Guys and Danskos: Fashion "do" or fashion "don't"? Who cares. I've had the old originals, then switched to Sanita for a while. Both were tough across my high instep and felt like I was dragging (and walking on) building bricks. Oh, I claimed comfort, yes I did. I lied. I wanted to fit in with my fellow health care professionals. I eventually enjoyed Birkie Pros with Superfeet insoles for years. Then came retirement. And a reminiscent daydream of the old Dansko look intriguedme. With jeans and loud socks? Sure. This will mortify my high school aged son and bring me up to his height as well. Hehe. Ordered the XPs and made a sandwich. As is typical with Zappos, I hadn't quite finished the sandwich when the doorbell rang and the XPs were in my hands. Then on my feet. True to size? ?; lighter? ?; waterproof? ?, and with the correct outrageous snowboard socks, the XPs have further alienated me from my kid. ?? But not his friends. They dig 'em! And I dig 'em! They DO fit well and feel great. Perfect for winter too, as I can kick em off and on easily coming in and out of the house. So, come on guys. Let's bring Dansko XPs to the retirement party! They make you taller and your butt will look great. They set you apart, and still are as functional as a hammer. Get some fun socks. Torment your offspring. And if you've got more moxy than I do, wear them to church.

I am a restaurant manager and I am on my feet over 10 hours a day. For the past six years these are the only shoes that I have used (three different pairs, each last me about two years). Yes, they are a little pricey, but worth every penny when it comes to comfort and durability. I honestly think that they are making them more comfortable now than two years ago because I put my new pair on straight out of the box and I do not want to take them off because they feel so good! I highly recommend these shoes!

I am a surgical technician during the day and I waitress in the evenings; which means I am on my feet 15+ hours in a day. I purchased these based on the high reviews and wore them for the first time yesterday. They are very well made and look extremely durable, fabulous arch support for my high arches, but my feet were sooooo sore last night. The top of my feet feel bruised. I am hoping after a few more wears they will become more comfortable.

Softer, more comfortable sole than the Pro. Size is slightly smaller than the Pro version. Ordered Size 43 but needed to exchange for a 41. Worn Danskos for 6 years. Took 2 days to break in. Worth the money. Last pair sustained 4 years of surgery residency wear. Highly recommend.

Very happy with these so far. I have warn the Prfessional Danskos for years and just switched to these and I am so happy I did! I work ER so I'm on my feet for 12-16hrs on concrete floors and these did not disappoint. As all Danskos l, they take some time to "break in" so be prepared for this. I just wear two pairs of socks for the first part of my shift and then take one pair off to help stretch them out. They also clean up very easily and look great. I have recently squired some foot problems and with these I have no issues.

Sizing difficulties: Previously I had bought two Dansko Professional Clogs in size 38. They fit well but felt narrow for my wide feet (at the time, I think the Professional did not come out in wides). I usually buy 7W/C or 7.5M Women's in other shoes, with 7W fitting best. The first clog lasted me about 8 years, the second about 10 years with less frequent wear. It's time for a new pair, and I was excited about the XP waterproof option. I ordered a 38 regular, and it felt long. It is in fact longer than the Professional from 2008 (see picture). The collar is tight enough that it will not fall off. Then I ordered a 37 in the XP Waterproof, and that one felt too snug, definitely with not enough room in the toe box; it'll be going back. So 38 is my size in the XP waterproof, if I can accept the slightly longer heel. Right now I'm purchasing the 38 Regular and 38 Wide in the Professional to figure out the best size for me. I wish the Professional came in Waterproof. Positive: the XP Waterproof black is like a suck-all-color-into-me matte black. I like the finish but can't test its waterproof abilities because I might return it.

The heel moves up and down when you walk - this is the most helpful thing I read to help me determine if the size was right. They wear like a clog and the back is kind of just there - decorative and functional to keep socks dry in inclement weather. I determined the fit was right because my toes fit comfortably and my feet pretty much filled to the ends of the shoe front and back. The heel does not rub even though there’s space. The footbed is very firm and fit the bottom of my feet perfectly with the arch support I need. I have custom orthotics for plantar fasciitis but I felt fine without them in the shoes, as it gave me a similar feel. They look better than sneakers, which is all I have been wearing to work up til now so I feel more appropriately dressed and they are nice and plain so I can wear them every day until I can afford another color. I like that they’re waterproof and slip proof as I live in upstate NY and usually don’t bother with boots unless the snow is deep. They are not the same as wearing running shoes, but what is? People talked about these needing to break in but I had no issues with these . I’m a teacher and on my feet all day, walking 1-2 miles and climb 15+ flight of stairs at work. I’ve only worn them one day but it was fine. I felt a bit stiff or sore in the joints which I think is the overall lack of cushioning compared to running shoes. Or maybe I’m just getting old and the storm was coming. I’ll be buying another pair soon in another color.

This is my fifth pair of Dansko Professional clogs. The other 4 pairs fit in the exact same way from one another. This pair, the only "XP" that I've ever worn, is the same marked size (39) as the others, but it is noticeably longer than the rest. I debated whether to return them for the next size down. I opted to keep them, but will probably buy a gel insert for extra comfort and a bit snugger fit. I should note that I have a very high arch and I buy inserts for most shoes for that reason.

Read a review stating new Pros are sized differently and the definitely are. I have a pair from 2 yrs ago that I love & wanted a different color. I ordered the same size. Toe box is markedly longer- as far as width, I can’t get my feet all the way in. I do have a wider foot but not wide enough to buy “wides”. Sometimes new shoes are snug for me but these I can’t even put on. Sad that danskos what be a fit for me anymore

Danskos are my favorite for a full day working on my feet on concrete floors. This is my first pair of the Pro XP style. THEY ARE LARGER than my "old" Danskos. Per others' reviews, I ordered a 41 instead of 42 and am pleased with that decision. The wide is great for my post-bunion surgery feet, although the heel area is a bit too wide.

When they arrived, there was no mention on the box that it was WATERPROOF. I had to get back into my account to see that it indeed IS. Very comfortable and the first time I've found their new "Wide" size. I'm in love.

I have a high instep, which hit the top of the shoe.

I was pleasantly surprised by the fit and level of comfort, as in the past I seemed to be between sizes in Dansko and was more comfortable in Sanita clogs. These offer more support than my old Sanita clogs and the fit is great.

Dansko has missed the mark with sizing on this waterproof Pro XP model. I wear a size 7-7 1/2 in US sized shoes but have worn Dansko size 37 for 20 years. I ordered sizes 37 and 38 just in case. Unfortunately, the 37’s were so large, at least 1/2 inch longer, that I declined to even open the box on the 38’s. I will send both pair back and try a 36. I am so disappointed because I ordered them for travel to the UK but my flight leaves tomorrow. No time for exchange. ??

This was the first time I tried on Dansko’s. I really liked that these are waterproof. The color is nice. They seem very well made and the leather seems like excellent quality. The sole and arch support seemed very comfortable. I liked everything about them except that the recommended size I ordered was way too large for me. (I ordered a 39 and I normally wear an 8.5-9. I do however have flat, low volume feet.) I read that Dansko’s are supposed to fit differently than most shoes. They are supposed to fit looser but not so loose that you can kick them off. There’s also supposed to be a little space between the back of the heel and the back of the shoes. Heels are supposed to move up and down a little when you walk in them (but not rub). There was an inch in the back of my heels and I could easily kick them off. I’m thinking that perhaps I will go in a shoe store and be professionally fitted for these shoes rather than wing it on my own. But I may reorder these in an 38 or even a 37 and see how that goes. I really appreciate Zappos customer service and customer-very-friendly return policy/procedure. Thanks Zappos!!

cute but heavy. these felt too big on one foot, but the size down was too small on the other foot. I ended up trying a different pair of danskos and the larger size fit fine. So maybe you have to try a few on if the pair you get isn't the right fit?

I love Dansko and have worn them for years as my go to shoe. I have another XP pair I love . But these were so huge they flopped off my feet! I don't know if this pair was an anomaly or if the waterproof ones run bigger. Just a heads up! I still give Dansko a 5 overall, but disappointed to have them so giant.

These Danskos are my new FAVORITE shoes! I work on my feet all day. I am a size 7 or 7.5 (feet exactly 9.25"). First I ordered the 38's, way too big. Then the 37's, still felt pretty roomy esp. at the heel. Then, the 36's. These are perfect! Instantly comfortable and supportive. My heel slips out of the shoe just a little (as it's supposed to) but the shoe still feels very secure. There is an insole that can be removed if you want just a little more room. It is so soft and spongy. I am so pleased with these clogs, I wonder what took so long???

Love theses Danskos! So comfortable. Perfect for 12+ hours working on my feet. I'm usually a 39, but I ended up exchanging them for a 38. Thank you to Zappos and your awesome customer service!!

The only thing I wear around the house on hardwood floors. Not the prettiest, but the most comfortable, supportive and best for my middle-aged back. This style fits my high arch/narrow heel well; just got the Navy Oiled, which I prefer over the black.

My old Dansko clogs have been providing comfort for over 20 years. They are my go-to for everything from working in the kitchen, light gardening and errands. They are especially valuable when I have back or sciatica pain from wearing flat sandals or heals or just overworking. The Danskos straightened me right out, much better than going to the Chiropractor. They were made in Polland and fit perfectly. I have tried to get a fresh pair twice, once with Dansko Professional size 37 regular, then again with Dansko Pro XP Waterproof size 37 wide, both made in China. Most of the features would pass as "close enough" compared to my originals. The glaring difference is the shape of the footbed. Instead of being contoured (like an hourglass) it is a rectangle and slightly longer. In other words the new ones are wider at the arch and narrower in the toebox. This change has made it impossible for me to find a good fit. Until they go back to the old foot bed I won't buying them. Note, width rating I gave pertains to the 37 Wide. The 37 regular that I tried was too narrow. Has anyone found a replacement for the old Danskos?

This was my second pair of danskos for work. My first pair I used heavily for over 3 years of walking to and from work and long hours on my feet as a nurse, until I finally had to retire them. This pair, in the same size and style as my previous pair were too small. I know that they take a need a breaking in period so I decided to keep them. Eventually, my feet hurt so bad after my shifts, I got the shoes stretched. It helped a little but still found they weren’t comfortable after a long shift. Now, I noticed that the sole has cracked, with only wearing them a few times. Unfortunately, they are unwearable at this point. Disappointed considering the price of these shoes.

Such a great shoe I love my Dansko XP's. Don't get the 2.0's the original XP is superior comfort wise.

This is my first pair of Pro XP. I love them ! They are much more comfortable and still offer excellent support !
