165lbs, and an athletic build. Every Arc'teryx product I own fits perfect in a medium, and the Proton LT does as well. It provides enough room to layer underneath, however very thick fleeces (+base layers) do make me feel a little too restrictive. While a relatively tapered fit, there is a bit of a bunching through the mid-section for me, but nothing that I've ever been concerned about. If you are looking for your first Arc'teryx jacket, or a versatile layer and stand-alone piece, this is it. You'll find that sentiment on any review or discussion on the Proton LT that you'll find. I strongly recommend this one, you won't be disappointed.

I wear this hoody for everything cold and aerobic: rock climbing, ice climbing, winter biking, hiking, etc. It is quite breathable, but not as much as the Patagonia nano-air, if you are familiar with that piece. It is much more durable though. If I'm cold, I can throw a shell over it and the warmth goes way up. I have almost no complaints besides the fact that it doesn't come with a stuff sack. It is not meant to be an ultra-packable jacket, but having the ability to hang it off my harness "stock" (no third party stuff sack) would be nice.
