Good fit for my long narrow feet. I choose these over two pair from another brand that I felt had promise. The major difference was support offered by the New Balance. It seemed to be more sturdy as well. I feel that they will make walking easier. I have Scoliosis and Rheumatoid Arthritis; so a good shoe can make a big difference.

This is at least the third, maybe the fourth pair of the New Balance 9 series running shoe I've had. Unfortunately, the women's models come in only stereotypical female colors (pink, fuschia, teal, yuck) or grey. Not excited about the grey I ordered, which is definitely lacking in style, but they are extremely durable, and very comfortable. I have exceptionally narrow feet (2A ball, 5A heel) but these fit just fine. I run two to three times a week, 3 miles a time, and these are perfect for that. When I first put them on they seemed a bit too short, and seemed to hit my big toe, but once I laced them up really tight, the way I like them, my heels slid back and they fit perfectly. I was off and running!

These shoes are so comfortable and I can wear them for hours. I have arthritis in my ankles and knees and these shoes have been so supportive and I can walk several miles in them

This is my second pair in this color. Brought the first one size 8.5 D width because I have wide feet but it way too wide especially after worn a couple times. I went with regular width this time and it was perfect.

Love these!!!!! It feels like I’m walking in slippers....but with excellent support. Wish I tried these years ago.

These shoes do not look fashionable, but man they are good for my feet! I have problems with my feet and custom orthopedic inserts, so my podiatrist recommend I wear the 990s. I've been wearing them for about 10 years and every time I "stray" from these shoes and think I can wear another brand or style, I always end up coming back to the 990s. I can't find any other shoe that offers the support these shoes have, fit my orthopedic inserts, are available in narrow and to add icing to the cake, are made in the US.

These shoes felt great on! My wide foot fit in them very well. I just wasn't in love with the dark grey and pink. Unfortunately they were the only color available in my size. So sadly I am returning them and will wait for the color I really want to be in stock.

I liked that the heel area seemed to hold my pronated foot in place. But although I have had NB 940v2 in medium width, but this felt too narrow. Am ordering in wide, see how that feels. Like that its mostly black color too!

I loved these shoes immediately. The toe box is wide enough to accommodate my Fred Flintstone feet and they immeasurably comfortable. I really should have bought two pairs!

I like this shoe. My husband and both my kids have this same shoe and now I match. I usually wear 7.5-8 and the 7.5 was too small so I exchanged for the 8. There is a little extra room in the toes than I’d like but the 7.5 doesn’t have any extra room so I kept the 8. The wide width is very wide. I purchased these for walking around the city and going to the gym. Very comfortable for several miles of walking at a time. I don’t run but the rest of my family loves these shoes for running.

To go to work, I walk 20 minutes each way to and from the Pen Station to the Flatiron in the treacherous NY ragged streets. The soles of these shoes are not too cushy but cushy-supportive. My feet feel well-padded and protected. The shoes are perfect for my commute, perfect for running up the subway stairs and jumping puddles. Thanks God, these shoes come in WIDE. My bunion feet are very comfortable in this pair. I feel confident that I can wear them all day. This pair worth every $ I spent.

I am a 9.5W in street shoes and usually a 10-10.5W in athletics shoes. I ordered these in a 9.5W and a 10W and the 9.5W fit... the width is not overly wide so if you have very wide feet size up. The only trouble I had was with my little toe on my right foot...it rubbed on both pairs...so I guess it's off with the toe :). Seriously, these are incredibly comfortable, true to size, true to width...don't hesitate to pay the big bucks for these. Sadly I have to return them.

Finally! A shoe that’s wide enough to fit my big feet!! I ordered these in search of something “extra wide!” I have been squeezing my feet into too narrow of shoes for far too long now. The extra wide allows my foot to fully expand and breathe! No more cramping. The grey is much darker in person, but despite previous reviews, I’d call these far from ugly! They’re actually kind of retro looking which is totally my style. Out of the box they felt a little stiff and the heel didn’t have much cushioning. But, I broke them in by wearing them to the gym once (walking and weight lifting) and they broke in quickly! These shoes are great for walking at work when you’re on your feet all day! Nice and wide and well worth your money!

Love em! They're high quality, they fit perfectly in a wide width. I was so glad to learn that the wide worked for me and not just the extra wide. My last pair was great for a full year. They are durable and the suede components and made in USA branding put them over the top. The only problem is that they are very ugly. My previous pair in the extra wide were only available in the grey on grey, this year that size was only available in grey/pink. They fit amazing and feel great- but they are just so ugly- they scream old man shoes in every color. But I keep buying them! can't beat the fit and quality. I even just bought another pair direct from newbalance in custom colors.

These feel like the old New Balance shoes of the old days! Fit is great and not flimsy like in years past!

Excellent fit - wide at the front, not too loose at the heel. They also provide great metatarsal support. Great for daily walking of 2 miles. Wish I had ordered a more colorful version.

This is a great looking shoe. I usually wear a 6 medium but ordered a 7 wide to accommodate my thick orthotics. With the orthotics the shoes were too tight and so I will return and wait for the 990 V3 style to come back in stock

These shoes are a true improvement over the 990v3. They continue to fit extremely well (with room for my orthotics, but tight enough to be useable without them). They have much "bouncier" support in the middle of the foot now, which is where I need it most while running. I see that others have complained about the tongue, but although it is slightly longer, it's not a problem. I also like the changes NB made to the style, which is generally a bit sleeker and has less of the random red bits the v3 had. I've always been a fan of the gray 990s because of their support and their very neutral style. Because of that, after they're ready to be replaced as running shoes, they can be turned into comfortable walking shoes for everything from daily errands to all day theme park visits. They don't draw attention to themselves, just do the work they're supposed to do.

Great roomy toe box. Only reason I'm returning is that my foot is short, wide and with narrow heels. The top of the shoe around my inside ankle was just a little too high and rubbed too much on the bone. Otherwise, nice shoe.

This is the first time I purchased a NB sneaker. The shoe is a little heavy and the tongue is really long, but overall it has great support, width and quite comfortable. I didn't care for the neon N so I used my black maarker to try and cover it up on the sides and front. I was hoping to use them for work, but decided to just use them for the weekends.

Although these are a running shoe, I use them for walking. I like the support, traction, fit and general comfort. Frankly they work better for walking the some of the walking shoes I have tried. The quality is excellent. It's nice to still be able to buy shoes made in the U.S. In my experience, they are usually a better fit and quality. I absolutely love these New Balance W990v4 shoes.

I have a narrow heel and a wide forefoot but I bought a medium instead of a wide and the shoes fit perfectly. I am replacing 993s that lasted for 5 years of moderate to heavy use.These are working out just fine so far -- supportive and comfortable right out of the box. As for style, well, they ARE sneakers -- what can I say? I bought them for walking and for that they are great. Also a plus: they are made in the USA,
