Comfortable and perfect for someone like me who has very narrow flat feet. Great for my powerwalks

I wanted to wear these for a while before I wrote a review. I wasn't sure I liked them at first. After breaking them in gradually for the past month, I feel like I can confidently say this is my shoe! I wrote in my review of another shoe (the 1080) that I had been having trouble finding just a good Stability walking shoe without motion control. My foot likes to move through its natural gait cycle, but still have support. This shoe does that for me! I was a little confused that it was advertised as a running shoe and a cushioned shoe. It is not what you think of your typical modern running shoe with tons of cushioning. Some reviewers have complained that it is too stiff, and if you are used to a really cushioned shoe, it probably will feel that way. In fact, I would recommend breaking it in slowly if you have sensitive feet and other problem joints as I do. But I have found it more and more comfortable the more I wear them. My feet and body definitely need support more than cushioning. But as I said before, the motion control is not the right support for me. As far as fit, they fit exactly like all my other pairs of New Balance I have worn in the past. I wear a 10D. I got the dark grey with pink highlights, and i personally think they are beautiful! I will probably go back and get another pair when I can afford to.

I love 990's. They are comfortable enough to work a 12 hour shift in.

After alot of research I purchased this shoe for my plantar fasciitis. Besides the colour, I am very impressed with the support it gave me after being in so much pain. In addition to stretching and other additions to my routine the 990 made a huge impact on my recovery and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Love these shoes, but wish they came in complete black . Need for work and is really hard to find a decent sneaker for being on your feet all day. But dress code requires all black.

This is my 2nd pair so obviously I love them. I have issues with my hip alignment which can cause pain. However, these provide the righ amount of support and cushion so I am able to workout without pain.

This is my second pair in a different color. I will order a 3rd pair too

This is my "go to" running shoe. So comfortable. Just ordered my third pair.

I have bought every brand and style sneaker on the market.. Truly this is the most comfortable. I'm functioning better, and comfortably even though I have practically every foot problem that exists. I wish this style came in more colors, and when they do not go out of stock so quickly I also wish they came in leather and waterproof.

My Dr recommended these for my painful foot . I had caused an inflammation in the ball on my foot from walking alot and in ill-fitting shoes (a pair of new balance I had completely worn out). I will always wear new Balance. Good fit, secured my foot and good support.

Have worn New Balance for years. Like the way they feel, helps my feet & leg problem and aids in my back ache when standing for long periods of time

This was my first purchase of New Balance shoes. They were recommended by my Doctor because I have developed Plantar Facitis. The choice of styles on the website was a little daunting! I chose the 990v4 because I need to wear black shoes for work and my Doctor told me to get shoes with good arch support. So far my foot pain has lessened a little from when I first started wearing my new shoes. I feel that it took a while for my problem to show up, so it may take a while for it to go away. I know that my shoes will no longer be causing any problems!

I would highly recommend new Balance I will be bringing from new balance again

Love these sneakers. I wear extra width and these fit well (some extra width's are still too narrow). They are comfortable and sturdy. Have good support for the treadmill. And I love that the sole is gray rather than WHITE. Why do Black sneakers have a WHITE sole!!!!!!! I would prefer BLACK; black on black.

I have purchased several pairs of the 990 shoe, very good support. I use them for walking.
